View Full Version : Will Seth Green stay for the entire run of the show now?

Seth Green is a very popular and busy actor, involved in dozens of projects at any given moment. Do you think he'll stay as Leo for the rest of the shows run?

For all we know the show could have 7-10 total seasons, will he still be around till the end of it?

I'd hate for Leo to have a FOURTH voice change after Biggs, Dom and Seth.

Seth Green isn't some A-list actor, you know. He'll be fine.

Look at his film/TV history, the damn guy is in everything. He's always in more than one show or movie at oncE:

There is a difference here. While Seth Green like his predecessor he is somewhat known as an actor, Seth love voice acting and TMNT specifically as he is a comic geek. He may have to do his recordings by remote from time to time I beleive he will stick with it through the final episode. He is much more reliable and likeable so there should be no issues. As far as Dom is concerned I lump him together with the first voice actor as their voices are virtually the same and unfortunately he was just a bridge. Green's Leo sounds quite different and will take some getting used to. I keep thinking in scenes where Leo's without his blue mask that his eyes will bugs out Robot Chicken style.:trazz: If you make a thread about this speculation you may as well edit the original post and make it a poll,Cyber. My bet is the poll will say he will stick with the role all the way to the end of the run.

God I hope so, even if I'm not used to him in the roll yet. Between this and the movie, poor Leo and his voice actor issues... Seth seems to be a sort that handles a full plate pretty well though with having his hands in such a variety of stuff.

I'm just appreciative that his wife is, as an article mentioned, supposedly a Leo fan. Not bad, having some pressure from home. lol

I could see him staying on. He's more positive to have around, it seems, and he's a big fan himself. I feel that he'd make time for this whenever possible...and his wife is a huge Leo fan, so I'm sure that helps. He said so at SDCC. She's happy to be married to Leonardo. lol

Then the writers made Willow into a lesbian.

Well, Nick works with mostly predominantly union voice actors, we might just get a strike one year like the writers strike of 2009, and then we're stuck with second fiddles. So, it could be worse.

Pretty sure voice acting is also a lot less demanding. To my limited knowledge, I think someone could be able to get their own lines for an episode of a cartoon recorded and done in an afternoon?

Live action shows I believe usually take a number of days to shoot, right? With most everyone having to be there. Big difference.

You know, I bet out of everybody here on the technodrome, I bet Cybercube is probably the most famous one out of the non official members. I'd love it if in the next comic con, someone would go up to the panel and ask the producers if they are familar with cybercube.

I actually went up to the booth and after I asked Ciro about the archie comics, I asked if he ever visited the technodrome forums. He said a few years ago, but he didn't stay awhile.

I go, "Cybercubed drove you off, right?"
He goes, "I don't know who it was. Maybe him."

I wanted to talk more with him, but he had to go backstage. Nice guy.

I feel like Seth is very likely to stay, in fact I would not be surprised if they vetted him VERY carefully because they want to make sure they aren't replacing Leo's voice all the time.

snake: it was a sad day when ciro left us, it was so awesome having the showrunner here not just reading but also posting once in a while. it sucks how it turned out. I like to imagine that he still reads but doesn't post. :P In fact he has posted since he announced he left, so yeah.

I sure hope not. As I said in another thread, he is my least favorite voice that Leo has had in any tv or movie adaption of him. I don't know why. I can not get past Robot Chicken when he talks. I keep waiting for the screen to go fuzzy after every line Leo speaks, like when they change the channel on that show.

I hope so. I love Seth as Leo, and I'm sure he will stay because he seems more dedicated to it and really cares about the franchise. I often got the impression Biggs didn't care since he barely showed up at the Comic Cons except for the first one whereas Seth has shown up at both SDCC and NYCC. I definitely feel he will stay though.

Yeah, I don't think Cubed cares about what he did, but it was a damn shame to see Ciro go. He was awesome.

That's something that struck me recently... Am among those that don't care for Knoxville handling Leo's voice for the movie; film claims he's a teen then go and voice him with a man in his 40s, and sounds like it. Then after Within the Woods it occurred to me that Seth is about 40. Well dannng, it just really depends on the individual, and using real voice actors, doesn't it.

He seemed pretty damn excited about it at Comic Con - more than Biggs was, anyway - so I think he's here to stay.

At first I didn't like his voice, but when he isn't groaning and sounding weak (which he had to initially do since Leo was recuperating), he sounds just fine. So I'm glad he was chosen. He doesn't seem like the type to flake out, so he'll only leave if he's fired.

Hey, don't sell yourself short, Jester. You're still pretty well known around here, and you're hilarious too.

And, hey, age isn't anything. Rob's in his fifties and he still kicks a** as Donnie, so there you go. I think Seth is awesome as Leo and brings new life to the character just as he should. And it's fitting that there would be a change considering what Leo has gone through. I suspect Leo's still going to go through some mental issues as well concerning the attack. Hope we see that in his vision quest.

Then the writers made Willow into a lesbian.

They were going to regardless. They tinkered with the idea of making Zander gay, but went with Willow instead. It was going to make no difference if Seth stayed or left. That being said, it still annoys me he left and the episode of Angel he was in was one of the best IMO.

The program is Netflix only. It's based off a book which was based off a woman's experience (at least the majority of the first season is, second season not so much). The show is good, but Davetello is right about Biggs. Honestly, his parts are kind of boring especually in the second season. Laura Prepon (Donna, That 70s Show) gets the best bits. I like Seth so far, though. Am excited to hear him more. I'm sure he'll stick around.

Whether Nick wanted him doing anything for it or not prob can't be known to any of us, but unless he was somehow agreed that he wouldn't for some reason out of Nick's concern for what he'd do... promoting it at least a little would have at least been a small positive light on someone who otherwise tends to make himself look like a jackass.

He suffered a traumatic experience. Anyone who has suffered through or been through any type of trauma has some type of a reaction to it and "change".

Take kids who have been abused in some way. Maybe before the aforementioned abuse, the child was very outgoing or playful, etc., but after the traumatic events, the child may become closed up and withdrawn. Maybe develop a lack of trust in people.

Not comparable, but I was living here in Japan when that huge tsunami and earthquake hit. I didn't realize it at the time, but after that event, I was obviously going through PTSD. I didn't realize that until after I moved back home April 2011 to deal with my uncle's death and arrangements. Even when back on US soil, I still felt like I was still experiencing the earthquake, the aftershocks (which lasted a long time after the earthquake here in Japan). Then later on that year in VA we had an earthquake. I was at my new teaching assistant job and started to freak out a little and grew panicky, but kept it together for the kids.

So yeah, people usually do change in some way after something tragic or traumatizing happens to them. How people react, however, varies from person to person.

Sorry about getting into the "personal" stories here....

Yep, this is so very true! Some people never do get over their trauma in the end. But, Leo is surrounded by a strong and well grounded family, they'll help him bounce back, but, he is going to be changed somewhat, and that him getting back to full throttle should take some time. Nope, I don't have Nick 2, and like I firgured would happen, it never recorded and there seems to be no future showing of this episode, so I just simply can't watch it.

http://www.nick.com/

The latest episode is not being promoted, at all on Nick.com. It just has a thing called "Spring Cleaning" but that's it, and it's on the second page. Considering it's Friday night, TMNT should be promoted on the first page. But nothing, no "new episode tonight, check your local listings" and, my DVR isn't even picking up Buried Secrets, at all. I thought the reran the episodes on Sundays. Well, if they do, my system is not seeing it. I agree with you, Nick is the reason why the show is so low in the ratings. When it was doing fine in the beginning, they took it away from it's slot to build a fanbase for their other shows, and then they kept on bouncing TMNT around, so it shouldn't be of no surprise that the ratings are crashing. Sad thing, this is something networks do to shows that A-are getting poor ratings to begin with, so are trying other venues, but TMNT was not this case initially, or B-, it's a show someone in power doesn't want to deal with anymore, so they bounce it around on purpose in hopes the viewership would drop, and then they can use that as reason to cancel. Either way, I am having this sinking feeling, that someone at Nick loving thier Spongebob, but doesn't much care for TMNT.

I still remember when the show originally started, as we were finishing up high school, and then going on about "That concept is too stupid to last. Let's go watch Pokemon!" lol

Pokemon isn't surprising. The series as a whole gained way more popularity than expected (it was originally supposed to have ended after the first movie, to my knowledge) in Japan, and as long as the show has the source material to pull from (the games), it'll always have an animated series to help promote it. Once the games stop being made, the series probably will too. One of my adult students (she's in her 20s) really like Pokemon, but hasn't watched the anime itself since the first generation, but she still enjoys the games.

That aside, kinda sucks that it seems like the network is more into promoting their own original Nicktoon shows (Spongebob, that Sanjay and Craig you guys mention, etc.) as opposed to the other stuff on the network.

Pokemon also probably has Nintendo backing the anime financially if they have to, since the anime's ratings are nowhere as good as they used to be even in Japan.

It's usually always ranked in the top 10 animated shows along with stuff like Sazae-san, Chibi Maurko-chan, Detective Conan, and Crayon Shin-chan. All shows that are 10+ years old. Sazae-san started back in the late 1960s and based on a comic strip that ran from 1946 - 1974 (I would personally like to read these). The series is still popular even now, hence why the animated series is still around and high-ranking. Sazae-san is to Japan, what The Simpsons (probably) is to the US.

You know, thinking about it, I'm a little surprised that Crayon Shin-chan is still around, given that the manga-ka was killed a few years ago. I thought they ended the manga after his death. The manga ran from 1990 - 2010. He was killed 2009. Maybe they continued the manga somehow with a new author. *shrugs*

Anyway, not sure about Pokemon now entirely. Still seems you can't go anyplace without seeing something from the anime around here, from bento boxes, bento covers, chopsticks, book bags, shoes, cup ramen and candy, coloring books, stickers, tissues, etc. The anime itself is shown a lot too. Many reruns of the previous series on stations like Kids Station and I think every Saturday or Sunday they air movies. I'm usually not home during the day, but when I have been home, if I flip through the stations and come to Kids Station, seems Pokemon is on.
