Okay, I'm brand new to this board, as in I only came across it today. In several posts I have seen references to the "Mirage canon" and I'm wondering, who is deciding what is canon and what is not? What's the criteria? THANKS.

All the comics that are Mirage published. Specifically volumes 1, 2, and 4.

Okay, I thought it might have meant something else because in another thread someone was referring to A.C. Farley's TMNT Vol 1 #29 like it may or may not be canon.

all of vol. 2, 4, tales, etc. that are mirage published, and about half of volume 1 are canon. theres another big thread about it. the reason not all of volume 1 are canon is due to all the guest writers. i dont think anyone considers the stories by mark martin canon, hehe. neither are the stories by micheal zulli (although they are some of my favorite issues, id love to see him do his own TMNT series :) ), and so on.

I'll second that! Even though he'd probably be required to present a more traditional version of the TMNT, I'm hoping he might do a couple of issues of the new Tales of the TMNT.

I agree. Although, I think an even cooler idea would be for Zulli to have his own TMNT comic. In which he continues to tell his vision of the TMNT. I know it's a pipe dream, but that would rule.

By the way, Mirage is releasing an official continuity timeline soon. I can't wait for it. By the way, Vol. 1 #29 will be included. Perhaps these are the same vampires from Vol. 4 #11?
