So how do y'all catalogue comics digitally? Any tips? I just write them in my notepad on my iPhone and I know there's an app for that but it's 15$ and I've bought so much more since I put them away on my shelf. I'm looking for a barcode scanning cataloger Or something similar.

Do you mean create an organised list of your comics etc? Or do you mean how do you arrange them for reading?

If the former, you can use things like databases to catalogue things like that. There are also organisational tools online. If the latter, I just arrange comics by folders, based on comic, then each volume, and each issue. On my tablet I use a great app called Comicat - it's about $2.50 and it syncs your tablet to arrange all your issues on a bookshelf. I've downloaded the DRM free CBZs of comics from Comixology to read offline and this works great. It really is a fantastic app and MeanLabs, who created it, are very proactive. The only real problem is that the folder structure is only one level, so you can't arrange events into sections.

Keeping a list basically, with the cover so I know what I have. I've bought so many more I lost track of what I own

I'm not sure then. Hmmm. There will be things out there no question, but I've never read about it. Possibly people more knowledgeable about the subject than I might be along to help in a while.

Might also be worth reposting this in the comic section, where they know more about the ins and outs of the business and what sort of software is available. I read comics but lots of people who post in the general turtle section do not.

Try PMing people like plastroncafe, Powder, Leo656, MsMarvelDuckie and others. They seem to know lots about the comic business. They probably know of some programs.

I find it's much easier to keep a list of what I don't have. :tlol: I take it with me to cons & whatnot.

I use an Android App called CBI
CBI on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyingspheres.android.inventory&hl=en)

There's no barcode scanner, and there's a bit of a learning curve to dealing with it, but you can back up your collection to a spreadsheet and it gives weekly pull lists that sort to a shopping list that in turn automatically add to your collection.

I quite like it.

I just keep scans of all my comics. Whenever I get new comics I scan them before putting them away. I have yet to finish scanning all the comics I had before I came up with this idea, because truth be told, scanning is very tedious and boring. So I can only do it once in a while.

Otherwise I have a Word document to keep track of comics. I've updated it since the mid-90s. I don't mess with it much nowadays since I don't collect much anymore.

That's what i do, and it's oh so satisfying ticking off that list!
