That was great, but gotta agree with TrickorTreater, this "kids movie" mentality is stupid. Do people hate their kids that much that film's this bad are ok as they're made for kids? News flash - so is Disney, so is Pixar, so is Star Wars! Being a kids film is no excuse for being a bad film. If anything you've got more responsibility to get it right not an excuse to get it wrong/not care.

Oh and I'd happily watch the Ninja Rap on a loop for an hour and a half rather than the 2014 mess so Turtles definitely were "better in my day" (at least on the big screen)

That literally makes no sense.

That wouldn't be them getting the Turtles spirits right in the first place! We are talking about character portrayals.

And yet the Turtles barely even featured in their own bad movie.

Kinda sorta getting the Turtles right on the most basic level doesn't make up for the awfulness of the rest of it.

And I'm not talking about JUST on a filmmaking level. Important Ninja Turtle lore is completely erased in favor of some half-assed, poorly conceptualized and executed made-from-whole-cloth new backstory that makes Megan Fox the holy center of this movie's universe.

Even IDW, in all their origin changing, was able to keep the Saki/Yoshi dynamic.

Yoshi doesn't even exist in this universe. The director made that painfully clear.

And of course, as I mentioned previously, it's a poorly made MOVIE too. The video brought a lot of that to attention though.

I didn't think they got the spirit right anyway. Leo does nothing, Raph is closest to normal but never has a going off on his own because he's pissed at his brothers, Mikey is a creep and Don is way to over the top nerdy.

I never even watched the movie. Just the trailer was enough to convince me it was going to suck. Of course some sheeple liked it and blamed everyone who didn't like it for "hating change". But come on. This movie has 0 integrity.

Honestly, the little kid voice with the "You know it's for kids, right?" I've always heard that voice in my head whenever people type the exact same thing to defend it. :lol:

I honestly never looked at any of those Honest Trailers videos before. My wife and I went around watching a ton of the trailers for other movies we like or want to see, and I gotta say, not only are they super-clever, not ONE WORD about any of those movies is wrong. :lol: I almost died watching The Lion King one.

So what if it's poking fun at a property you love? I still love those movies. I love them MORE since I can recognize that they're far from perfect and a lot of those "flaws" are pretty hard to ignore. Usually the good stuff overpowers the bad stuff.

I didn't watch them all, but it seemed like they had to really reach for the Ghostbusters one. That was the only one where it was like they ran out of flaws, especially because it's not even dated visually. All they had was "Casual Smoking" and "They cropped out the Token Black Guy", that one kinda let me down. Just because the rest were such a riot.

It happens. :lol: I give 'em credit for trying. They put together a great presentation from all the ones I watched, regardless. Some movies are clearly easier to pick apart than others. The Superman IV one was great. "Seriously... these are all the same shot." :lol:
