View Full Version : Do you believe those real-life aliens with the gray skin and black eyes exist?

So at this point I think most people agree there is other life in the universe even though we've never found it yet. Whether it just be bacteria, or animals or insects...most people agree there is life out there somewhere.

However this thread is about the "intelligent" aliens who have supposedly been visiting earth for thousands of years. We all know what they look like. The small grey beings with huge black eyes and domed heads. They're the most common agreed upon look as to what "real" aliens actually look like.

Do you believe in those real-life aliens? You can google them and see hundreds of art sketches of what they look like.

Nope. That's just how us humans imagine them to be like. And I doubt they all have the same flyer sauces either. For all we know, other planets might be similar to ours in terms of political structure(many nations, languages, etc.) or even something completely different.

Nah, those aren't aliens - they're humans from the future with the advent of time travel after messing with human genetics waaaaay too much, so they've come back to try to figure out how to fix what they did. :P

Really though, no. I think it's probably beyond likely that other life, including intelligent life, exists, but I doubt if they'd ever be coming here. Vast universe, I suppose something looking like that somewhere isn't entirely of the question, but who knows.

I don't know which thread in this section I find weirder. This or the Apollo Moon landing one...

But in answer to the question: No, I don't.

I don't know. I assume that any aliens would be too far away to reach Earth. I believe that there is life on other planets, out there in the universe. There may be a multiverse too. I just don't think we will meet any of these aliens.

BubblyShell22

No, I don't believe in those type of aliens at all. It would be cool if aliens did land on Earth, but I don't think they'd want to. Could there be aliens on other planets? Maybe, but not one of them have landed on Earth yet, and until they do, I won't believe it.

Since the human race has barely been around compared to the trillions of years the universe has existed, its possible alien life started long ago and have like a million year head-start over humans in terms of when they existed.

So it is possible they've created spaceships that allow them to cover vast distances of space quickly. Just like what we humans have now was unthinkable to people back in the 1500's....you think they ever thought man would leave the planet?

Real-life aliens.

Leo656
12-19-2014, 05:32 PM
Whether or not aliens exist in "real-life" isn't a question. Yes, they do, it's a mathematical certainty, if the universe is as big as it seems. The circumstances that allowed life to exist here positively have to exist elsewhere, even if it's somewhere so far away we would never even know about it.

Keep in mind, "alien life" is a very broad definition that could just as easily include anything from full-blown humanoids to microscopic bacteria. But it's certain that *something* is alive out there somewhere. People's disbelief in that idea is rooted in the arrogant belief that the human species is somehow unique and superior instead of, essentially, an evolutionary accident.

As to whether or not those particular "aliens" everyone talks about actually exist and have been here... I dunno, I kinda don't think so. I think they'd have made a bigger deal of themselves. Why go to the trouble to travel halfway across the universe and then do nothing at all once you get there? Surely more than a few sketchy rednecks would'a seen something.

But who knows? Anything is possible.

Isn't it pretty much a fact that such minor forms of life exist in other planets of our galaxy? Haven't they found something like that on Mars not so many years ago or am I mistaken?

I was gonna mention that but didn't because I don't remember the facts of it. I do believe they found crystalized water on Mars which may have contained bacteria. But I didn't remember the entire story so I didn't bother, just in case I had it wrong.

Still, life is life. Other Life exists in the universe, definitely. If there's bacteria, then there's probably much more than that.

They've found water/ice on one of Jupiter's moons that is speculated to have sea life.

I've always been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe, especially aliens but do I think big-headed, bug-eyed, gray-skinned aliens exist? Maybe, but probably not. It's such a common description of aliens in media and while I don't know who started it, it most likely came from the mind of man. As for alien life, I'd say sure. I don't know for a fact but it sure is interesting to think about given the scope of the universe. For all we know, we are one of a kind. There's also this common belief/thinking that aliens are super intelligent that I just don't agree with. Yeah, if there is life out there it's a possibility but just think about the first known life on this planet (at least on land). Big dinosaurs. Who's to say there isn't a planet out there with humongous beasts still roaming around?

Sometimes, but mostly just when I'm not busy.

We only used to have the one laptop, and it was hers, so when I used to get sick I literally had nothing to do but sit around thinking about how sick I was. Which is super-depressing. But she got a new one and gave me the old one a few months ago. I been pretty sick but at least the last few days on here there's been a few laughs, a few fights, and some actual good conversation in between, so it's actually really helped a lot, no joke. :)

Do I believe in the "greys"? Yes, and no. I DO know for a certainty (bear with me, guys) that yes, there IS life on other planets, and yes, it HAS visited us many times. You may think I'm nuts, but here's why.....

Many years ago, when I was about 12 or so (I forget the exact year) my mom and I and one of my parents' friends from their circle of camping buddies went for a "girls' weekend" along with the other lady's daughter. We went up to Lake Murray in Ok, set up camp the first day- to find that two of the tent poles were missing. We spent the first night in the van, on a foam mattress in the back. And that's when we SAW IT.

About 3 AM, (give or take) we were awake (cause all four crammed into a small space, plus we'd been talking until late) the friend's daughter looked out the window, and got our attention to see what was outside. There was a large, yellowish ball of light zipping about over, around, and beyond the lake. (Seriously, it was all over the place.) This thing was flashing like a strobe, streaking from one spot to another, or just sitting in one spot hovering all at various times. After watching it for a minute or two, we all got out of the van and started slowly walking down to the beach for a better look. At times, it would even slowly fade in and out while moving, or disappear on one side, only to reappear in a second or two on the other. Mind this is over a fair-sized lake.

And then came the REAL shocker- a fisherman out on a night run in a small fishing boat- you know the kind, the little one or two-man aluminum boats with nothing but a tiny outboard motor that's usually no more than fifteen HP- came trolling over toward where it sat, suspended several feet above the water over the lake, and turned on a spotlight at it. The spotlight worked for a few seconds, before seeming to suddenly sputter, fade, and finally just winked out entirely with a buzz that was audible even from where we were. The guy VERY hastily started his motor and tore out of there like the proverbial bat out of Hell. Don't know what HE saw, but just a few seconds later, the ball shot straight UP, and disappeared for good.

When I originally told this to my husband after we first got together, he didn't believe me. Then we had a job for a pizza franchise in Sherman, and the owner asked if we could go help get his store in Ardmore Ok get their $h*t together for a week or two, and while we were there, he had to drive down the highway that passes the RV park we had stayed at when my mom and I were on that trip. HE SAW IT TOO. It wasn't over the lake that time, but when he came back to our hotel room and told me what he'd seen, he apologized for not believing me, and said that it had done the same things I'd seen years earlier- zipping, flashing, fading in and out, moving randomly or sitting still- above the trees. And the radio and engine of his truck had started acting funny and then gone dead. It wouldn't start again until the ball took off- again, going straight UP.

True story. And no one was drinking or anything, we were all wide awake, sane, and saw the same thing. Same with my other half, but he was alone.

I agree that it's impossible to believe we're the only life out there as I just don't see it. But I don't know if aliens would do the invasion thing we've seen in countless movies. I feel that the UFO sightings could be aliens observing our planet but not wanting to invade or do harm.

Actually, Cubed, they DO. Google Marfa lights, Phoenix Az sightings, Mexico City, or Moscow sightings. There's Toronto, Dallas, and other cities that have had sightings, too. The US rural areas don't have a monopoly on UFO's- we just tend to notice them more than up north where there are more lights to obscure them.

Edit- and my hubby just reminded me that there have been sightings over Mt. Shasta in CA, and Mt Rainier as well.

Um, that's just a common evolutionary adaptation. Just about every living animal on the planet fits that description. (Except some lower-order animals. I'm talking about things like worms, slugs, and the like here.) Anything with a backbone (aka almost any vertebrate) has those attributes. Not especially unique to humans, y'know....
