I've met Funatic, Pl212, Raph, Agilarept, Archon Turtle, Iveyangelo, Sophistocat, aaaaaand probably others, in which case I'm SO sorry if I've forgotten you.

In 2010, Raph & I, being across the globe from one another & having never met, opted to say "Screw it!" & split a hotel room for New York Comic Con. I guess you take a risk with strangers ten years your senior from across the ocean with whom you've had no more than a handful of impersonal conversations, but what can I say? I like to live dangerously. :tlol: We pretty much spent the entirety of the con together making all the turtle stops, & we were recognized by pl212 & Iveyangelo, who also spent most of their time there with us. Was a really good time. Bumped into Archon & his wife & Agilarept as well. Met a bunch of TMNT artists/voice actors/etc & even ate pizza at Famous Rays, the actual pizzaria from Secret Of The Ooze. The voice of Baxter Stockman himself, Scott Williams, even invited us out for a beer! Unfortunately Raph & I had a train to catch:cry:, but what an awesome thought just the same.

In 2013 I went back to NYCC & was once again going around with pl212 for the majority of it. I met Sophisticat at Eric Talbot's table. I had a suspicion he was a Technodrome member given his enthusiasm for the turtles & the wad of original art under his arm, so I introduced myself & it turned out I was right. Later, while waiting in line for a TMNT autograph session, I was recognized by Funatic, who I shared a space in line with & later accompanied to the Nick series panel.

Everyone I've met was really super cool & friendly, & I'd be happy to kick it with them any time in the future. Another member here, Shellsweet, lives in the same town as me & I've seen her out shopping (at a distance) but we've yet to meet. I imagine it's innevitable we will one day, though. :trazz:

So how about y'all? I know some of you guys have even gotten married through the boards (how cool is that?).

Yup, Jester and 02 are the only dromers I've met in the real world. I think I was actually there when they met in college. I wanna say 04, or did ya show up in Fall of 03, Jester? You were sitting at one of those picnic tables. I distinctly remember it being a Friday morning in late September or early October. One of my classes was canceled which was a good thing because it was one of those mornings where a person just wants to sit outside and dig the day. You had one of the muppets with you. I wanna say Kirmit. We all got to talking about Henson. That, in turn, got us going on about the original TMNT movie and the rest is history. It'd be fun meeting everyone else. My fiancee and I plan on going to Comic Con one of these years, so we'll undoubtedly run into some of you. I should see if there are any conventions in Austin too which is much closer. We still plan on going to Comic Con regardless. I'd love to shake hands with all of you guys at some point. That's for sure.

I think Ai or whoever used to live in NJ, also, or maybe still does for all I know. But he was always pretty outspoken with his distaste for me so I'm pretty sure we'd have nothing to talk about, either.

I talked to GK on the phone a bunch of times about ten years ago and sent him some He-Man comics for Christmas presents, that's about as "close" as I've gotten to anyone here. The folks I get along with the most, tend to live on the West Coast or in other countries entirely. So, we'll probably never meet. ((shrug))

This through & through. I'm surprised I'm on the list of two people I've not really spoken to all that much, as usually, unless we talk outside of the drome (or in PM's here), most people just think I'm an incorrigible bastard. :tlol:

& yeah I don't wanna make a list 'cause it might hurt feelings but I do more or less feel the same as you, I'd kick it with pretty much anyone here (aside from a handful of people I've had recurring problems with). I've got probably well over 50 different Technodrome members on my Facebook friend list who I've grown very close to, as well as others who I speak to on the boards regularly. So that's a lot of folks to chill with. :)

My problem is, I really don't "hang out" or go to places where that's normal, like I rarely go to bars or anything, and I'm kind of hard to pin down between my work schedule and wrestling.

All my "real" friends hate me because we literally never hang out and haven't in years. They're like, "when can we see you?" and I'm like, "I'll be in Paulsboro on Saturday, tickets are ten bucks (or whatever), come on down and after that we can go grab a bite or whatever." "I gotta pay money just to come see you?" "Yeah, you and everybody else, them's the breaks, cupcakes."

Nobody can get their head around the fact that I work mornings and evenings, and that when I get home from work at 10pm or whenever the last thing I wanna do is go "hang out" when I gotta be back at work by 8am. Like, they can go half-ass a desk job with a hangover, I have to be "on" at all times, because my clients' safety depends on it.

So yeah, I'm a terrible friend but friends don't pay my f*cking bills.

On the subject of going for drinks, there was an American exchange student on my course during my first year of university. And you know what? He didn't realise the age limit here was 18 before he arrived. If you're going to swap countries for a year, you'd think that's one of the first things you'd find out if you're young, but evidently not! :lol:

Needless to say, by the time he left, he was probably ready to take on and out drink his fellow countrymen on return heh.

Roughly back on topic, if I say or ask "fancy a drink?" then it is implied that I'll be having a beer/cider, but you can pick whatever you want. There's a Muslim on our dev team so he just drinks Coke normally. Ditto my best mate, as he is Muslim as well. My brother's fiancée only tends to have Diet Coke when we're at the pub.
