Nice collection, dude - looks like you've been working on it for a while! :tgrin:

actually i started on the 2012 series in mid july. i just have what my friends call search luck. also i work at walmart, i try and keep my eye out for stuff. i also got lucky at a local comic shop that had about half of the old turtles figures going for about $3 to $4 bucks each. aside from werewolf leo, he was $8 but worth it.
i also have some cells from the episode cat woman from channel 6.

Where in all gods name do I get that super-giant figure? :teek: Never seen one like that before

if your talking about the one holding the movies thats the mutations base.
the one i just posted i found at a thrift store for 5 bucks.

[Meow]

Yes Sir! Exactly that one! About to explode again because that one is simply not available in the EU .... like with so many other ones, again! 5 bucks you say and I'm sitting here watching the Toys'r'Us UK site for 99,99 and still no way to obtain that item within the EU. Not sure if "Arrggghh" or "GRRR!!!" :(

So or so: Thank you so much for the quick reply going into detail

Edit: Ok, I need to calm down. Really need to calm down. People selling that one for 180+ euros (euros!!) on eBay. That is way beyond anything acceptable, seriously

[TheCanadiandrome]

Liking the new items

[lonewarrior20]

got some new stuff and even won some manga from mirage studios. they even sent me a free leo plushi. also decided to upload what comics i have, their not in the best of shape but i find em where i can. the first one i ever got was the one that came with a cassette tape to read along.

5 bucks!! :teek::teek: Wow! that is dirt cheap for a thrift store. My thrift stores would definitely have been charging a bit more than that for something that big. The people at that store must have been wasted, not knowing what price they were putting on the toy.

Great find!:tcool:

a bad thing happened this weekend. My apartment burned and is now unlivable. I got out unharmed and the firefighters were able to rescue my cat but the kitchen and living room were basicly destroyed. I lost my animation cels I had hanging up and my ninja turtle room and bedroom were hit with bad smoke damage. Thankfully I have renters insurance but it still hurts. As I type this I’m at the library because of the loss of my computer and most of my games/systems were in the living room along with my movie collections. This does not mean that the otaku shack is dead though. I’m going to see what I can save and most of my manga was in storage. I just don’t know what will be at anime-zap this year. But I’m still going to try my best. As of right now I’m living back home with my parents until I can find a new place and get my life back in order.

Here’s a picture of some of the damage.

my condolences dude, but I'm glad to read that you and your Cat are ok Mate. I'll be sending postive vibes and well wishes your way. good luck my friend

[lonewarrior20]

Thought i'd give you an update. The figures are cleaning pretty good. I think the layer of dust protected them against the smoke soot. I've been scrubbing them with a toothbrush and blue dawn soap and with the electric ones i'very been using a spray called krud kutter. Its working really well. Lots of work but with the house i'm looking at the new turtle room will look amazing.

[TheCanadiandrome]

that's so good to hear dude. I wish you luck

[lonewarrior20]

got the house in November but have had to do a lot of remodeling, replacing almost all the plumbing and other repairs. my anime convention that I help put on was at the beginning of january. finally started on the turtle room last week. painted the walls, fixed the metal trim around a window and laid down new tile and even have tmnt themed curtains. finally put my tmnt arcade together and have started painting and assembling the shelves I salvaged from my apartment. hope to have pictures in the coming weeks.

[TheCanadiandrome]

awesome dude, glad things are turning around and coming together

[lonewarrior20]

its been a few month since I got a home and I finally got the tmnt room done. god I had so much to salvage and clean.
I did the best I could to save the cels.

got lucky and found bebop and rocksteady at my local nerd shop.

What stores do you hit out in Pekin nowadays? I'm just curious as to the "Collectors Shop" footprint out that way...

Cool collection, btw. :)

nice, cool vintage video store vibe almost. Reminds me of James/Cinemasscre theater room.

[TheCanadiandrome]

wow you have an enviable collection sir

[Slade]

DBZ vhs...nice! :tthumbsu:

DBZ vhs...nice! :tthumbsu:

I'm a sucker for those connective spine artwork on VHS sleeves. DVDs just couldn't pull it off as well.

found some cool stuff yesterday. Ironically on the way home my truck started sounding rough in the front end area so now i get to try out a friends mechanic, here's hoping it's simple and not to much. i know it's not the engine and i've had a number of things replaced this year on the drive system. edit, the other bearing hub assembly is going out, got the part for about 50 and should have it replaced next week.

yeah, i got a little bit of space left, it's a one story 3 bedroom house, I got lucky that it was forclosed after my apartment fire and was able to use my renters insurance to put a down payment and only have a 10 year morgage. i work at walmart as a lowly associate. actually you'd be surprised what you'd find at garage sales and thrift stores, also trading. the only really expensive stuff has been the loot crate and neca stuff. this is also a collection thats been building over the years.

Thanks for sharing so much! As an EU guy I have no idea what life in the US is like. What does it mean exactly when you say things were "forclosed"? I think I understood the rest of what you said, although it sounds painful, even if it might only have been for your landlord.

the bank repossessed the house because of the owners failed to pay the mortgage, and due to circumstances from it being on market so long due to it being both a fixer upper and it was too low for most people to get a mortgage for it due to the price dropping on it i was able to go through a small bank to buy the house. it was all a matter of luck and god.

Thank you a lot! Got the full picture now and can only congratulate on that :tsmile: There are lots of houses around here that would change owner for little amount of money easily, but as you mentioned it - fixer uppers everywhere and that investment most people don't like to take. Unless you're a professional in the crafts one would need.

Nice! You got Mona Lisa, She comes with two heads, One where she's happy looking, and the other being more angry, So you can do different type of poses with her.

The box-art on that Casey-Phantom figure is awesome.

I love that you still have the Fred Wolf VHS tapes down there. The artwork on the old VHS covers is gorgeous. I'd even buy a hardcover book collecting all of them if there was some back-up material to go along.

Their what i built to adapt to the space in the room and a good chunk of them are what i was able to salvage from my apartment fire. i'm quite happy with them.

That is actually pretty cool... I didn't know you were reclaiming materials from the fire and using them. So does that account for a lot of your shelving now basically?

at least for the turtle room and a good chunk of the theater, the library and the rest was a mixture of pine and discount shelve panels that i got at menards and built it all to what i wanted. i work at walmart so i work with what i can afford.
