Just wondering how much my poor parents spent on this crap now that I've finally been bored enough to watch it on Youtube. When I saw it live as a six year old I thought it was pretty bad.

No idea, but one thing is for sure: it cost more than it should have.

I was skipping stones lol.

It was all around bad. But you have to recall during Turtle mania, you can put ninja turtles on ANYTHING and we would have bought that stuff up pretty quick.

As Don said in TMNTIII its a good thing it was not a steamy pile of(Don't say it Don as April mention)

Yeah they could of put Ninja Turtles on that, and we still would have bought it.

You had to be there.

I can't remember what it cost, we saw it at Six Flags Great Adventure, but even though it was the cheesiest sh*t ever, there wasn't a kid in the place who wasn't going berserk. Not for nothin', but the movies WISHED they could elicit that kind of excited response from their target audience. Just sayin'.

well it's a good thing that "you had to be there" isn't a good excuse

Pokemon live was even better than Out of our Shells

Prove it. :P

And I know I'm biased, but I find it hard to believe that "Pokemon Anything" could ever be better than "Ninja Turtles Anything". By definition, that's... impossible.

One thing I kind of loved about the show, having just watched it again, was the part where the Turtles get all despairing and literally say something like "well why don't we just go kill ourselves?"

 You would never hear that sort of thing now. Oh the 90s.

According to these links, tickets were $18.50 in the Chicago area and $14.75 in Pittsburgh. LA and NY were probably closer to $20 I would imagine.

But reviews can vary and people often forget what its like before they see it for the first time. I'm not sure of the tickets itself, but the Turtle Masks at Radio City were $6 and the katanas were $8. Many reviews were actually not that bad.

Here was the LA Times review of the event:

Ticket price when I went and saw the show...I cannot remember, but the song "Skipping Stones" by Splinter was my favorite along with Pizza Power." I would have to look up the plot of the show to bring back memories or see it on YouTube as mentioned.

pokemon had a song about boning officer jenny and nurse joy

and the pokemon one actually put in the effort to change the stage and put the characters in different places.

also, Pokemon trainers didn't give up their pokeballs to change the world through the power of music

According to an inflation calculator I found online, that comes out to $33.43 and $26.65 in today's money. Considering the quality of the TMNT live show, that's not as bad as I expected.

I wonder how much it cost on PPV. I remember watching it once as a kid. I think I was entertained by it, but had no desire to re-watch it.

I can understand, but I would think it was fantastic if my parents brought me to a tour based on my favourite cartoon.

My parents bought us the VHS when it came out... I couldn't believe how horrible it was. I remember my little brother looking at my dad and saying "what happened to the turtles?!" lmao

I asked that same question "What happened to the Turtles" when I saw the show...I asked myself: they fought with guitars and lyrics? Toss the ninja weapons aside and sing a tune :D
