Future Adaptation idea: Mutanimals = Suicide Squad

Say the government strikes a deal with mutants they have been capturing. if they do a dangerous mission, then they get their freedom.

for example, they ask a group of mutants to get Krang's suit and bring it to them, they complete the mission and they get their freedom. simple as that.

would you want a Mutanimals like that?

Until then you can expect most, probably all, TMNT adaptations to be about the TMNT themselves. I'm not seeing a successful spin-off happening in the near future, at least not outside of comics.

I wasn't meaning a spin-off or anything. it could be as something as simple as a single episode in the regular tv show/comics (like you know, the Mini-series going on_

In another 50 or 100 issues, maybe. But this incarnation of the Mutanimals is so new, I don't think we've seen enough of what the writers intend to start throwing out ideas for a new direction. They've had ONE issue so far, for a grand total of four. Plus guest-starring (as a full team) in three issues of "New Mutant Order" and three issues of "Attack on Technodrome." And that sounds like a LOT more than they've really had.

I'm happy with what we have. The Mutanimals are about sticking it to the man, so the idea of them having superiors, oppressors, etc, you know, working for another party, that rubs me the wrong way. The reason they're a team to begin with is because they already broke free of their former constructs & hope to similarly improve the lives of others.

There should totally be a TMNT called Suicide Squid, he can be a stunt man type character.
