If so, I'd be interested in having a look at them.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy four Raphs?

no it wouldn't

1)the skin color would be the same
2)the eyes would look the same
3)the facial expresion would be the same

Another disadvantage to just using Raph figures is that they'd all have the same arms and it looks like he isn't capable of holding Don's bo staff.

a couple points...

JUst b/c it's 4 raphs does not mean the exact same figure, just 4 different Raphs (original, Open-Shell, talking, etc). Which is probably what 138 meant.

Also, since we're talking about Mirage turtles (i.e., red bandanas) the skin color and most features SHOULD be similar/same just as they are in the comics.

To answer the topic, i've never modded but thought about rounding up 4 raphs like 138 said.

I've thought about it but then i realized, "Hey i suck at painting". But it would be cool if someone did this.

When I can find the time to spare, I plan to do just this. I'm gonna use the new figs as the base and give them all the same skin color in addition to their red bandanas for the very reasons that impetus gave.

I haven't decided wether or not to use one of each new figure or to just go with four Raphaels. IMO, the scowls would well suit the feel of a Mirage TMNT set. The application of a little putty to alter each Turtle's scowl just a little before applying the paint would do the trick for altering their expressions a little. I'm planning to make their belts and weapons from scratch as well.

Will do, impetus. I'm kicking myself right now for not hitting TRU's $4.99 TMNT sale last week . . . that woulda been a good time to score some figs for customizing. I put my cell phone through the washing machine and had to buy a new one, so I really wasn't in the mood to be spending more money. Yes, I am an idiot.

I did exactly that when the first wave came out. I think I might have even posted pics back then, but hell if I can remember now (and I know for a fact I've wiped them from the hard drive. I even modified Leo's sword sheaths so that they were both on one side, like the Mirage book...

Sad thing is, after I posted, I tried a blackwash on them, and ruined both Don and Leo with the effect, so I scrapped all four figs. I was planning on doing a second set with "Tricertaon Energy Wepaons" using GIJoe Extreme guns, but those weapons are all that remains of both projects (the weapons are unfinished at that, because the turtes' hands scratched them up after awhile.

Sad, sad days. I've only recently learned of Dullcoat, a protective overspray that doesn't dry shiney.. before Dullcoat, I used the blackwash to "seal in" the paint, because the water/paint combo seemed to dry into the plastic, and adhere better, but with these figures, that just didn't happen, *and* the paint darkened to the point that it looks dirty, not just darker...

I may do another batch when the armored turtles arrive (with more articulation... yay! The armor figures may even get repaints with the snap-on parts, to further the Energy Weapon concept...
