Well, looks like we're back to the usual Kraang Invasion battles in New York. Let's hope the boys actually Make some sort of progress....Does it really matter if they don't? I'm all for a bit of realism. If they go and bust in without an actual plan, I could see them legit failing. Going in, failing, regrouping, replanning, and then heading back in and coming out victorious, no problem.

Easily the best episode of the season and Top 5 all time for me. Loved every but of it.

Baxter in action again. Splinter losing his mind. Shredder clones. I'm glad this wasn't 'Return to New York' in name only.

The scene with Shredder talking to the Turtles/Splinter at the end reminded me of the scene at the construction site in Secret of the Ooze.

Next week looks great too with Bebop and Rocksteady coming.

It seems like Shredder is also losing his mind over Karai, which is why he hadn't done anything in months and Tiger Claw was wondering what he was waiting for.

This episode really did explain a lot of the plotholes we were curious about. It might not have worked perfectly but in the context of the show it was done well. EPF mind-controlled, NYC on lockdown from the rest of the world, what Shredder was doing, where Splinter was, etc.

Holy crap that was awesome episode it was intense, I kept on holding my breath. The music is getting better and better.

Love the new updated inrto.

Love the new turtle van.

Donnie hugging Dr Cluckingsworth, who's staying behind.

OMG Splinter gone feral and April gets through to him.

Holy crap, mutated shredder clones and one of them is killed by falling into a fan. :o

Loved the deer that breaths fire and burns Tiger Claw.

Trust Mikey to find a place to stay, abandoned Antonio's Pizza place.

K, just finished watching it.

There! Every "complaint" that people had for the last two months has been brought to light.

No Splinter? He went mad and reverted to his rat-side, disconnecting his human mind/soul from his body, making the scene all the more surprising.

Why isn't the EPF doing anything about the Kraang? Mind controlled. Probably got their butts handed to them.

Millions of people gone? Possible alternate "merged" dimension where they're being held. Makes sense to me. (I watch a lot of "Doctor Who." Stuff like this doesn't confuse me as much as it used to).

Karai's whereabouts are still up in the air. Maybe she did try to help Splinter, but he acted so much like a rat that she couldn't get through to him and feared that she'd give into to her Snake-form out of frustration....or hunger.

LOVE the opening! I was getting a bit tired of seeing Spike on Raph's shoulder since he's been Slash since the middle of season 2.

Shredder clones. K, honestly didn't see that coming. At first, I thought the "Shrimp Shredder" (OH! LET'S CALL HIM "SHRIMPER!") was going to be Kraang Sup-Prime.

And I love how Stockfly's lab is like a giant zoo.

Mikey wanting to hide out in an abandoned pizza joint. Why does this not surprise me? (I guess this will explain the return of Pizza Face later...)

Also, is Mondo Gecko SUPPOSED to be bad? I thought he was an ally?

All in all, I think we can finally breathe a sigh of relief that the show has not completely jumped the shark. The first 7 or so episodes was just to make the producers happy and get the fillers out of the way so they can make a complete 26-episode season.

Hope Splinter at some point updates the boys on what he recalls going on with the city prior to losing his mind, as well as what - beyond the grief of believing his kids were gone, which I assume was also a factor - drove him so far as to entirely lose touch with his humanity.

Interesting outcome of what he meant by being disconnected from his body though.

How did they cram that much amazing in one episode? Wow, just wow! I loved the whole thing and it's completely made up for the first 7 episodes.

I was surprised to see the new intro, but it was due as they have changed. Seth has become Leo now and I'm good with him. It fits his new mature attitude.

I love that Leo says to find Splinter and then Karai, I figured they wouldn't even discuss Karai for a few episodes, but maybe they are going to get her back sooner rather than later.

I loved how April used her powers on purpose, she harnessed them and now they will probably use them a lot more.

I loved Baxter's new lab, the shrimp Shredder was a nice surprise for us all, the new party wagon, although I miss the Shellraiser, the wagon is in line with the movie turtles.

So much to love, that I couldn't take it all in with just the one viewing. They explained everything that we were complaining about. I wish I had trusted them to come through in the end, but I panicked.

I also think they will be wearing their vision quest costumes again at some point. Didn't they show a sneak peak with at least Leo wearing his? I would love to see them donning them from time to time.

How will Karai be now? I'm curious if she will still be Karai inside, both she and Leo are different and will have to get to know each other all over again.

It was okay. There was a lot that could be torn apart in a screenwriting class.

Everything happened to occur on the day the Turtles headed back. In the real world that's called coincidence. Here, it's called lazy writing.

Another illegal vehicle by New York law. In real life, that thing would get pulled over and impounded in about 20 minutes. The world doesn't just shut down when bad things happen. We have plenty to remind us that.
Asking where everybody in New York is, something we've asked since the first episode.
Why didn't the first MOUSERS call for reinforcements? In a taser fight, numbers win every time.
The Shredder clones really needed an explanation, because otherwise they're just a hollow excuse to show that time has passed. Baxter's plan? Shredder's wardrobe? Why not just clone Karai and kill the old mutant then? Sure, she'll still be a snake woman, but at least she'll be your snake woman from birth.

And who took the picture of Shredder and Karai? It's cute, but there's no way Shredder is into the Instagram game. And we know you love your daughter so much that you locked her up and dangled her over mutagen. Love you too, Dad.

But whatever, screenshots.

Because this really matters.

The world doesn't just shut down when bad things happen. We have plenty to remind us that.

This I can agree with, but there's no other way for the show to handle an entire city in ruins without the rest of the world budding in.

Asking where everybody in New York is, something we've asked since the first episode.
You know why this is.

Will have to catch this again to take in all the details more. Was Shredder even aware that Baxter tried to clone him? On one hand I could see him having enough ego to think the more there is of him the better; on the other hand I can't see him wanting the threat to his position and uniqueness if a clone had ideas other than taking orders.

Leatherhead is also in the new opening. So its a hint that he's alive.

1) Looks like Shredder anticipated the possibility that Splinter survived their battle by sending Foot-Bots into the sewers. 2) Creating a new lab is probably Stockman-Fly's way of coping with the loss of his old one. Why has nobody mentioned the fact that he was talking about creating his own retromutagen? 3) I think those Shredder clones originated from the 2003 series.

Speaking of the 2003 series, I'm still waiting for Agent Bishop to show up.

Haha, the Shredder clones! Nice touch that they're shellfish mutants this time around, certainly explains the anatomical oddities better than worms.

Although like with the 4Kids version of them, it's pretty bizarre they even exist. Yeah it was probably weirder that an Utrom decided to make humanoid things in replica armor, but they don't seem to serve much purpose here either and I wonder why Shredder would even allow these things to be made. At least the comic explained it, they were failed resurrection attempts, in both animated instances they're just there because it's iconic...

I loved this episode!

I don't know why if its because we haven't really seen Leo in a real ~Leader mode~ for a while, but he seems different. Def more mature. Maybe it's just the voice :D

Seeing Master Splinter all crazy was weird.....was not expecting that. Wonder what happened...Did Karai just save him from drowning then split...hmmmm

Also question, there was a point in the episode where they were in the lair, and Leo tells Mikey to stay with April and Casey while him and the others go explore the lair....does anyone wonder why?

cannot wait to rematch this in a few days.

I expect they didn't want Mikey wandering off to his room as they knew it would be probably dangerous and they were right with that Kraang Security thing.

That episode was AMAZING! It was pretty much everything that I was expecting from the Return to New York. I absolutely loved the Shredder clones. While I haven't read the Mirage comic they are introduced in, I instantly recognized them because I'm currently watching the 2k3 for the first time (it was on before I was a fan).
Just an all-around great episode. It shocked me to see that Splinter had gone insane. That was something I never saw coming.
I wonder if Stockman will succeed with his retromutagen, or will it cause more problems?
Also the new intro = A++, but I'm still really going to miss the old one. This show has come so far and it needed to change the intro to fit that. And my jaw dropped when I saw it.
While I liked the new intro, it reminded me of how the OT got a new one in season 4 or so (and I hated that one).
I'll give this episode a 9.5/10. I knew this show would bounce back to its original quality, though I did like a majority of Northampton. :D

Alright, no Zog, but this episode is awesome!
How would Zog even fit? Don't you kind of need to do the Fugitoid story first? Oh I would love to see an alien world that is not just some lovecraftian weirdness in this show, it does not really have to be D'hoonnib.

What's in the new intro? What's changed? Has the entire intro been revamped? Is Karai still shown as a "villain" along with Tigerclaw, Fishface,Rahzar, etc.?
Karai is still shown as a villain, I guess they'll alter that part soon enough to fit Bebop, Rocksteady and Hun. Or maybe Karai goes back to being a villain, who knows?

I'm really liking that Tiger Claw is doubting Shredder, maybe we'll see Tiger Claw betray Shredder sometime in the future? Maybe convince Xever and Bradford that Shredder is completely out of his flipping mind and needs to be taken out?
Probably, obviously the Turtles can't do any of the stuff they did to him in the comics to defeat him, so having the other villains do it would be a nice subsitute.

awesome episode the turtles are back baby and i so glad master spilnter was restored by the end of the episode i missed him so much.

but man leo katanas were destoryed again usually the reforging of the katanas is a big moment but poof leo lost another pair.

and why in gods name would they leave professor cluckingworth behind it almost as smart if not a tad smarter than donnie and they need all the advantages they can get!

also the new intro is awesome of course i missed rocksteady and leatherhead i need to rewatch the intro again at some point.

I could see Bebop taking that name for himself, given his odd resemblance to Michael Jackson in his human form, (come on, we were all thinking it) and maybe Shredder or someone else would name Rcksteady because he's "steady as a rock". (Rhinos are pretty big and strong)

So where will Leo get a replacement set of swords?

he's clearly shown with some in the clip for the next episode

why go through the trouble of showing him breaking one and then losing one if they are just going to be replaced so easily? Do you guys think it will be a part of the story in any way or will he just magically have them back?

It doesn't matter how Mikey names things when we all know the series is going to end with April mind-shouting chicken memories into every single Kraang.

Because her power is having powers. I just wish she'd hurry up and do it already. But no, at least six seasons and a movie, because money.

I expect they didn't want Mikey wandering off to his room as they knew it would be probably dangerous and they were right with that Kraang Security thing.

I actually found the episode online! and i think you're kinda right, Mikey was acting kinda of scared and i guess loud throughout the episode, I guess Leo thought he would be too loud and blow their cover.

But yeah, i think i could rewatch this episode all week....i actually love it so much! I agree that it's one of the best episodes of the series so far!

Everything happened to occur on the day the Turtles headed back.

Yes. Because those things happened when the Turtles came back. They were the catalyst for them happening.

That's not coincidence or lazy writing.

Another illegal vehicle by New York law. In real life, that thing would get pulled over and impounded in about 20 minutes.

...wat

The world doesn't just shut down when bad things happen. We have plenty to remind us that.

wat

Asking where everybody in New York is, something we've asked since the first episode.

April literally said this. If I understood correctly, most of them have been mutated, while a few 100 or so have not been.

Why didn't the first MOUSERS call for reinforcements? In a taser fight, numbers win every time.

The mousers fighting Splinter? Maybe they were about to once they found him and he attacked before they could.

Who cares?

The Shredder clones really needed an explanation

They weren't clones. They were Shredder mutants. Baxter literally said this. Baxter mutated them for security. He also said that.

You don't really pay much attention do you?

And who took the picture of Shredder and Karai?

Who took the picture of Yoshi, Shen and Miwa?

Who took the picture of The Turtles and Splinter?

Who cares?

Anyone catch the line of Baxter working on retromutagen to try to change himself back into a human?

Yep.

Calling it now, either the Turtles will get their hands on it in hopes of retro mutating Karai or they'll create their own and try to retro mutate her but it won't work. Or Shredder will capture Karai and Baxter will be unable to retro mutate her.

Because of whatever Baxter accidently did to the snake mutagen before Karai got mutated.

For the most part, I really havent liked this season. There have been three or four eps that I have enjoyed, but, yeah, so glad we are back to NYC.

Excellent episode! :D Absolutely loved the music, and the fighting was awesome. I've been expecting Splinter to be unconscious since his mind was separate from his body. Having him been a feral rat after the beating he took and the grief of losing everything...it's really sad.

If the EPF is mind controlled, I doubt we'll be seeing Agent Bishop. Not unless the few 100 people left April sense was some kind of underground resistance of a few military and locals trying to fight the Kraang and he was leading it. But that's unlikely with this series.

I'm surprised that they killed the Mutated Clones off by having Splinter push them into the fan and hear them getting chopped up.:o

So is this the first confirmed deaths in the most dark way in a kids show.
The mutant Shredders been shredded. 8) Yeah, I was shocked they actually killed them. Except for Speed Demon, every other mutant was teased to still be alive after they were 'destroyed'.

what happened to the Turtles Mystic outfits. They didn't have them the whole episode. What was the point of last weeks quest if they aren't gonna use them again.I doubt they'd put them in the intro if they weren't going to use them again. They're probably going to be used for all out fights.

Why do people complain that every episode seems rushed, do they expect every episode to be have multi parts

Mikey got disgusting treatment, worse than normal.

What the hell you talking about. I didn't see any moments when Mikey was treated badly. I only saw Mikey being Mikey. Ok he made one mistake for accidently pushing the button but everyone makes mistakes.

He was excited to be going back to New York.
He had the idea of searching for Splinter in the old lair.
He helped to calm feral Splinter down.
He stopped Baxter Stockman.
He hugged Splinter.
He used a smoke bomb so everyone can get away from Shredder.
He found a temperary home.

Yeah but I explained that in a previous post. They probably be worried he would of got too excited or maybe wondered off to his bedroom when the place could be dangerous as they haven't been there for months. Or they didn't want him getting upset because if Splinter was in the lair they wouldn't know what state he was in.

They were only protecting him that was it.

Mikey did admit later he wanted his stuff back.

Awesome episode. It's amazing that Splinter lost his mind and became his rat self, but at least he was restored. Loved the Shredder clones and how Leo stopped Splinter from fighting Shredder in the end. The reunion was touching just as I thought it would be. Oh, and Leo was shown having two swords when he said, "We have to find a place to hang our masks, Sensei." So he magically did get them back. And I loved how Mikey found Antonio's as the place to hide. As for Mikey's treatment, I think it was more that they were protecting him and making sure he wouldn't do anything rash like touch anything since he's prone to that. Overall, an awesome episode for sure. Loved it.

Loved the new episode, excuse the lack of sig and portrait, I only post rarely.

Apart from the change of scenery, the smaller things are what really made me enjoy this episode and anticipate upcoming ones.
The new intro is the biggest exiting change- the spirit quest outfits parts especially were good, and are hopefully a sign that they will be appearing again.
I like how mature Leo seems as a leader- he stops Casey from attacking the foot, he leaves Mikey with the others so his enthusiasm doesn't compromise them, e just gets everyone more organised, and no-one complains!
Mikey stops panicking halfway through being dragged around by Baxter and stops him, as well as taking the initiative with the smokebomb was cool.
Also, Leo lost his swords- a sign that the turtles are going to use their spirit quest weapons instead? Hopefully.

Definitely the best episode of the season for me- I can't wait till next week.

Good episode, nice to get back to NYC. Read all the comments made on the episode so far..agreed I'd like to have seen Leo and Shredder have a moment to glance at each other or something, other than that I really enjoyed it. Like most I was just happy to get Splinter back in the same episode! though for a moment it was indeed going to be dragged out etc. Did anyone notice that after Leo lost his swords he magically had them back when they escaped in the Party wagon? bit of a shame :P I'd hoped for a moment we were shown that doe a reason!! much like the time Raph throws them and stomps to the surface back when he meets Casey then suddenly has them again! not that its a major thing, just bugs me they'd show it then he has them back making it pointless! Looking forward to next week for sure!!

I felt they left Mikey behind because, yet again, they thought he'd screw things up. I'm getting so tired of them thinking that about him. There needs to be times when he's more mature and serious, but they want to keep him the goofy one for laughs I guess. And can someone else accidentally sound the alarm by accident? It's always Mikey. It's getting old.

Loved the episode and new intro! Super pumped to watch it, and I'm pleased with how nearly everything turned out here. I think my only nitpick was that I wish Dr. Cluckingsworth, M.D. had returned to N.Y. with them, but that's OK. I just hope it's not the last we see of her! :)
I thought for sure that Donnie would build the blimp out at the farmhouse, what with Mikey suggesting they "build a giant balloon" in the "Eyes of the Chimera" episode and the fact that they had a geyser full of (presumably) hot air right there. But obviously they're going to introduce the blimp in a different way.

I think a lot of you guys are forgetting that Mikey is loud when he isn't supposed to be

For instance, on the drive to New York he's freaking out once they get stopped, and Raph has to put his hand over Mikey's mouth in order for him to stop talking, so the Kraang people wouldn't hear them in the backseat.

and then again, he comes up to the front seat and makes a comment of being controlled by aliens(?), and one of the bros pushes him back down

THEN again, mikey says loudly after exiting the van and Leo has to shush him and tells him to be inn "full ninja mode"

So i think leo was justified when he told him to stay back.
I only noticed all this after the second viewing tho.

Someone else on here also pointed out all the good things Mikey did in the episode too, which I hadn't really realized at first. He was just really excited to get home, kind of like we were for them. Seems a lot of us were shouting and jumping around too. :) I don't blame him.

I just hope he can have times where he saves the day too. I think just tacking on a bit more dialogue on Leo's part would have saved that moment. Like "You're too excited to go in there right now." OR "We need someone out here in case we're ambushed." Anything would have helped rather than just ordering him to stay like a dog, rather than a trained Ninja.

I hope it wasn't fundoshi. That'd be even more disturbing. ><

I decided to Google these, and it was maybe one of the worst ideas I've ever had. :o

For some reason, this wasn't one of my favorite episodes- I liked the two that came before it better. That being said, it did answer a lot of questions that I know had been bugging a lot of people for a while, and it had a lot of good points.

I, too, really enjoyed the new intro. I think they were wearing their Spirit Quest costumes to hint at how much they've grown since the last time they've been in New York- they're not the same turtles who left, and that needs to be reinforced as the series continues.

When Baxter's attempting to create Retromutagen, I noticed a bunch of dead crabs on his desk. I suspect that he's been testing out the retromutagen on crustaceans, because he needs a retromutagen that works on mutants who have an exoskeleton, or exoskeleton-like properties. The crustaceans mutated instead, and he decided they'd be useful to have around.

It's possible he dressed them all like Shredder as a private "F-You" to the big guy. Shredder was the one who turned him into a fly, after all, and you can just tell that he's not too fond of the boss-man.

I really liked insane Splinter, and how the Kraang had bugged the lair in the event that the Turtles came back, because that's still Shredder's main goal. I'm wondering if maybe the Kraang haven't moved past New York because they sense that, while they can maybe sort of get away with mutating all of New York, the government would send out the really big guns if they tried to go any further. So, they've either just got to be content with just New York, or wait until they can operate on a large enough scale to take over the entire United States/the world.

awesome ep and love the new intro!! its awesome how shredders mutants/clones had the same design as the 1s from the 03

So where will Leo get a replacement set of swords?

he's clearly shown with some in the clip for the next episode

why go through the trouble of showing him breaking one and then losing one if they are just going to be replaced so easily? Do you guys think it will be a part of the story in any way or will he just magically have them back?

leos always considered his swords part of his spirit... so since they fell in the mutagen, it might be foreshadowing that its leo that gets mutated a 2nd time(i know ive been going on about secondary mutation stuff alot but cant help on wondering)

That was an amazing episode. I for one think Mikey's Antonio's idea was actually brilliant. First of all, it's shelter and second it already has a food supply. If worse comes to worse they can bathe in the sink. Plus I'm sure a restaurant in NYC has men's and women's public restrooms, which is bonus for April because we all know us girls need extra privacy at certain times if you know what I mean.
When Raph addressed Splinter as father my heart shattered in a million pieces.
Please tell me I'm not the only one that was hoping for a sword mutant, that would have been hilarious.

I did enjoy this episode and there were a few surprises. However, what happened to all the knowledge and experience the turtles had before coming back to New York? They all were supposed to be a lot wiser and stronger, especially after going through their own spirit quest. It just seemed like there wasn't enough or any improvement when it was time to put all that to use. Splinter once again destroyed all the enemies easily when the turtles couldn't handle them at all. I just felt it was a missed opportunity to show the turtles' growth.

Very well-done episode! Didn't expect that much Shredder, I thought it would be more about resisting the Kraang. The next episode seems like it will be about finding and recruiting Karai. Maybe we'll also get Metalhead, Leatherhead, and Slash? I was expecting to see Karai, Leatherhead, and Slash in the glass cases along with Splinter. Their absence was kind of shocking.

And the hiding in Antonio's! So clever!

I don't know if anyone else caught this or not. The episode description on Comcast had the generic episode description that was used for the 4Kids series, something like: "The turtles battle their arch nemesis The Shredder, who's in league with a madman Baxter Stockman." I think since the 4Kids repeats had aired recently on Nick Toons, someone goofed and thought that Nickelodeon was airing the 4Kids episode "Return To New York".

Interesting how the Shredder mutants were mutated from crabs/lobsters in this version, that explains why that one Shredder clone always had lobster claws. As we see the 4-armed goro one had a lobster shell too this time around.

The lobster claw Shredder clone never did make sense in Mirage.

As Splinter said "This isn't home, but it would serve for now"

Donnie also suggested places that have been homes for them in previous incarnations. Such as an old subway station (Season of the Ooze) and abandoned power plant (the third lair in the 2k3 incarnation)

They are likely to seek out a more perminant shelter later, but for now they have food, they have water, and if they need anything else they can probably borrow from some of the abandoned homes near by.

Making the Shredder "mutants" crustaceans might have been one of the greatest concepts this show has ever had. Pure genius. A shrimp, a lobster, & a crab. Absolutely loooooved that. I wonder what kinda gnarly faces they'd have had under the mask! Can't believe they literally threw the one to his death in a blender. That, Spooge, the show really does go under the radar sometimes, & boy do I love it. :tlol: Feral Splinter was a cool concept but I was really not looking forward to that becoming a thing for the next few episodes, so I'm glad that was resolved within 15 minutes. So glad. Baxter's lab is awesome, I wonder if much will come of it other than Bebop & Rocksteady, seems he's damn near got a whole zoo in there, if not just the proper conditions for future beasts. I really like Baxterfly, so it's cool he's gotten more shine, even at such a key time plot-wise. The new theme visuals are killer, I absolutely loved that. B&R look so badass in the black whip, too. Wish I had caught Mondo when it aired but at least I got to see the screen-cap after the fact. Sweet! It's a bit odd at first glance that he's not neon green, but I dig the realistic palette too. Did I spy the Turtle Blimp, too? Thought so. I wonder if the turtles will re-use their Vision Quest attire, given they wore it in the intro. The folks behind this show don't like models to go to waste, so I suspect they'll make at least one more appearance. Maybe in the finale or something. Anyway, yeah, the Shredders had me super hyped up, seems the Mirage nods are kinda rare these days. I hope there are more references soon. Having the boys hide out in a pizzeria is great. :tlol: The Party Wagon was cool & I love that included multiple nods to vintage Playmates gear, like the soda cannons, for example. This episode was exactly what we've needed, & I'm blown away that they were able to cram all that they did into it without anything suffering for it. Vision Quest had all kinds of problems in that department, I felt, but this one was perfect.

I think the idea is supposed to be that there is a parallel dimension that interacts with their own on a quantum level, & only it is currently habitable to the newly mutated humans as earth hasn't yet been fully terraformed. She, having Kraang DNA, is in tune to their biological frequencies or whatever, & can sense their presence.

It is supposed to be a running gag to make small children laugh, I even laugh at it.That scene didn't bother me either, actually. Mikey was on-point for the entire episode and was doing decently when fighting against Baxter. One mistake, which is a running gag, isn't so bad. Besides, I'd rather have Mikey push a button by accident than how it was first season with his ,"Ooo shiny! What does this button do?" portrayal.I wish he were more competent myself, but I do understand their angle for him, however unfortunate it is. Not over here, it ain't. In the US, there's no "l" in it. Which is what made it so funny. Particularly given the little critter's appearance....

Donnie also suggested places that have been homes for them in previous incarnations. Such as an old subway station (Season of the Ooze) and abandoned power plant (the third lair in the 2k3 incarnation).

Actually, that was SECRET of the Ooze, and the third lair in 2K3 was a water treatment station, not a power plant. It was under the Castle by Belvedere Lake in Central Park. That's why it had the water holding tanks when they moved in.

Surprisingly it's not up on YouTube yet but the whole episode is but I can't link it so just type return to new york in the search bar you could see it that way.

Well, at least it didn't turn out he was rabid or anything.

Although with a feral mind, I do question the maintained understanding of the wearing of underwear... lol

Watched it again last night, curious where Baxter's new lab is...somewhere within Shredder's building? As been mentioned before, did seem odd they just happened to have a big cage with a wheel and everything, but there looked to be a number of other different cages as well. (The size of all that starts to feel a little like Honey I Shrunk the Kids". lol) Wonder what other plans they have besides those Shredder mutants...

Also, as learned from the episode when Mikey was in Dimension X on his own, near the end of this new episode the van clipped one of those Kraang crystal tree-looking formations and broke a piece off... Why didn't the "tree" explode. :trazz:

Am I the only person who did not like Bebop and Rocksteady's appearance in the new intro? For two iconic characters from the TMNT franchise who have yet to make an appearance outside of the original animated series in a new TMNT show I expected them to have something better than a VERY brief glance while they are driving a car which makes them barely even visible. I knew they were featured in the new intro before watching the episode but when they appeared I didn't even realize that I just saw them. I got a good look at Rocksteady but all I caught of Bebop was his mohawk and that's only because it's bright pink. I was hoping to see them do something cooler in the intro than driving a car (crappy attempt at a T-Machines plug if you ask me). Oh well. Can't wait to see them in full effect next week!

It was ok, though I don't think I got much of a good look at anything in the intro, was too surprised that they'd change it, and paired with it's fast pace and so much going on it was mostly a blur. lol Sorta picked up on Bebop and Rocksteady being there. Entirely did not remember seeing Mondo at all even though he was right there.

Look forward to more episodes and repeats to let it sink in better.

Wow, this was actually a good episode. My expectations were pretty low due to some bad reviews and last two episodes. If anything, I think this bad rep actually somehow helped, lol. Whole episode was very nice, I liked how they exhibited their ninja training to snick around, the setting and the music was great, and sound effects are pure awesome. Mikey was fun; acting all scared and little-brother-like. I though it was nice touch. I didn't quite get why Splinter lost his mind, but alas. It was heartwarming when he came to, and recognized his sons. I liked Shredder clones, and how guys reacted to them. Anyhow, this episode was genuinely funny, I found myself more than once laughing (especially at Mikey's scenes). Oh, and I'm starting to get used to Seth Green (Leo's voice actor). So overall I was satisfied with this episode (I would give it 8/10), let's hope they can keep it up :)

I like that they de-robed Splinter and make him look more insane and pathetic. Reminds me of Batman going crazy in Arkham Asylum game.

After this, when he gets his robe back, he'll look respectful and powerful again. A nice contrast.

Thank goodness Amazon instant vid got this one up this morning so we were able to watch it this evening. I really tried waiting until after Serpent Hunt to see both back to back, but I'm glad I couldn't wait. This one was just fantastic. I did catch those toy references to the old turtle van thanks to my fiancee. Anyone else catch all of the Kraang absolutely disgusted by the stinkbomb and upset about the stinging soda? I dug their dialogue there. Bunch of babies. Nice seeing them squirming for a change. I liked that we got a good bit of Kraang and Foot action in this one. I'm also looking forward to that inevitable battle between Kraang and Foot. I have been for a long time. Loved the Shredder mutants or clones or whatever you wanna call them. One thing I was glad I couldn't see was Splinter in his undergarments. Glad he came back to himself before episode's end. But please, Playmates, no action figure! Now if I could only hold out until whenever Amazon decides to upload Serpent Hunt next week. Almost forgot. I hope Cluckingsworth does alright on the farm. Hey, she's a genius, so she's probably loving it. I did feel a little bad for her, but staying there must have been her decision. Yeah, you're safer on the farm by far, Doc. Excellent choice. I'll miss ya, birdbrain.

This was a really enjoyable episode. I loved the new intro by the way. Splinter losing his mind was very heart breaking yet done really well. I loved seeing the EPF again though I am still waiting for Bishop. And let's not forget the Shredder clones from the original comics make their debut in this show just like in the 2k3 series. I loved how Splinter not only calls his sons his family but acknowledged April and Casey as part of his family as well.

Well look on the bright side, she's smart enough to help the other chickens look after themselves while they're gone. I mean yeah if chickens were abandoned in the wild they would have probably found bugs or stuff to eat. But they also would be prey for other animals like foxes and possums and stuff.

And I thought the hug Donnie gave her when they left was really sweet.

Maybe they took them based on feelings and not usefulness. It could be possible that Dr. Cluckingsworth wanted to stay at the farm with her other chicken friends.

ICK isn't that ambulatory, since she's at risk of melting, and no one would be around to feed her if she was stuck in the fridge at the farmhouse all alone. Cluckingsworth can probably fend for herself.

I loved it big time. The ONLY thing I would have liked to have seen was for them to go and live in an abandoned subway tunnel. I guess it would be kinda hard to make that work though since they wouldn't have as much privacy as like at the lair. I just wish they would have done it for a liiiiittle while though. Still it was awesome and I can't wait to see Bebop and Rocksteady and Karai next week. I also thought that maybe when Baxter opened that door that maybe Tokka was gonna be in there and I was NOT expecting all those Shredder clones. It was sweet to watch Splinter pwn them. I loved seeing Leatherhead again too and seeing the blimp float by in the background was awesome. Total fan service ep and I really appreciate that.

Just the thought of them being back at Antonio's makes me wonder if Pizzaface is going to return. Speaking of returning characters, did anyone spy Mutagen Man in the lair before the turtles left? Just curious if he's still there or if the Kraang or Foot might have taken him.

Apparently Pizza Face is returning in the Animated Adventures comic.

No we didn't see Mutagen Man at all, we didn't even see Donnie's Lab. The Turtles didn't even stick around because the lair was unsafe. If he's still there then I expect the turtles will have to go back down to the lair at some point.

It's not going to be easy taking down a security droid that would most likely report back to Kraang HQ if the turtles were spotted. Not even pigeons can help this time since it apparently just shoots anything that moves.

I think we'll be counting on Donnie to hack it or lure it away from the old lair without noticing any irregularities going on. And he can't even jam its wireless signal or something because Kraang HQ would notice the signal loss and send another droid to check out the situation. It needs to continue reporting back to Kraang HQ that everything is normal, hopefully that's something Donnie can reprogram it to do (and we might be seeing Metalhead 2.0 in the works, who knows!)

I have to disagree with the majority of the comments here. This was an important episode, but I wasn't in love with it. Auman wrote it, and he has a tendency to dumb down Mikey, which I'm not really a fan of. Plus, everything was a bit too cconvenient in this episode. I would have preferred it if April's "powers" didn't solve everything. Good pace, though. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Seeing Splinter feral was a nice touch, as well.

Betting they will at some point... I've read something about Gilbert Gottfried reprising his role as Kraang Sub-prime, and as far as we know, he's still stuck under that staircase. Wonder how he's held out under there for 4 months?

Great episode with a lot of action. I'm glad Master Splinter is back with his family. I would like to see Leo instead of April working to restore Master Splinter's mind using meditation.

I have to say I agree with you about April's powers. Don't get me wrong, I like her because I really think she is a strong and smart character who absolutely changed since the first season. In a good way, obviously. But having her powers bringing back Master Splinter's memory was just a too simple and quick solution for an important thing like this. I really expected something more complicated. Ok, the writers have only 22 minutes for each episode, but still. In my opinion, April's powers make her character a little bit magical, a little bit too extravagant which I don't like. I prefer her human traits, her stubbornness, her never ending attempt not to give up. I think those thinks make her a perfect partner and a "fifth turtle" not her magical powers.

Sorry for my English or grammar, it's not my mother tongue. :')

I don't get it. I am sure what April did was kind of a ass pull but when having another character doing something similar is just as bad.

But I guess one hand when comes down to it, it her powers got rid a conflict that would been interesting for them beat but if the conflict takes too long to solve then it could drag the plot down and make everything come to a screeching halt which is the last thing that this arc needs.

I don't get it. I am sure what April did was kind of a ass pull but when having another character doing something similar is just as bad. How? She's done it before. That aside, she said back in season 1 that she'd always had that sixth sense thing going on, being hypersensitive to stuff or whatever. Training with Splinter helped that and it was established that despite their not being in the city that she was still training, which probably includes her mind.

This is the second time where April has focused her mind (which I figured she learned from Splinter) in a non-Kraang situation. I personally don't get what the problem is, given that her powers go into deux es machina mode where she has no control over them whenever in a situation where she's distressed and connected either directly or indirectly to something Kraang related. It's not like it was pulled out of nowhere. At least the show is being consistent with it.

I have to agree. There are a lot of complaints that the show does tend to forget its own plot arcs and development, but this is one of the real areas of consistent development throughout the entire run - its not like its come out of nowhere. And although I dislike deus ex machina endings as much as anyone, there are limits in a early season episodes to what can be squeezed into the time frame. I always thought that things like Buried secrets, people were kind of missing the point; It wasn't that April saved the day at the end of the ep, it was that the Turtles roundly lost against an enemy they had no chance against. April was their ONLY way out of it.

Still, we'll have to wait and see where they go with it I guess - now its here, it does open a lot of potential avenues for the show to explore (like mind linking, healing, etc)

OH HELL NO! That ginger's powers should only be kept only in the mental and psychological category. No physical healing , no suddenly knowing how make fire with her mind. No suddenly using her power to conveniently wipe the conflict and realism clean from the episode. I can accept her restoring Splinter because it was mental power related and it happen before but if it gets out of hand to a point where she can suddenly materialize things in middle of a freaking desert then that is when I have problem with her. :x
