Each time I watch this thing, I get closer and closer to the realization that it's garbage. From my perspective, production values and the Turtles' mocap actors were the ONLY real high points of this movie. Nevermind the plot holes, nevermind the crappy editing, nevermind the fact that half the cast was hired for being a name...the thing that frustrates me most is that these problems only happened because the production team - which is infamous for this stuff in the first place - was allowed to mess with the property, and handled it in a way that was geared 100% towards product placement and making money. Nothing more, nothing less.
Eh, but I guess I'm starting to sound one-sided, huh? I'll still watch the thing on occasion, but only when I'm in a blank mindset and just want to watch something that's one-dimensionally entertaining. BUT, more to the point, I used to like it a whole lot more than I do now - that was after having seen it only one time. Like I said, each time I see it, I'll notice something that makes my head turn, either from making no logical sense or just being unnecessary - and this is without any influence from other people whatsoever. Same thing happens when I watch it by myself.
So am I alone here? Did anyone else like it upon first seeing it, but liked it less down the road? Or even the reverse - did you used to hate it, and now like it? Has your opinion changed on it at all? (I won't take shots at you for liking it, don't worry. :tlol:)

The first time I watched it, it was okay.

the third time is when I realized that this movie was just pure garbage, both the story and turtles themselves.

I still love the Turtles' characterization, but when I watched it on DVD, I fast-forwarded thru the entire opening until they first appeared. So basically, now when I watch it, I'm skipping all of the April/Vern material. (And facepalming at the horrible Sachs/Shredder magic blood writing.)

While I probably don't belong in this thread since I've come from the other direction, I've started doing that as well. Since I warmed up to these Turtles a bit eventually and own the movie via Christmas gift I've had the DVD in a few times, but I've started to fast forward through all the non-Turtles stuff and done so the last couple of times. After a couple viewings the human-only portions start to feel a bit long winded and dull. And with the writing already spotty, what's to miss.
Granted I suppose were I a guy (or a woman that swings that way) and was into looking at Megan Fox it might be less dull :P, but I'm not... and well, a couple of the best looking guys involved are hidden behind their green counterparts.
was allowed to mess with the property, and handled it in a way that was geared 100% towards product placement and making money.
The one I'm most surprised at at this point is the "Project Almanac" advertisement...
In some way it's interestingly 4th wall breaking to now have trailers for it on tv not having known it was a real thing, in other ways...wtf using the Turtles movie to advertise it early.
Only after watching it again at home have I realized just how much product placement is there. Is this money that helps the film or goes into pockets? Because I thought that stuff was supposed to help movies, but if it's going into their pockets then at that rate what are the rich producers contributing other than control.

I thought the movie was great. The funny parts were great. (Loved the part with the elevator!) The turtles were too. Yea it was a little clishae splinter "found" a book of ninjutsu out there in the gutter. I've watched it multiple times since christmas (when I got it). The weird part was April kept screaming for no reason. xD

Maybe I'm in the minority here but huge amounts of plastic surgery are not only a turn-off for me, but also massively creepy - all these actors walking around with the same features. Doesn't anyone else find it genuinely unsettling on a visceral level? All these celebs having the same teeth, noses and cheeks? It's like we're being invaded by aliens.

 Yes. Reaching for perfection that doesn't exist. Before this movie I never knew anything about Fox other than hearing the name. Her facial expressions (or lack of) annoy me now, it looks as if she's trying too hard to keep the one single expression she thinks is appealing. (Also... her eyes are creepy in the darker lighting of some scenes in TMNT, particularly when she's laying there after being yanked back onto the roof, dead alien looking eyes.)

I'm a red blooded male who loves to gawk at females & I feel the same way. She's too supermodel looking for my tastes. I much prefer a more homegrown regular look. Either way, April's looks are her least important aspect. Had she been a greek goddess, porn star, whatever, no matter how attractive she is, it doesn't make up for other shortcomings in the film. Not to anyone who thinks with their upstairs head, anyway.

We all know she's limited as an actress but the girl is gorgeous. If she's not good looking, I don't know who is. Wouldn't say she's No. 1 by any means though. Her lack of relatability and steely "I'm too cool for you" expressions kill that quite a bit.

Sweetheart, I don't give a shiny sh*t if others find her hot. I specifically said in my post that I am not attracted to her. At no point did I say "anyone who is attracted to Fox is a puppy-kicking f*cktard". My favorite musician in the whole world has said that Fox is #1 on her list of people she'd like to bone. That doesn't change my opinion any.
Last time I checked, fugly people are still allowed to a) have their own preferences with what they're attracted to, and b) voice their opinions. Your argument is pretty much just "You're just jelluz hater bcuz u r ugly". Dude, I'm aware that far more people want a taste of Fox's hot-sauce than they ever would of mine. That has nothing to do with the fact that I still don't find her sexy.
Last but certainly not least, my opinions and preferences aren't shaped by what other people like, or what mass media touts as being popular - so I don't know why you're even bringing up Empire.

"A magazine that exists solely to tell people what is marketable and 'attractive' says this actress that was in this movie I like is hot, because they make lots of money on pictures of her ass, so of course it must be true. Real people's opinions don't matter, because they're just people. Meanwhile, a respected media institution such as a magazine or website would only ever tell the truth."

 I'm suuuure.
She's OKAY. By Hollywood standards though she's definitely nothing special, especially after she wrecked her face. If you saw her on line buying bread at 7-11 or something she'd be a knockout (when compared to the flock of "normal" and less attractive people in the immediate area), but for as much attention she gets, there's really no reason for it when Hollywood is full of chicks who are both better looking and can act better.
Actually, there is a reason, and it happens every day. It's called, "The Casting Couch". Literally the only reason she's forced down people's throats so much; because she had a few people "forced down her throat" first.
I do find it funny when people pull the "I'd never hit that" line, though, as in my experience they're the type who'd pay for it. Not always, but usually. I've legit seen guys whose wives were 250lbs look at a girl like Fox and be all, "Nah, she ain't hot, she doesn't have enough ass," and I'm like, "Well, no, compared to the livestock you're used to keeping at home, clearly not..."
Anyway yeah she's Okay but nothing super-special. Especially not now. I mean, that FACE. Ugh. I'll grant you the body, or at least her ass, but that FACE... to think she CHOSE that one... oooof. She lose a bet with Meg Ryan?

Well fat chicks are another story, but comparing Megan Fox to other slim girls around her weight...she's just not as appealing.

But seriously I've dated some thicker ladies and to be honest I don't mind personally. Some thicker girls got curves for DAAAAAAAAAAAYS. Never been with anyone over 200 pounds but I find the older I get, the less I really care. My current girlfriend is tiny though, but that has its advantages too.

Back to the movie I like it. Even though it is a very badly made, poorly acted, poorly paced, poorly directed and poorly edited movie. The CGI was good, even great at some parts. That is something I can't say about TMNT though.

She was actually more attractive (IMO) before she started getting so much surgery (I thought she was cutest around 2004, but hey, I think nose freckles are cute). Even in her Transformers days I could see the appeal. But around 2009 (after she got the boot from Bayformers 3, you'll note), she started looking very... plastic. Seriously, look at pics of her from 2004 to 2007. Then take a look at shots of her from 2009 to the current date.
I think it's going to be very weird 30 years from now when all of our current crop of celebrities look like Joan Rivers. (Is it too soon for that joke? I don't know, but I'm going there.)

Leo - I think They Live should be required watching for pretty much everyone. They ought to be showing that movie in schools, yo.
I find it intriguing that people act like the things in these movies aren't actually coming to pass.
I mean how corporations keep us lulled into an uncaring, bewildered "sleep" through subliminal messages in their entertainment and advertising that completely control the way we think and how we live our lives. Not that it's all secretly being done by aliens.
TMNT is actually a really great example. "People will like it, because we tell them they have to, that they 'are not a True Fan' if they don't, and create a cloud of dismissal around anyone who dissents." Once you KNOW they're doing it, I don't see how people can fall for it. But they do!
I guess it's like how an entire generation can grow up watching "Terminator", and yet still push for a world where we're all hyper-dependent on technology, despite knowing full-well how easily that can (and will) turn out to be a mistake. "Because movies are just entertainment". No, actually, the best ones can actually teach you something.
Doesn't shock me that people miss the easy ones. Disappoints me, sure, but doesn't shock me.

I've seen it twice. First time I really enjoyed it; second time (with my kids) - not quite as much. My main problem is it just felt too rushed. It had great production values though, and the effects used to bring the Turtles to life/action were terrific.
My life is too busy to watch even films I love that regularly, so I don't know when I'll next see it.

Megan gets WAY too much hate, let's be real. Yes, she's made millions, yes, she's a celeb so she can just " take it like a pro" etc... but really, the hate she gets is more than uncalled for.
Kathy Griffin is incredibly obnoxious, and plastic, and no one rides her. She's a d list bitchy trashy unfunny bad actress. Why not hate on her?
Fox sucked in PDMT, for sure. She was really ham fisted into the part, yes.
But really, she sure as hell wasn't the biggest problem. And given the craptastic actors they hired, I'm surprised we didn't end up with some other d-list gem, you know, like Lindsay Lohan, or Anna Kendrick (sorry Bry, I really hate her, really-really-really hate her.) I was actually pretty opposed to the majority of fan-casting that dominated the web before Fox was announced. There were too many " I like turtles and I like this actress, so she should be April" BS going on. It's crazy town most of the time, because they aren't casting for the role they're simply announcing their favorite actor/crush/obsession or repeating what others have said. Fox was as fitting a choice as any of the other blah blah, because April wasn't supposed to be the star. She isn't the focus. She's a secondary character, or at least she should be.
But yeah, the Megan Fox is not hot bit, lol kids, get over yourselves. Absolutely, there are hotter women, yes she was way more attractive years ago, as I'm sure we allllllll were, and yeah, her public persona sucks, but bashing her because she had work done, so now she's not hot enough anymore, is acceptable? Besides, attractiveness is pretty subjective anyway. People have different "types" and preferences. Kind of pointless to throw it around like an objective standard, IMO.
There's plenty of legitimate things to criticize, like a weak performance or a bad attitude toward the audience/fans (check and check!), but there should be more to an actor/actress than just looks, right?

That's how the world works, unfortunately. One-dimensionality. Food is the exact same way - same sweeteners, same additives, just different flavors. Celebrities follow the same formula, in essence; and people buy into it.
Oh, and yes, Hoag is MILES ahead of Fox. She's authentically attractive.
Just because you like her doesn't mean others feel that way too. ;)

To each his own, but I can't say I'm with you on that one.

I pretty much agree. She was a god-awful casting choice, but I felt she did her best with the role; and she's nowhere near the top of my complaint list for this movie. I cringed at her casting more than her acting, because if the former had been avoided, then so would the latter.
That said, I understand people's complaints with her being too "plastic" or that stereotypical Hollywood rendition of "attractive" and "skinny", but I still think she's good-looking, for sure. Problem is, April shouldn't be that way. She's never been that drop-dead gorgeous "anyone would bang" kinda chick; she should have more of that "pretty girl down the street" look.
I'm surprised we didn't end up with some other d-list gem, you know, like Lindsay Lohan, or Anna Kendrick

Oh, I'm totally with you. I loved Alan Ritchson in this. But like you put it, he just wasn't a well-developed character - and neither was any character in the entire movie. Plus a lot of his lines didn't make any sense... That little speech at the end had no build-up at all, and as a result it had no meaning. And another one - which I haven't seen ANYONE mention - is at the end when he thanks April for not telling anyone about them...didn't the entire plot revolve around her telling Sacks about them?
Still though, I really liked the persona they gave him. Hoping he gets some actual development next time around.

Yeaaaah... They don't wonder how the Foot found them? Guess she's keeping that little detail to herself. That and the fact that she lost her job and is no longer as large of a threat because of it.

I actually considering buying the blu-ray at one point, but left it on the shelf. I know if I buy it on blu-ray I'd only watch it once and then it would sit there collecting dust as some awful thing I wish I never bought.
I'll probably just rewatch the movie online somewhere for free just to reaffirm my hate for it.

HA. :tlol: I forgot all about that. I got real dumbly set off and serious about that for some reason - sorry I was being a jerk back then, hey?
:D  All good! I was pretty defensive to, but back then, it we were living in perpetual fear/hope/sadness/joy. None of us were thinking clearly.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of...
:p
Besides, attractiveness is pretty subjective anyway. People have different "types" and preferences. Kind of pointless to throw it around like an objective standard, IMO.
There's plenty of legitimate things to criticize, like a weak performance or a bad attitude toward the audience/fans (check and check!), but there should be more to an actor/actress than just looks, right?
Sure, there are plenty of things to criticise, but at the end of the day, she's still a woman, who had one thing to trade on - her looks, and for a few years, she was the most googled most loved most desired -(or so the internet said, and at the time it seemed) until she started speaking to the press. All of a sudden, she's vile - all of a sudden she's a horrible human being, all of a sudden she called M.Bay "Hitler" and her Career goes down in flames.
All she had were her looks, and she probably thought "I need to keep myself looking a certain way, I need to look young, and that will fix everything"
I don't think there's a single young woman who hasn't thought "if I only fix x, or y or z, I'll feel better, more confident" etc.
It's what insecure people do. I do it all the damned time. If you read between the lines of what she's said, you can see Fox is just as insecure. yeah she told the Fans to **** off. she dure did. Why? Everything was riding on Turtles for her. I don't think you have to have to look at her and say, "ya, well you make millions, and I don't so F-you" to possibly sympathize with with her. In Hollywood, people are different. They mess with you. Large scale fame messes with you. It really is like the worst version of highschool there is.
The public's developed a blood thirst for celebrity, specifically insanely popular celebrities., and people who used to be considered attractive.
Now the media is bending over backwards, insisting Lena Dunham and Melissa Mccarthy are "sexy".
It can be an argument, all day all night as to whether or not that's true, fueled by PC idea's of what is right or wrong to say etc. Sure everyone has different tastes, and exactly, one man's treasure is another's trash...but seriously, it's crazy.
I will not apologize for thinking both of those women are far from sex objects, physically or otherwise. They gross me the **** out. Dunham specifically, is a toad of a human. Just because she's intelligent, which she clearly is, does not make her wonderful. She's a self righteous twit, more so than Fox on her worst day.
5 years ago, everyone would agree. 10 years ago, it wouldn't be a question. We're living in backwards land these days; nerds are cool, ugly is hot, and country music is popular.

42: All fair points. I think a lot of it also has to do with society's tendency to - eventually - push back against what they've been force-fed. Like you said, Fox was stuffed down everyone's throats for years. Well, now people are sick of her to the point where they overreact to the other extreme. Happens to every "celebrity". I mean, I *know* I'm that way. The more I'm told "So-and-so is the hottest thing ever", the more I'm gonna drift from "She's okay" to "Woof, no thanks", just because that's how my brain works. "Don't tell ME what's attractive, I'll figure that out for myself." I'm sure I'm not the only one.
She's alright. She's not the hottest and she's not ugly, she's not the best or worst actress ever, but she's definitely overrated and overexposed as f*ck. I also have Zero sympathy for anyone who gets involved in the entertainment business no matter what their insecurities are, because everyone knows it's a rotten, shallow business, especially for a woman. You sign up for that. "Price of fame" and all that. Don't want to be objectified, sexualized, scrutinized and demonized? Then stay home and get a real job. You invite all that stuff the second you decide you want to make a living doing basically nothing. Fair? Not exactly, but again, nobody ever said it was. Women, especially. Women know, for a fact, that if you want to be an actress, you're going to be judged entirely on your looks AND have to sleep around to get ahead. That's The Game. You don't HAVE to play it, but you do if you want to "make it". I have zero sympathy for Fox or anyone else in her position. It's their choice.

I agree Leo, absolutely. But I also think, some people get punished beyond what's acceptable. Every celeb who gets too big, goes a little nutty.
I just think it's not so much the fault of the celeb, but of the public. We helped build the Frankenstein, so we must be responsible for it.
It's a little disturbing though, the vigor and exuberance with wich we burn them.
Perhaps there's something in that.

Oh definitely, definitely. We love to put people on a pedestal and then tear them down. The first part, is because human beings love to live vicariously through others, partly because it's just easier than actually getting there ourselves. The second part, is because we're jealous that those people have things we will never have. Once a person we idolize reaches a certain level of success, it inevitably becomes, "How DARE they". Just human nature.

I think the question of the quality of the movie has already been pretty well answered. Picking over it further just invites the same round of arguments from people who can't be objective about its flaws (aka, the "I like it, therefore it's good" argument). Everyone's tired of reading the same arguments from the same people. A change of topic is a breath of fresh air at this stage of the game.

Megan Fox is kind of pretty, but her earlier attitude kind of makes her somewhat ugly. I know in Transformers she mentioned in an interview (I think it was for Rolling Stones) that she slept with Shia LeBouf(sp?) and bragged that she was bisexual. Her saying that stuff made her come off like a braying donkey to me, since nobody really gives a toss if a person is bisexual or who they slept with, but she just had to put it out there so she looked 'hot 'n edgy.'

It was Shia who outed that they had a fling during the Revenge Of The Fallen shoot, which she denied. But yeah Fox does talk very loosely to the press, which on one hand is refreshing, but on the other hand makes her look bad. Theres a clip on Youtube of her at the LA Turtles premiere, she was asked why Mikey is her favourite and she replied "Mikey's funny. Funny makes you drop your panties." She's at the premiere of her f*cking Nickelodeon movie surrounded by young fans and talks like that. Everytime she seems to be maturing or appearing humble, she'll do something like tells those who don't like the film they can "f*ck off". My biggest complaint with her being April isn't her acting, it's that I don't think she should be any sort of role model for young girls.

Eh, I tend to take interviews with a grain of salt - especially written interviews. I think it's very easy for people to say something and have it be taken out of context. And interviewers will often gear questions specifically so that they can get answers which will help them sell copy.
I personally didn't care about Fox sharing that she was bi - what bothered me is that she said "I would never date a girl who is bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I'd never sleep with a girl who had slept with a man." Like, wow - you managed to sh*t on both men and women, all in just one sentence. That takes a special kind of skill.
I think Turtle boogers is the real fear.

I don't like the movie any less when I re-watch it, but I do like Megan Fox less and less every time I watch it. But at least it's not as bad as she was in Jonah Hex, which is the worst acting performance in a hollywood movie ever. I've never liked William Fichtner and I can't stand him in this movie.
I thought Fox was very hot in Transformers, but looks really don't matter when you see the person has no personality or is annoying, and they surely made her annoying in Transformers 2, then just based off interviews etc...I thought she was just ok looking. I don't think she's had plastic surgery, I keep reading people say that, but I think she's almost 30 now, and has had like 3 or 4 kids so that can change a woman it doesn't mean she's had work done. Besides if she was going to get plastic surgery don't you think she would have fixed her toe-thumb?
Leo656
02-07-2015, 04:50 PM
She's definitely had work done on her face, dude. When you see it with a lot of chicks and know what to look for, you can tell.
Then there's the fact - not opinion - that ALL women in Hollywood have had work done, whether it's a lift or a nose job or "just" Botox and fillers. It's mandatory, especially ones whose entire career depends on how high they are ranked on a Maxim list. If you're an actress, it's not even a question if you've had work done, it's just a matter of How Much.

No sh*t, but they'd have to be delusional to look in the mirror and honestly think what they've done to themselves is an "improvement." In almost every single case, these chicks who do this to themselves were Perfectly Fine before, and everyone ends up saying so. So I don't see who's putting the pressure on them to mangle themselves. They all blame society, but after the fact, "society" always tells them they looked better before, so I don't buy it. I think they put it in their own head that something needs "fixing", and they should put that money towards therapy rather than elective surgery to fix what isn't broken.
If you don't like yourself, a new nose won't fix that, it's a band-aid on a bullet wound. These people need Help.

Nobody's denying a woman's right to do whatever the hell she wants to her body - and if current-era Fox and Jolie get you moist, good for you. But let's not pretend that we don't live in a society that celebrates a blatantly unrealistic and completely unattainable standard of beauty.
Even the world's "most beautiful women" don't believe they're beautiful, pay through the nose to themselves carved up, and then we're told that this is artificial construction is what we're supposed to find attractive. It's madness, pure and simple. When did natural beauty become unfashionable?
Jolie and Fox were both already beautiful. Jessica Alba was beautiful already - she didn't need to get surgery to white-wash herself just so she could get more parts. People like you, who can't see the forest for the hard-on it gives them, are part of the problem.
"Girl Interrupted" and "Gia" have shown that Jolie was already a talented actress - she didn't need to turn herself into some plastic f*ck-flower to give her career a boost. She's an accomplished, intelligent woman who's achieved a great many things, including a great deal of humanitarian work. Yet she's still not content with herself as she is. What exactly does that say about where we are as a society - that we reject the natural and celebrate the artificial?

People should have the right to do what they want to with their bodies.
But man. I'm shocked by just now natural she looked back then compared to now. Natural expression and smile. She looked real. And I'm not gonna pretend she's got much acting talent, but I've gotta wonder if she put as much money and time into improving her "craft" as she did toward altering her face and body with surgery, how different things might be right now.

It just sucks b/c most of my friends and family are girls, so I've always had to see/hear these things, and it makes me feel sad and helpless. Whether it's their looks or their weight or whatever. I'm like, "How can I make you feel pretty? PLEASE tell me how I can make you understand there's NOTHING wrong with you?!" "You can't, I don't like what I see." "But... But..."
I'm usually not the only one in their "ear" about it, either. I mean, MOST guys really don't care that much about looks, no matter what they say, when it comes down to it they'll mostly take whatever they can get. It's just, these magazines and sh*t make their money making girls feel insecure and I HATE that so many of them fall for it. I just wanna shake them and be like, "You're being manipulated by a corporation that doesn't care about your self-esteem and only wants to sell you product! You're beautiful and intelligent and you should know better than this!" It's heartbreaking.

Goddamn, I just realized Megan Fox is almost the same age as me. Amazing how some people are filthy rich and I'm sitting here posting on a TMNT forum.

Rich might be nice, but if I'd have to spend all my time earning it and have very little left over to 'waste' on things I love, like TMNT... Nah. I could settle for just being a bit better off, not so much that money becomes my life.

Stupid thing is you can't win either way. Even if you don't fall for it (*raises hand*), the massive amount who do just end up making you feel subpar in comparison. (I mean, I've even read catty stuff online aimed at women who don't wear makeup. Wtf.) The way society is though, unfortunately.

Yeah, legit. I don't get that. We're all in this together, why the hell are chicks so catty and vicious to other chicks? Dudes don't do that. With dudes, it's like, "You're fat, bro." "Yessir, sir." "Okay, cool, just making sure you knew. Let's go get drunk and watch sportsball." "Awesome."

That sh*t is DEPRESSING, man. As a guy who appreciates the au natural types, just looking at that sh*t makes me irrationally angry. YOU WERE PRETTY, F***HEAD! Christ. I feel bad for her. She clearly has serious insecurities and self-esteem problems. Anyone who has THAT much work done clearly doesn't like themselves. Doesn't take a psych degree to see that.
First pic was by FAR the prettiest, not even a contest. Why do girls hate their freckles?! Fox, Lohan... I don't get it. Freckles are kind of "Cute Sexy". I love those kinds of little things that make girls unique. :ohwell:
This might be totally off base, but I've known several people who wanted to give Hollywood a shot, and the first thing they tell you in Hollywood, is to get yourself an agent, and the few that I knew, the agents first thing when considering you, is that you pretty much have to change everything about yourself, so it's possible she might have that kind of agent that is telling her that freckles are out, or that her nose is too big or that her skin isn't flawless enough, so they can't promise her work unless she goes under the knife. Actors aren't the only ones, the worst agents are the ones behind the girls that are on Olympic level gymnastics and figureskating regimes. Read the book Little Girls in Pretty Boxes. It's quite disturbing what these kids go through just to get a medal.
These people need Help.
.
Agree with this. I'm looking at the recent photos of Renee Zellwegger, and she looks horrible compared to what she looked like before, which was actually cute. I don't know what she was thinking.

There's a quote which says "The genius of any slave system is found in the dynamics which isolate slaves from each other, obscure the reality of a common condition, and make united rebellion against the oppressor inconceivable."
Basically - if you encourage people to stay at one another's throats, they won't challenge the existing power structure, or analyze the problems inherent in their immediate environment.
Also a sentiment expressed in the notable film "The Warriors".

Sadly I have become one of those people who now dislike the movie. Outside the turtles' personalities and the CG graphical look, the rest of the movie falls flat on it's face. I now don't even want a sequel to this movie. Would any of you who don't like this movie, would you say that's better, worse or just as bad as TMNT 3 and why?

I would say that it's actually worse than TMNT III now.
At least the third movie had some heart, and a plot that you could make sense of. Oh and not the mention that turtles were the main characters of their own film rather than just some side characters to April 'O Neil.

True but still doesn't change the fact that TMNT 3 is terrible, though. But you do have a point.

Hard call. Only comparing those two films, they both lose some and win some, and lose a little more. I really hope these new films are working backwards in terms of quality, though I assume hell might have to freeze over in order for that to happen in the film industry.

Yeah TMNT III is still an awful movie though

I still have yet to see TMNT III because I've heard absolutely nothing but terrible things about it, so I can't compare the two. I do plan on getting around to watching it in due time, but I'll have to put forth some willpower to do so.
By the way, one thing I did like other than the Turtles that I forgot to mention (talking about the 2014 movie) was Karai. I thought she was pretty well-executed and Minae Noji was one of the only good casting choices for the human characters. Although - it's been said numerous times already, but I'll say it again - she wasn't utilized enough and as a result seemed extremely empty. I think, had she gotten more screen time, she could have easily been one of the movie's highlights.

You should check out TMNT 3 - it gets a lot more crap than it deserves, IMO.

Movie that's been around almost 22 years... :tlol: Granted if it's older than you are then I guess I number of years can be forgiven. :P
Agree with Penny. It may not be what 1990 was, but it's still watchable. And at least they used their weapons again.

Let's just say if you did not enjoy the campiness of the second movie then it gets a lot worse in the third movie.

TMNT 3 viewing test
Can you sit through Next Mutation?
Yes - Watch TMNT 3, no problem there.
Sorta - Watch TMNT 3 sometime when you're bored.
No - Consider watching when there's nothing else to do, you'll probably at least die a little less inside vs Next Mutation.
Hell no - Watch TMNT 1990.

Yeah, people often compare TMNT III to Next Mutation, and it's almost always a matter of "which one's worse?"...which dissuades me from trying either. But I do plan on giving both a shot eventually. SotO was pretty bad, I thought, but an enjoyable kind of bad. I imagine III and NM are similar (which LateBloomer bascially pointed out).

Haha, well, I've only been a fan of the Turtles for a little over a year now. So that's my excuse... :tlol:
