I concur, my friend. Awesome episode for the mid-season. I don't know if this will be the last we see of the Kraang, but they are certainly out of the picture for the rest of the season I would wager.

Some things I really like about this episode:
Characters returning
Kraang Sub-Prime admitting his race sucks
April's may be back for good now, maybe not but it'll be nice to see him develop
The Kraang might be gone for good now, hopefully because I'm so sick of them
Stuff actually happening
Although it's admittedly weird that it took the Kraang two seasons to take over New York yet it it only took five episodes from the return to NYC to their defeat, and the season is only halfway done. Then again, the episode did admit that the Kraang suck.

Too bad I can't watch this yet. Don't think it's up on Amazon or anything yet and I can't use Nickelodeon's site because I'm outside of the country. Even with the Hola program, I still need to choose a cable service provider or something like that.
By the little mentioned here, it sounds interesting. I'm glad that my theory of some of the mutants we haven't seen in a while returning to help in this fight. Then again, I said a while back that it would be a missed opportunity if the writers didn't do this. I do have a question regarding this, though, for those who have watched it...
Did it hint at more rogue mutants showing up, like say, Sir Malacchi or the Newtralizer? It'd be really sad if the Newtralizer didn't show up at least, given his hatred of the Kraang for all that they did to him.
He'd be a nice wildcard. He's not with the turtles and his reasons for fighting are purely for revenge, but it's still interesting, imo.Although it's admittedly weird that it took the Kraang two seasons to take over New York yet it it only took five episodes from the return to NYC to their defeat, and the season is only halfway done. Then again, the episode did admit that the Kraang suck.lol When I first started watching this show, that was one of the things I found ironic about the Kraang...that they're a bunch of brains, but not too bright in some regards.
They'd been trying to take over the planet for centuries now, and yet they still didn't know how to fully blend in with human society where it would be natural until the Irmabot situation? *tsks* lol
Then again, I feel that their not capturing April sooner with Irmabot showed how they lack any foresight.
I concur, my friend. Awesome episode for the mid-season. I don't know if this will be the last we see of the Kraang, but they are certainly out of the picture for the rest of the season I would wager.
Yeah! And Kraang Sub Prime saying "Oh crap! Our race is horrible!" lol!

After awhile we had to have a cable provider account of the few choices that it gave us. That meant I could not see it. Is that still the case?

Currently watching on my phone because nick.com isn't allowing the vid on my laptop for some reason. And I'm like "Good job."
It's quite funny that the rocket looks quite phallic following a slide of sexy reptilian alien chick. XD
Also :O at Raph being the mediator.

Just watched it, it's very good! Perfect timing to introduce the Mighty Mutanimals, and to revisit Dimension-X.
That being said, I felt last year's Wormquake was better as it introduced Tiger Claw as a new character, and there were more ninja combats. This episode felt lighter in comparison, with no new characters (bummer for not seeing Mondo Gecko yet), just reappearances of existing characters and filled with lots of Kraang fight. The absence of Shredder & gang is partly the reason for this. Also, where is Kraang Prime? :tconfuse:
Anyway, Dr. Rockwell is now able to speak and is voiced by Tom Kenny (aka SpongeBob) :trazz:

Oh my god!!!! I watched the episode after someone from Tumblr recorded the episode and put it on Tune.pk (had to wait for over an hour for part 2 though)
What an amazing episode, I was laughing all they way through.
Loved the Mutanimals, Slash, Leatherhead, Dr Rockwell (who can now speak) and Pigeon Pete. I wonder is Mondo Gecko will join them next.
Mikey was amazing in this episode, he shined alot, he was awesome.
That Mikey and Leatherhead hug, so cute.
Kurtzeman returned, was worried he died when he got hit. He seems to be alright at the end, it looked like he hurt his arm.
Loved The Shining reference.
Sub Kraang Prime: Heeerrrreesss Kraangy

Stimpy's Inventions. lol Ironically, Stimpy's Inventions is the first ep of Ren & Stimpy I ever saw. Back then, when Nicktoons was still new, I would cut off the TV after Rugrats. One Sunday, while my mother was doing my hair, we left the TV on and that ep came on along with whatever the first half was (can't recall right off) and I was hooked. Too bad I lost interest in it about a couple of years later since it became too gross for me.

Anyone notice the plothole? They seemed to ignore the fact that time moves faster in Dimension X than on Earth, which is why Mikey was "gone for months" when he jumped there first and the Turtles later the first time they went. In this episode the Dimension X and Earth stuff was happening at the same time. Otherwise great episode:
- Slash is back and is good, and nice to see the return of Leatherhead, Pigeon Pete and Rockwell.
- I love that Rockwell can speak now. He's so much more interesting than the bland mute monkey he was in Season 1. Love his psychic powers.
- Everyone on Earth is de-mutated and back to normal including April's Dad.
- Krang Sub-prime is dead...for good?
- Kraang gone to Dimension X
I would have liked to see Spiderbitez, Napoleon and that small talon/bird mutant (forgot his name) join the Mutanimals too, they seemed oddly missing.

I'm happy that the Kraang are gone but really sad that Newtralizer has no purpose now. Kraang are gone, and he wasn't even in this episode! :( He was so hyped up by commercials, he had potential as a character, and we all know he isn't dead, because he warped away at the end of "Newtralized!".

Just now realized that plothole, LOL! Yes Kraang Sub-Prime is dead, although I loved his voice. Spiderbytez does hate the Kraang but at the same time I don't think he'd co-operate with the team. Napoleon and the Punk Frogs went to Louisiana if I remember correctly, and Sir Malachi, eh maybe. I don't know enough about his character as he doesn't show disdain against the Kraang.
EDIT: In reply to CyberCubed; On that note, maybe his services will be hired by someone.

Whew. Just went through two hours of TMNT. I rewatched "Serpent Hunt" to refresh my memory and then watched "Pig and Rhino" on iTunes (guess I didn't need to set up the DVR after all. I get embarrassed watching that with my parents around), then went to Nick.com.
Man....there's just too much to talk about. Awesome seeing Slash back and finally a good guy again. Sup-Prime is the ONLY Kraang who actually took advantage of the English language. Mikey being savagely awesome.
AAAAAAND, for all you whiners, New York was saved and the Kraang was stopped WITHOUT the help of April. I thought they were going to use her powers, too, but they didn't. Kinda nice to see the mutants take out the Kraang, though I am worried the EPF are going to show and try to hunt the Turtles and Mut-animals.
Now....let's talk about this little tidbit, shall we?
https://41.media.tumblr.com/54e95ecca5102c39383c1b37bedfdf92/tumblr_nkwdmiN9rD1t1h8v2o1_540.jpg
.....headcannon. This is either going to be Mona Lisa OR this is Mona Lisa's MOTHER. Allow me to explain: This woman (for confusion sake, let's call her "Mona") was the missing scientist that Kurtzman was sent to investigate. She was a prisoner of the Kraang, but he saves her while she's still human. Kurtzman uncovers the Kraang plot through her and together, they form a secret team to fight them. They eventually get married and she's pregnant when the Kraang kidnap her again. Mona becomes a lizard lady, but escapes and rejoins Kurtzman. Then she gives birth to Mona Lisa; they knew it wasn't safe for them to stay in New York, so Kurtzman organizes a hidden spot for his family to stay until Mona Lisa is old enough to rejoin her father.
Yeeeeeeah....my brain does that sometimes. Though, I can't help but think that THIS is like the Venus "cameo." The writers knew some people want Mona Lisa to come back, so this is a shoutout to the fans saying "Ok, you wanted a lizard lady. Here she is! Happy? Good, back to the show."
All and all, this was a lot of fun, though once again none of my predictions came true. (Sorry Victory. No pizza/ice cream party yet). It sort of did with Bebop and Rocksteady discovering the retromutagen and capturing Donnie, but not in the way that I was thinking. We're still waiting to find out if Shredder will discover about this now that Karai is in his possession again. Though it might changes since MIKEY is the one who made it. Then again, maybe Donnie will take the fall for him to protect him and.....yeah, my fan part of my brain is going a mile a minute, so I need to stop and rethink some stuff.

Fantastic episode! LOVED how the Mutanimals were handled and hope they'll be semi-regular support from now on.
Also, on kind of a random note, anyone notice that the voice Tom Kenny used for Rockwell was pretty much the same one he used for Gibson from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go? Gibson was also a super genius monkey and Ciro worked on both shows. Almost like it was intentional or something. ;)

GOOD
- I loved SubPrime. His rant about New York and the invasion and 'why can't you speak English' (that is a genuinely good point - how long have they been on Earth now?) was epic.
- I thought the Irmabots was a bit of a middle finger to some of the hardcore fanatics who think we should rename the show to The Adventures Of Irma feat. Occasional Banter With The Turtles.
- Little shoutout to Space Heroes. Leo having his mini nerd spasm.
- Nods to Terminator and The Shining.
- Mikey being a Dimension X genius again.
- Mikey and Leatherhead.
- So happy Dr Rockwell was a Mutanimal. The eye-popping is a great touch. And is he really voiced by Tom Kenny? I was trying to find out but all the online streams cut before the credits.
- Good mix of mutants for Mutanimals. There seems to be direct parallels between Team Turtle and Team Mutanimal in terms of members.
- The fact they teleported the Kraang back to Dimension X covering up a possible plot hole of 'we're returning the humans under Kraang rule in Dimension X, back to NYC where they'll be under Kraang rule'.
- Again, the lack of April. It's obviously a budget thing because they've got all the cameos but it's nice they didn't do the superpowers as a story short cut.
- The music during the sequence where the stealth ship got attacked by the new double headed Kraang dragons was just...
- The fog! We've had rain, snow and now we have fog.
- Greg's English professor accent.
BAD
- Return of Kirby.
- Surprised Krang Prime was nowhere to be seen - but understandable with all the other cameos. The invasion is effectively being reversed and the enemy leader nowhere in sight.
- Repetition of previous scripts. This is getting a bit tiresome. "I don't know how but they found me." "Awww Kraang." All we needed was 'snap out of it' and we would've had the full set.
- I thought Kurtzman dying would've been more powerful than Kurtzman seemingly being mortally wounded and then emerging with a mere arm sling at the end.
- The obvious plot hole of the differing time scales between Earth and Dimension X. It was a great idea for the Mikey episode but now they're going to have a constant plot hole looming over any episodes concerning Dimension X.

Things that I loved:
-All the intervention of the mutant animals.
-The fact that Mikey can be a genious.
-Slash
-The battle on Dimension X
-April's dad coming back.
Things that I hate it:
-Sub-Prime in Irma's suit.
-Irma-Bots.
(I know you guys don't like me to talk about this character, but I just loathe what they have dne to Irma! And also it's pointless. Couldn't the Kraang figureout another human model or what?!)

Hm, totally forgot the EPF was not shown or reference in this episode. I do hope that's leading up to Bishop soon.
After all the Kraang might be gone for now but they still haven't defeated Kraang Prime (aka the true Krang), so I don't think we've seen the last of them.

I noticed more things are happening at Dimension X than on earth. The turtles probably took hours travelling around the open space in the blimp to find the humans, fighting the Kraathatrogon and losing the blimp, stealing the Kraang stealth ship, escaping the Dragotroid chase, hijacking the Technodrome etc. While the Mighty Mutanimals opening the portal, fighting the Kraang and lost, to fighting back and re-opening the portal might all be happening within the same hour. It's possible that a temporal difference still exist between the two dimensions.

I don't normally nitpick but the only things that I wondered about was,
Where was Kraang Prime?
When turtles were traveling on that rocket heading into space towards the sun, shouldn't they have trouble breathing.

The true Krang was obviously still plotting while his underlings were being defeated. The fact that we didn't see the true Krang appear in this episodes proves he'll be in it at a later date.

They weren't in space, just the higher atmosphere.

The reptile woman is most likely a throw away reference to Mona Lisa, similar to the Ace Duck image previously. or the Venus reference. I don't see any of those characters ever actually appearing on the show. IF they ever do introduce any female mutants characters, it'll most likely be along the lines of Alopex.
Also, "Ahh, Alien Turtles!" Michael Bay reference, and the obvious "Go Ninja, go Ninja, go!" via Mikey.
One of my favorite bits though, was Leo geeking out, "Like Space Heroes." Other favorite part, virtually no April, thank goodness, I really hate her character in this show. She and Kirby need to go on a long vacation and not return for a long time. With the Kraang sub-plot on hiatus now, she's even more useless.

Pretty cool stuff. Not quite as dramatic as I was expecting, but it's for sure not the end of the Kraang. I absolutely loved the fact that KSP mentioned that they've been failing at this for thousands of years lol.
Kinda mad he died though... would rather have seen Kraang Prime get killed and KSP take over.
I like that Slash is a hero now. It wasn't Shakespeare or anything, but his character arc has been cool. He was initially bad due to Raph, tragically enough. His negativity wore off on Spike so much that when he became fully sentient the only logical course of action he sought was to off the other 3.
What was up with his mouth though? Looked like he went on a Cheetos binge.

This definitely isn't the end of the Kraang, but I do hope it's a substantial break from them and that they're gone for the rest of the season.
We just finished 13, so we're halfway through the season. Our first one hour special was geared towards the Kraang and that's it, so I'm hoping that the one hour finale will be geared towards Shredder rather than having the Kraang return.

Its rather interesting that Slash being part of the Mutanimals is because he sort of became an unofficial member of them at the end of the Archie run and he died along with them. I also felt like Merdude was going to become a Mutanimal if Murphy didn't kill them all.

I noticed that on Slash too, he seemed to be rocking some orange coloration around the mouth that wasn't previously there.
Despite it not being said, but because of its sheer awesomeness. Professor Ice Cream Kitty for the win! Amazing how one of the biggest joke characters in the series, has had more appearances than virtually any of the other mutants, and has become a fully fleshed out character in her own right. In one week there were not one, but two Ice Cream Kitty custom figures on the Figurerealm Customs website.

So Subprime has more screen time in this episode than in The Invasion? How did he even survive getting crushed by debris?
And why did Slash even recruit Pete? If I remember correctly, that mutant pigeon is not suitable for combat. He even cried out uncle when the Turtles pinned him down.

Slash is the brute (like Raph) but he's the leader of his team like Leo.
Leatherhead also is the brute force on the team but more on par with Leo then Raph.
Pete is a spaz like Mikey
Rockwell is the brains of the team. It's good Donnie has someone he can relate to on an even level (kinda like how Donnie and Leatherhead were the brainiacs in the 2k3) but I hope it doesn't boil down to intellectual pissing contests everytime then encounter.
As for the Newtrilizer, he was wanting vengeance upon the Kraang. So now that the Kraang have been defeated, he is going to want to take out the people who he feels robbed him of his vengeance.
@Bitsy83
I agree none of my predictions thus far have come true. However Rocksteady and Bebop know the Turtles have Retromutagen or know how to acquire it. But they don't know the Turtles well enough to know who created it. And they also have captured Karai so Shredder will be wanting to have a way to return her to normal.
Now that the humans of New York have been restored no normal that would also garner the Shredder's interest as that would mean that someone has an ability to reverse Mutations. So perhaps the Rocksteady and Bebop would slip that the Turtles had Retromutagen and Stockman would say it was probably Donatello.

So are people on tumblr complaining about Irma's "return" only to see a bunch of Irma robots to add salt into the wound that they wanted her to be real?
It just don't make any sense!! Why did they need more Irma-Bots?!
Specially Sub-Prime. Wouldn't he prefer a male or a manly rbot desing?? The writers made a great episode with just one HUGE bad using of character.

Holy crap! I loved this hour-long episode! It seriously feels like Season 3 is finally starting! Both this and "The Pig and the Rhino" had a lot of action. I'm changing my mind about the Mutanimals. I wasn't that thrilled when I first heard about them. But they weren't annoying (my biggest fear) or tried to steal the spotlight. They were like... a B Team. :P
I'm glad Kurtzman is back... and did I see a Mona Lisa cameo? :twink:

Very well done episode, A nice Avengers-esque story, and I'm seriously hoping that this is the last we see of the Kraang for a while. Also, what the hell was up with that lizard thing in the trench coat?
It's not a trench, it's a men's white shirt (similar to Kurtzman's) over men's boxers in what appears to be Kurtzman's office, wearing what appears to be one of his hats. In other words Kurtzman's been shacking up with a lizard lady...

See them in a row and I was like screaming in one place and I was really really excited for this. It was great! Unique! And loved how the turtles worked together with the Mutanimals. I just pretty hope they will show up later. Loved the relationship between Leatherhead and Mikey it was just sooo sweet. My heart feels warm and tingly right now. I just could hug everyone beacuse of these episodes. Cannot believe I found them online, too! :D
Raph looked proud and satisfied when Leo and Slash agreed at the end. It was great to see the relationship between them, too. :D

Well, he was quick to try and hide them image, the Kraang have been on the planet centuries and we knew there were mutants prior to the New York mutants, he's awfully non-surprised by mutants... I'm just saying his past is mostly unknown, with the picture suggesting her in his clothes... he may have had certain...connections with mutants in the past.
Personally I'm pretty sure it was a throwaway reference/joke, but it could easily be viewed in a manner more than that.

Although this was probably obvious, its interesting how the 4 Mutanimals' personalities paralleled the Turtles:
Slash = Leonardo (both were leaders)
Leatherhead = Raphael (temper)
Rockwell = Donatello (intellect, both the brains of the team)
Pigeon Pete = Michelangelo (both act stupid, make random ridiculous or silly comments)
Maybe that's why there was only 4 Mutanimals to parallel the Turtles. Makes you wonder if they'll add more team members.

God-tier episode. The Mighty Mutanimals are cool. I never cared for Rockwell at ALL & I was not into the idea of him being part of the team, at first. But between his new design, added attributes, change of posture, & killer voice actor (Tom Kenny, who I've wanted on board for a long, long time!), I am so totally sold on him. Slash getting a more active role with lots of lines is sick, Corey kills it. Pete's the man, & LH is always rad. I was super psyched to see so many returning characters (Biotroids, Kraang Sub Prime, etc) as well as the continued jabs at Irma, bahaha. Savage Mikey! Yessss. Really glad that this Kraang stuff can be put aside for a minute. Now if we could just wrap up the Karai plot... I wonder if we'll get to see the MM vs. Shredder's mutant team, The Abominable Animen. :tlol:

Loved these episodes. Lots of fun nods to things past, and an actually very fun story. One thing that still kinda weirds me out is Leo's being the one turtle the most antagonistic of Slash. I'd figure Raph would still have the most anger at Slash, and Slash has appeared since he thrashed the brothers, so why is Leo so bent out of shape NOW? Because Slash as leader is some fun-house mirror image of him?

I liked his voice delivery, but he's likely an intended all-new character. Kraang Prime has too many similarities to the original, such as living in the Technodrome, having a huge Android body with an antenna that looks similar to his old android body in the OT, working with Shredder for a while, being the leader from Dimension X and trying to conquer the world, etc.
I mean let's face it, we have Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady in the show and endless other Fred Wolf nods. No way would they not have the other most iconic villain of the original toon not in the show, and that's why Kraang Prime exists.

I'd like to see her become fully human again, & then go off by herself. Take a trip to Japan & train in the mountains, clear her head, find herself, etc. Maybe she comes back in the following season as the leader of a new clan of ninjas, good or bad.

Kraang Sub-Prime has a robot suit designed to look humanoid, like OT Krang, which stands at around 10 feet or so, like OT Krang, & he can't stand his peers due to their lower intelligence, like OT Krang, & even delivered the line "I am surrounded by incompetence!", like OT Krang.

To get resolved, for one.
And they seem to want her home with them, but it should really boil down to if she personally wants that. Though no way she willingly wants anything to do with Shredder anymore.
It would've been so interesting and ripe with potential for her adjusting to this new situation and getting to bond/make amends with each Turtle, Splinter, and even April in some way.
But too bad this show's tendency for mutations had to make that all a missed opportunity for the time being.
EDIT: Or what Powder said about her not joining them at all and just go off for a while to eventually return better and stronger so she'll challenge Shredder for control of the Foot Clan. That's good too.

See, I was never actually exposed to OT Irma, being that I was born way after turtlemania's first go. I sorta got into them via comics so this is my first exposure to Irma even though I'm aware she was hated during the original cartoon, but when I saw her in the Nick show, I loved her character, she was snarky, fun, sarcastic and adorable. I can totally accept she's probably just a robot and was never a real person, but i still have that little glimmer of hope she might have been a human at some point who was kidnapped and replicated. But no female friends? She is a 16 year old High School girl. I mean I'm no expert on these things, but I'm pretty sure teenage girls have lots of friends.
THIS is mainly the reason why I hope the lizard woman in that picture WASN'T Mona Lisa. Yeah, I'd like to see her hook up with Raph, but I really want April to have a bff that's a girl. Having guy friends is great, but girls need that equal peer to talk to and such and since Irma was a Kraang and Karai looks like she won't be joining the team anytime soon, then April needs a girlfriend.
I already made a possible head cannon on how they could introduce her: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=1429709&postcount=25
I also thought of some more stuff. To be clever, they could have the mother be called "Mona Kurtzman" and the daughter "Lisa Kurtzman." Like maybe Lisa was living with her mutated mother in secret out in the country, but was discovered by the EPF and were taken into custody. They were then separated and Lisa was taken to a EPF facility that focused on adolescent mutants or people who were BORN mutants. April would be hunted down and taken to this same facility and she befriends Lisa. April tells Lisa about her friends the mutant Turtles and how she knows her father, so they make plans to bust out. Lisa turns out to be really good at hand-to-hand combat and with April's psychic powers and kunoichi skills, they escape together and go on a little road trip all the while the Turtles are looking for them.
This would not only be a great way to get to know April away from the Turtles, but to finally have another strong female character on the show that would be more than a love interest. I'm not sure how my idea of Lisa would look since she'll be based off of...that picture. I assume if my theory is correct, she'd have a bit more human DNA than her mother since her mother was 50% human and 50% lizard. Lisa would then be 75% human and 25% lizard, so maybe her features wouldn't be as extreme as her mom's.

LONG POST.
After spending roughly an hour trying out different Chrome-based proxies, I managed to watch the episode in full at last!.
Yay, Irma's back! Oh... wait ;)
Great to see the Mutanimals, especially Slash and Leatherhead. I love how Rockwell can speak now. I didn't like him at first but now I love him.
Why are people saying this was an hour-long episode, when it's actually around 44 mins? :P
TURTLE BLIMP! :D
Where was Krang Prime!? :trolleye:
Lets face it - Krang Sub-Prime is this series' version of OT Krang, for sure.
Was the jump into the second episode a little sudden? One second they were in NY and then they were in Dimension X. Did my stream get cut short?
Nope, that happened to mine too.
What did April do in this two parter?
Absolutely nothing.
Anyone notice the plothole? They seemed to ignore the fact that time moves faster in Dimension X than on Earth, which is why Mikey was "gone for months" when he jumped there first and the Turtles later the first time they went. In this episode the Dimension X and Earth stuff was happening at the same time.
The plothole was indeed bizarre.
Perhaps it's because those little triangle portals aren't powerful enough. However using the big daddy portal from TCRI allows you to come and go at the same rate.
^ This.
Repetition of previous scripts. This is getting a bit tiresome. "I don't know how but they found me." "Awww Kraang." All we needed was 'snap out of it' and we would've had the full set.
Odd, I don't remember "Awww Krang" ever being used before. I thought it was funny :P
Seriously why don't you just go ahead and watch the episode at the Nick site (http://www.nick.com/videos/clip/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-995-full-episode.html) instead of asking questions here? If you're outside of US you can always use Hola (http://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hola-better-internet/gkojfkhlekighikafcpjkiklfbnlmeio) to view the page.
Hola has been really temperamental with me lately. Every time I try to access Nick.com I get THIS (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18/THGhost/holafail.jpg).
I'd recommend Easy Proxy (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/easy-proxy/egnccllcfmpcmeccejlbbnmobnaglbka).
I swear some of Godfried's delivery sounds a touch like Pat Fraley.
He really does, which makes him perfect for the role. :D
you're wrong when you search Irma on Turtlepedia it comes up as Krangg Sub Prime. Also no wikipedia on the internet is 100% real. Anyone can edit that info.
But then it's edited back by admins, isn't it? ;)
I don't particularly care about Irma either way, but it does seem odd that April has no human friends in school now.
Um...Casey....
But no female friends? She is a 16 year old High School girl. I mean I'm no expert on these things, but I'm pretty sure teenage girls have lots of friends.
I'd be perfectly fine with this series introducing some new characters to be April's friends. Anyone else?

You've known about this for how long and haven't done anything about it why?
I'm probably the number one opponent of Cubed pretending Hun is really Akira What in the name of Hamato Yoshi would make you think I would allow that if I knew about it?
Dammit people you can't expect us to have anywhere close to 100% accuracy if you don't fix what's false or at the very least tell someone who can make a fix.
Every time I come into a topic anymore someone is pointing out how terrible the Wiki is for having an inaccuracy they noticed long ago that has slipped past us. It's almost as if you want it to be inaccurate.
To be honest, I only realised it was there a few days back and assumed Akira was his name, it was only until I saw those posts I realised it was completely false. Now I know you're an admin there, I can at least PM you if I see any vandalism. I'd make an account myself, but I always worry I'll break the coding somehow on wikia by changing something.

No problem man, when something's your hobby and someone trashes it, it grates. Me saying everything on there was bullcrap was totally uncalled for, I just meant that I dislike that sometimes you can't always trust stuff you see on there because random users will just vandalise it. I'm glad that Hun's "real" name has been removed though. Given that I was totally mislead by it at first.

I'd like to think I'm not one of those psychotic fans of her, though. Given that I can completely accept she probably won't return, as much as I'd love her to.
Well Irma (alongside the rest of the Channel 6 crew) don't seem to be characters that remembered with as much fondness as the other main characters. Maybe it's because they distract from the plot of the episodes, maybe it's because they seem a bit out of place or maybe it's because they are thought of as annoying. Regardless, they're not as popular as the heroes or the villains.
Hehe, come to think of it, they're in countless episodes yet they seem less fondly remembered than characters like Mondo Gecko who were barely in the show at all.

Saw the episode last night, and I'm surprised that there isn't a flashback showing how Subprime and Leatherhead survived their respective battles in The Invasion. Found it entertaining that the former plays as the special's main villain.
Ironic that through a failed experiment, the Kraang are responsible for Rockwell's restoration of his sense of humanity and superior intellect. And because he was voiced by Frank Welker in Monkey Brains, I expected him to sound like Fred Jones.
Nice jab from Raph to point out that Pigeon Pete is the "weakest mutant" ever. And Mikey is on a roll, from a faster way to make Retromutagen to Savage Mikey.

The kraang has not been defeated the turtles only teleported them back to dimension x but they can come to earth at any time they want again. I didnt like that there was no Kraang prime i was expecting that there will be a big battle between kraang prime and turtles at the end. If this was the end of the kraang then they would have killed kraang prime. But at least now they can foucs more on me until the kraang returns.

I loved these episodes. I found them online commercial free and enjoyed them thoroughly. So much to mention..
I loved how Leo was a bit miffed at Mikey taking over in Dimension X. Savage Mikey rocked. I just adore Mikey when he's in charge.
Was Kirby acting a bit weird or did I imagine that?
It was so cool to see the Mutanimals working together. Slash is amazing.
I found it humorous how Raph reacted to seeing the lizard woman. I mulled her over for a while and I'm wondering if she was just a joke or if she will somehow come into play at some point. On the flip side. Mikey's expression was one of confusion, which still makes me wonder if he's ready to find a girl attractive.
Did the blimp survive? Maybe I missed what happened to it by the end.
Leo's excitement at transporting like Space Heroes was very cute.

Now....let's talk about this little tidbit, shall we?

.....headcannon.
I love your theory on the gill woman. I would love to see her as a character or to learn that her daughter is Mona Lisa. She's too cool looking to not get to know more about her.

Perhaps that lizard woman he brought in, Was one of the victims, from the mutation after all those canisters fell from the sky during Season 2, Which I'm surprise that haven't fully addressed, There are still plenty of canisters unaccounted for.

This, so much. I admit, I am not a huge fan of the Krang or most of the episodes centered around them, but Kraang Sub Prime was one of the first times I actually enjoyed watching them. I really hope he isn't dead and makes a comeback at some point.
As for the episode as a whole itself, not bad. The mutanimals were enjoyable as I love Slash and Leatherface (and watching Mikey and Leatherface interact, as Mikey is adorable) The story as a whole didn't really grab me at first, but I slowly got into it because of the execution: lots of humor, right amount of drama, tons of action, and sexy out-of-nowhere lizard chick.
I still didn't like it as much as TR&TP, but for a Krang-centric episode, it was pretty awesome.

It's Sir Malachi, who I'm wondering if he will appear again with new powers like Doc Roc did. He is good as he left the turtles on positive terms. And I guess Spider Bytez is good as those kung fu frogs saved him from the Kraang.

Not really, although I can't think of his story going anywhere unless you add something to his character. He started as a pigeon so there isn't a back-story for him. The only solution is double mutation or a life-threatening situation that results in him training.

So we know regular retromutagen can't affect Karai. But possibly that super retromutagen can.
So if Donnie gets abducted and forced to create a cure for Karai, Mikey is seriously going to need to try and remember what he did to create that additive.
Now THAT would be an interesting episode! When Shredder finds out about the retromutagen and Stockman tells him it was Donnie who made it, Donnie gets captured and (maybe) tortured for the formula. Even though he doesn't know it, he pretends like he does to A) protect Mikey and B) buy his brothers or himself enough time to rescue him. Meanwhile, Mikey finds out that the retromutagen was the reason for Donnie's capture and is ridden with grief over his brother being taken, so much that he actually approaches Bebop and Rocksteady (or any of the other henchmen) and claims that he's the one who made the retromutagen. They laugh at him because there's no way the "stupid turtle" would create something like that.
Back at the hideout, the Turtles, April, and Casey are discussing/arguing over what to do about Donnie while Mikey's hiding out in Donnie's lab with Ice Cream Kitty. The echoes of the henchmen laughing at him and Donnie are pounding in his head and eventually, he just snaps and gets right to work on making the retromutagen and is successful.
He then goes to Shredder's lair alone and demands to see his brother for the retromutagen. Meanwhile, Rocksteady is busy using Donnie as a punching bag, claiming how the Turtle is "ready to be spilling beans," when Shredder orders them to bring Donnie topside. They tie up Donnie and bring him to the throne room where Shredder has Karai in a cage and Mikey guarded by Footbots. Seeing that Donnie's still alive, Mikey agrees to hand over the retromutagen, despite Donnie's protests. While Mikey thinks that Shredder will use it on Karai first to make sure it's genuine, Shredder says how he wouldn't be foolish enough to test something given to him by his enemy on his own daughter and goes to try it out on Donnie. Mikey fights and tries to stop Shredder, but just before Shredder can pour it over Donnie, the gang crash into the lair, knocking the canister out of Shredder's hand and on to Karai's cage, turning her human again.
As the fight commences, Leo goes to Karai and tells her he'd get her out of the cage, but she stops him. She tells him to get her brother and escape; no matter what she says, do NOT come and rescue her. Leo doesn't understand and slips him a wink and calls for retreat. As they're escaping, Karai calls out and begs the Turtles to take her with them. Leo looks back and almost breaks his promise, but retreats anyway.
Shredder goes to Karai and sees that she's "distraught" at her friends abandoning her and tells her that they will always see he as an enemy. They must never be trusted; he is her father and Splinter will never be. Karai silently nods her head as Shredder opens the cage, then she hugs the Shredder. The last shot we see is a strange look in Karai's eyes, almost as if she's hiding something.
***
Ok, that last part came out of my head as I was writing this. Basically, I think if Karai goes back to human, she's going to pretend to rejoin the Foot so she can plan a proper execution of Shredder. You know, friend's close; enemies closer. That's what she told Leo to abandon her so it would look like they were acting cowardly and betrayed her. I just can't see Karai going back to the Turtles QUITE yet. And I think Leo knows that's what she's planning, which sort of breaks his heart that she cares more about her vendetta then reuniting with her real father.
(Ok, I'm going to link this in the "Turtles Torture" thread as well. I really wasn't expecting it to be this long)

That is a possible idea for a situation.
We know Stockman knows Donnie is able to create Retromutagen, but he probably conveniently forgot because of plot convenience. And because he is mutant fly.
Rahzar also knows that retromutagen has been created before. But he hasn't mentioned it to the Shredder as he probably' didn't think it mattered.
In Pig and Rino.
Bebop found the retromutagen after he knocked Donnie out but he didn't know what it was when he found it. Mikey blurted out that it was retromutagen when he sees Bebop has it. Unknowingly exposing Donnie as the creator
( I was at least right about Donnie being captured tried trying to help April. And that Donnie and Raph were in the van. And I was correct that Donnie would be exposed as the creator of the Retromutagen. But still Pizza and Ice Cream party another day.)
After the midseason finally, the fact the humans of the city have been restored and returned will certainly not escape the Shredder's notice. That and the fact the Kraang have been defeated. So he would know there is someone who is able to reverse mutations.
I can see Rocksteady pointing out that they could get the drop on Shredder by revealing that the Turtles have Retromutagen or one of them is able to create Retromutagen.
We don't know if they saw the Turtles fail at curing Karai. It's possible they did however, but feel Shredder doesn't need to know that.
Stockman then reveals it was probably Donatello as he is the brains among the Turtles. Rocksteady and Bebop think they can capture and force Donatello to created the retromutagen for them so they can have their humanity restored get out of the city without problem. As they were given the choice of serving Shredder or dying at the hands of the Shredder. And Rocksteady has said "We will serve you...for now."
Rahzar, Fishface and Stockman also feel they would be able to apprehend him easily.
Shredder is short sighted, but not stupid I would see him sending Tiger Claw out to apprehend Donnie at the very least. But have the other hench-mutants distract the turtles or pick him off from the rest of the team.
However when Donnie is captured he would have to reveal that he is useless to them because the Retromutagen didn't work on Karai. Stockman would say he has to be lying...but Tiger Claw doesn't feel the Turtle is making that up. But at the same time, there is the matter that the populous of New York was restored in-mass which would be hard to explain why Karai can't be cured but millions of people can.
Shredder would probably have his hench mutants torture and beat Donatello in order for him to make a cure for Karai.
Also when Mikey is messing with the chemicals and created the additive thing for the Super Retromutagen. We see him put random things in such as fish bones and a slice of pizza in there and a small drop of the additive was accidentally put in to create the Retromutagen. But when Donnie asks Mikey about what he used, Mikey doesn't remember. He just lists off what he thinks he may have used.
So even if Donnie is keeping silent to protect Mikey, they can't guarantee that Mikey would successfully be able to create the super-retromutagen again.

This was probably my favorite episode ever. I can't think of anything I'd change about it. Mikey gets to contribute a lot (although it was easy to see Donnie and Leo were starting to get a little tired of having their roles usurped), the Mutanimals were a lot neater than I thought they'd be, and the fight scenes were fantastic. You could tell that the turtles had definitely learned some new skills, and I particularly enjoyed watching Mikey show off at the start of the first half.
Unimpressed Leo is very unimpressed. He was crabbier this episode than I think he's ever been, but I liked how he was portrayed (and watching him have a little outburst over Space Heroes was pretty hilarious). I liked Donnie and Monkeybrains' little feud too- it was a nice touch for them to step on each other's intellectual toes. Raph looked so happy to see Slash that he was almost cross-eyed with joy. It's the little details that make an episode fantastic, and I can't even list them all (although I was very impressed that they remembered to blow their mask tails upright when they were piloting the Technodrome).

"Irma" fans will surely RAGE over this episode. However... I thought I did see a mutated human character with Irma's style of dress in the crowd scenes. Just saying...

I know what skirt your talking about, someone else had mentioned it another website. I re watched the episode and that was actually the blonde lady that you see from time to time also wearing a checkered skirt. You see her step out on her balcony during the invasion.

lol so are all CGI shows this lazy? There were TWO new things. The missile and that stupid dragon thing. Everything else was super recycled. Mutanimals? Yeah the boring characters to cut costs. Even the blimp was recycled because they had to make that for the intro. They even recycled the while blonde woman with the headband in her hair and made her black. Change her face? Not all but yes, CGI shows tend to keep the budhet down as much as possible.
Transformers Prime is a good example, it takes place mostly in the desert and only features a handful of actual characters.

Did you expect the Mutanimals to be new characters? The previous two incarnations were made up of already introduced characters... why would this be any different?
It's also not lazy so much as CG assets are redonkulously expensive and time-consuming to produce.

Complaining about re-used models when all the Kraang look practically the same, and all the robots (like Irma or the teacher Ms. Cambell) are mass-produced like the Kraang exoskeletons is pointless.
Also complaining about the Mutanimals being re-used models because they brought back old characters? What?

Hey all. I finally got to see this episode tonight. It was pretty interesting and it was nice to see Kurtzman again, although, I still say there's more to him than meets the eye. How the Mt. Fuji does he manage to get his information on the Kraang. I mean, geez, no one's that good.
The beginning of the ep had me scratching my head. Mikey messing with the checmicals and then about to mix it with Donnie's retromutagen? Good grief....but at least it was a good discovery and I wonder if that batch of retromutagen would've helped to cure Karai...somewhat... Who knows.
Oh, it was nice to see the mutanimals make a debut. So at the moment we have two original members (Slash and Leatherhead) and two new (Rockwell and Pete). I now wonder if they'll manage to finally cure him and I hope the Rat King comes back at some point. Think about it! Dr. Rockwell and Splinter vs Rat King. It wouold be awesome...imo, and well warranted. I also hope that Sir Malacchi and the Newtralizer return at some point.
I know others had to have mentioned this, but I loved Mikey and Leatherhead hugging. It was so adorable. It makes me want to go back and rewatch all of the Leatherhead eps.
Kraang Subprime....wow. lol Everything he said was what I already was thinking and had posted elsewhere in this forum. The Kraang have been on earth for thousands of years and they still can't speak naturally or get anything done. Like I said when I first started watching this show, I like the irony regarding the Kraang. They're a bunch of brains, but they aren't all that bright.
Let's see, what else....*snickers over Slash's "Darn Dirty Ape" line. Oh! Tell me I wasn't the only one who thought of the Thundercats when Slash was like, Mutanimals go! Or was it, Mutanimals Hooooo!" Sounded like the latter to me.
I enjoyed Mikey's taking control in Dimension X. One thing I found interesting compared to the first time they went there, was how Leo was giving orders and Raph and Donnie were listening to him while Mikey kind of sulked because they weren't listening to him. For this ep, Mikey straight up took command and even told Leo, "I'm leader in Dimension X". He was much more assertive than the first time, so it's nice to see that side of him on occasion.
Anywho, the ep was cool....oh and I like how Dr. Rockwell annoyed Donnie and he did that thing with his eyes. Dunno why that made me laugh so much.
That part where Donnie also acted like Scotty from Star Trek was nice and when Donnie said, "Stop pressuring me!" I also wanted him to say, "You make me want to scream!" ^^;;; I also liked Raph's, "You're not beaming my particles" after Leo was all excited over it, since it's like Space Heroes and imo, Seth did that line really nicely! So innocent and teen-like. I approve. *nods* lol
Now that the Kraang are temporarily dealt with, I can't help but wonder what'll happen next regarding Shredder and if the Mutanimals will even be around for that. They don't really have any connection to Shredder's situation, only the Kraang, unless they just randomly help the turtles.

This episode really rekindled my interest in this show. Not that I was "uninterested" before, but...things really started moving this time around. And seeing Pigeon Pete return has been one of my favorite moments from this series' entire run, even though he was most definitely a liability...but it's all good.
One thing I didn't like was Rockwell. He's kind of a jerk, and he's voiced by the ubiquitous Tom Kenny - whose inclusion I should've seen coming at some point or another, but still. I've heard his voice far too many times for me to connect with that character...but I guess it's fine. Same reason I didn't like Roger Craig Smith as Pulverizer (there were other reasons I didn't like Pulverizer...). Seeing them re-introduce Rockwell with reimbursed powers was pretty glorious, though. Not gonna lie.
Oh, and Irma. About a month ago, I despised that plot twist in The Invasion...but I like that they're embracing that now. Using "Irma-Bots", and having Kraang Sub-Prime continually use that guise even though he no longer needs it. I like that a lot. It's very tongue-in-cheek. So if human Irma doesn't come back, I'm cool with that. Sh*t happens.

AW, I WAS GONNA POST THAT!!!!!
Wanted to get the artist's permission first, but still if she were to be introduced, THIS would be an awesome design. I love how her fins are designed like her hair, since i know a lot of fans don't want her bald (which I have also seen done, but REALLY cute!).
Ever since I saw that pic, I really don't think that was a Mona Lisa shoutout. Just a "wrong slide" gag like someone said earlier. However, if the writers did go back to that, they could make it be Mona Lisa's MOM instead, making her Jack's daughter.
I have this theory that Kurtzman had a wife who was a scientist kidnapped by the Kraang and experimented on, but she was pregnant with Kurtzman's child when it happened. So when Mrs. Kurtzman gave birth, it was to a mutant baby who would be Mona Lisa. Much like April, she would be born with her mutations already and would likely be immune to retromutagen. I was thinking if the writers were REALLY clever, they could call Mrs. Kurtzman Mona and their daughter would be Lisa.
This would also be a great way to introduce the EPF. Like during the first invasion, Mona and Lisa were living in secret with Kurtzman and he sent them out of the city to hide in case the EPF showed up or the Kraang hunted them down. For the last two years, he's been keeping in contact with his family until he could tell them it was safe to come home. Once the Kraang are gone, Mona and Lisa prepare to sneak back into the city, only to be stopped by the EPF. They capture Mona, but Lisa gets away and manages to get to the City to seek out her father and he introduces her to the Turtles and the Mutanimals.
Also, I had this cute idea where Lisa discovers why the Kraang keep finding her dad. She gets his smart phone and looks through the settings: "Daaaad! I told you; turn OFF your GPS signal!"

Something about this Mona Lisa/Mona and Lisa idea rubs me the wrong way. I'm not saying "Mona was bad and will be bad" or "We don't need another female character on the show" but if by the end of the season Karai is retromutated back into a human and goes to the turtles, the addition of yet another female character that would pal around with the Turtles would seem a bit redundant. Heck, we have enough mutants as it is, and a good portion are now affiliated in some kind of faction.

See, I really don't see Karai joining the Turtles. At least, not right away when/if she's turned back to normal. I made a prediction before that they're able to turn Karai back, but she chooses to stay with Shredder to a) fool him into thinking SHE thinks the Turtles betrayed her and b) waiting for an opportunity to get rid of Shredder once and for all. In all honestly, I truly think if Shredder is ever kill off on the show, it'll be by Karai's hand. And it'll put her in a weird place with her father because she cared more about revenge than she did with reuniting with her true father.
I know Karai is supposed to be "good" now, but she was raised by Shredder and she did say that she lived her whole life surrounded by "hatred and revenge," so it's not like she can just shake those off. And I could see her returning to Tokyo on her own as a sort of "soul searching" quest to find out her place in life. Maybe she'd appear again in the middle of season 4? I have this idea where the Turtles uncover "Kraang Artifacts" that have been scattered all over the globe and they need to locate them, so Kurtzman helps locate them and they use the blimp to spread out and search. They discover one in Japan and send word to Karai and she goes to look for it. I also see Mona Lisa teaming up with her in Japan and they sort of become a crime-fighting duo in Tokyo. (If a spinoff ever happened, THAT would be a neat one to see).
Like I said, this is all fan dreaming I'm sharing with you guys, but I honestly don't think Karai will be a live-in ally, despite the fact that Splinter is her father.

This is where I would disagree. I may be alone in saying but her being a snake mutant was a huge miss opportunity. Instead of being the writer's half excuse of her not being with the turtle, it could seriously been it been like a second character arc. The whole thing could been her trying to get know her estrange father but at the same time "getting close" could end his life, thus creating this cold distance between them.
You don't need Shredder at this point to create conflict for Karai. The mutation creates conflict by itself, but I guess without Karai, Shredder is a weak character.
I mean ****, there was a concept art of Splinter training snake Karai. I would pay money to see that.

The episode was okay but I find myself annoyed that the retromutagen didn't work on Karai. The whole serpent mutation thing is just a failed experiment IMO. It's like the writers decided they turned Karai away from the dark side too early in the series and then couldn't figure out how to develop her as a protagonist so they decided to take the chicken way out by making her a mutant. It's just lazy writing.

Gotta agree there. People do realize this would also happen in 2D animation, with artists reusing and repurposing background characters and prop designs. What the Nick TMNT cartoon does is no different than what any other show does at all. Go back and watch some of your favorite 90s cartoons and you'll see the same background characters pop up over and over and over (sometimes across different shows, like the DC ones).
Great two-parter which actually has be excited for the second half of the season. With the Kraang gone, the show can move forward with more Shredder stuff I hope.

Thank you; this, so much. Budget and time contraints play into the production a lot; it's not efficient to have to create something new every single time. Hell, even in live action, they'll reuse a group of extras several times in different positions for large crowd scenes.
Seriously, they're busy enough producing the show as it is without having to make new models and sets every single time; how long do you think these hiatuses would last if they didn't recycle things once in a while?!

I think part of the reason for that is where the characters are placed. April is right with the turtles, her powers have a much higher chance of overshadowing them and finishing episodes instead of letting the turtles do so. Rockwell's on a different team, and I assume will only be making guest appearances.
One is almost more of a main character than some of the turtles and the other one makes guest appearances. At least, that might be one way of looking at it. If you had Rockwell join the turtle team and fight with them as much as April does I think lots of people would have problems with that too.
Personally I don't think that April is overpowered. I like how she can contribute to the team, even though I'm sure she would still be able to do so even if she had no powers. My only problem isn't necessarily with her, but at the lack of character arc or importance in the story given to Raph and Mikey, which only emphasizes April's powers more since we have a secondary character with a clearly higher billing than two of the main characters. I'm expecting this to change though; Raph's got his dark arc coming up and Mikey will be hanging out with Renet in some way. So hopefully there'll be more balance with the turtles in the coming eps.
I will put in a complaint about how few New Yorkers there are in New York in general, though, and in this ep: "Millions of New Yorkers"... and we see, what, five or so on each of those TINY islands?
Haha, yeah I got that impression too. I know they can't do millions or even hundreds of people in this episode, but it was just a tad underwhelming. I would've been fine with maybe some 2D stills emphasizing how all of New York was there, but oh well.

Something i just realized is that Battle for new york are the first episodes of Nick show that are based on a IDW story at the same time. I mean the latest IDW issues were about the mutanimals and now in less than a month since the release of IDW mutanimal strory we got the Nick version of it. Do you think that this might happen again in the future? That we will get more episodes based on IDW comics?

That's probably just a coincidence. Besides, IDW's Mutanimals were foreshadowed in both City Fall, and Pete's debut issue. Speaking of City Fall, the guys at NYCC said that it's the only adaptation of an IDW story to be on TV.

No, the Dark Raph story is an IDW reference and will be similar to the Dark Leo story in City Fall. So they will be doing at least that IDW reference. And the Mighty Mutanimals were originally in the Archie Comics, so I think it's a reference to that story and not IDW. I think they just borrowed Pete from IDW.
They should make an episode based on an IDW comic.

This was a really fantastic episode!
I couldn't help myself and watched it online, 2 times now.
I'm honestly surprised that Leo was the only one suspicious of Slash.
I mean he nearly killed Mikey and Don, but I guess he did help them against the Kraang and Newtralizer the last time.
And it's great to see Kurtzman again, I really like him for some reason.
And I like him as being the boss of the Mighty Mutanimals.
If that is what he is, if he isn't then he should be.
Speaking of the Mighty Mutanimals, I really like the team lineup besides Pigeon Pete. But yay for having some Archie Adventures stuff in the toon!
I hope when Mondo Gecko shows up he joins the team as well.
Back to Kurtzman, I seriously thought he was dead when he got hit there.
I was like :teek:
I still hate Monkey Brains eyes popping out like that, why do they even do that? It's disturbing....
I'm glad they brought Irma / Kraang Subprime back.
I'm all for Gilbert Gottfried being the voice of cartoon characters and this is no exception.
He's really funny as this character and I love how he treats the other Kraangs like idiots.
It's funny also how the Irma head is all jacked up at the end of the episode. But I guess he's dead after that explosion? :ohwell:
On a side note I really do hope a toy gets made of the biodroid at some point.
They should forget the action feature it has and just release it as a normal figure with a Kraang that rides on it.
The line could seriously use another Kraang toy.
I can't lie either, I really like Mikeys Dimension X outfit, the toy will probably sell very well.
Oh and speaking of things from Dimension X, those Kraathatrogon's butt baby faces are still freaky hahaha!
That Drakodroid droid thing is seriously cool as hell.
It looks to be some sort of organic and machine mixed together.
What was the black thing the one Kraang droid had on it's head?
It looked like either some sort of robotic hat or wig lol!
I'm glad they had the humans not be able to breath, it made it rather dramatic and realistic.
Something TMNT often times in the past has not always been to good about.
I'm glad they turned everyone back to normal and Kirby is back with April.
It would have been funny/ clever if when she was yelling dad and he was like who are you?
But that'd lead into more Kirby stories and honestly I know I'm not the only fan of seeing the poor dude go through hell.
I do have to think about Timothy though and I really hope they will be able to change his goofy ass back to normal.
So are the Kraang gone now? Will they be back? I'm sure they will.
Sucks for Steranko and Anton as they could have waited a bit longer and avoided being mutated.
So is this the last episode for awhile again?
I really hope not after this nonstop action fest I just want more!:tgrin:

Since the Dark Raplh will also be based on IDW Dark Leo we will see more IDW characters like Kitsune and Hob. Kitsune for sure because she was in Dark Leo Arc and she was the one who brainwashed him. But instead of an alienwitch that she is in IDW she can be a human witch or a human with some super power in the Nick version

Tiger Claw is a bit of an anomaly, he seems like he would be cool but he just plain don't fit into the story, they gave him so much yet so little. There's no character development, they just made a character with a bunch details in place, instead of letting him develop over time.
Hob is a bit different, they created him to be a simple thug and then gave him some development, they didn't try force a bunch of crap into him at once thinking it people would instantly love him, what's interesting about grew in time. He starts out as a simple thug, then he becomes a test animal, then he's betrayed and starts hating humanity which leads to him starting a mutant army. There's a growth to his character.
So in a bizarre way, despite their physical similarities, Hob and Tiger Claw seem to be opposite in how they were created and developed as well as how they contribute to the story.
Hob started out very basic, just an emotional state and a simple backstory, then his actions moved the story along and fleshed out his goal and personality details.
Tiger Claw on the other hand has a ton of things about established in his first episode (he's even promoted to second in command right away) but he hasn't changed much since then, he has barely done anything that moves the story forward for the 26 episodes since his introduction.
OK now it's becoming a rant here, this is why I prefer the IDW series, crap like this!
How does the IDW series treat it's characters? Splinter, April, Casey, Karai, Hun, Baxter, Krang, Fugitoid, Hob, Slash, Harold, Lindsey, Renet, Kitsune, Zog, Alopex etc, hell, even Bebop and Rocksteady for Christ's sake, all of them either contribute to the storyline or they're actually fleshed out as characters! Sure there are some things that appear to be abandonned but most things seem to stay on track and keeps everything flowing. There are actual sub-plots developing which do in some part contribute to the main story.
The Nickelodeon show though? Got kind of stale in the second right? The main story about the Kraang trying to take over the world took 52 episodes to get anywhere and another 13 to reach (what is possibly) it's ultimate conclusion, which after almost a week of contemplating, did feel like it had rushed pace. Why did it take so long? Because they had to spend episodes on introducing characters like Spider-Bytez who barely even reappeared, if at all. Meanwhile, the characters that are meant to be mainstays grow stale because the lack of focus on them.
If you were to cut out all the episodes that lead nowhere and spliced together episodes that did lead somewhere but in such a small way it might as well be a scene in another episode, guess how long the series up until now would be? Probably shorter in quite a noticable way.
And then there's the sub-plot with the Foot... Urgh, despite being promoted as the main villain Shredder really does not do much does he? He's even absent for the first half of season 2, which puts all the character development of a Foot character on Karai untils she mutates, only then does Shredder show signs of taking a more active role. She mutates 48 episodes into the series, not only does this mean the Foot characters do very little for almost all of the first two seasons but it also makes Karai's character development really slow.
This is a serious problem, you can't commit to a serious story and make a great chunk of the episodes seem irrelevant. If you don't want purely episodic or serialised storytelling there is a spectrum, you can have an episodic show with a lot of world building or a serialised show that takes small breathers to develop the characters but this is just plain doing it wrong.

Let's kill two underdeveloped birds with one stone. Tiger Claw lost his tail to Xever somehow when Xever was still human. Somehow in a later episode Xever gets the double mutation treatment and becomes Armaggon, he is happy with his new power and tells Tiger Claw he is the one that did it, kicks Tiger's Claw's tail (by that I mean beats the living cat out of him) and leaves the Foot to join the Purple Dragons.

You've completely missed the point that these guys were trying to make. Old Hob and Tiger Claw are both feline. Just because he doesn't like the Foot Clan doesn't mean he is on the Turtles' side. I don't know a lot about him, but from what I've seen, their body shape and size are similar and they both wear eye patches. Hob cannot and most likely will not appear in the Nickelodeon incarnation of TMNT.

Finally get to stop avoiding this thread, now that it's 12 pages in and late to the conversation.
Pretty decent episode(s), good to see some characters reappear. Cool that Rockwell speaks now! Although I'll never stop cringing at that eye thing. lol
Loved how Leo and Slash ended it on different terms and what Slash said. Also, "Just like Space Heroes!" :) Nice to see a touch of the old Leo from back before he got all jaded with life and forced to grow up after prior events. And interesting(?) watching Leo and Donnie both reacting to feeling like their turf is being stepped on, esp Donnie.
Only thing I was a little "eh" on was the changing of all the people back to human again, that was awfully fast and easy for almost an entire city worth of people? Were they not somehow spread out working in groups on different floating island things or whatnot across Dimension X?
Whoever was in charge of the electricity must have seriously teleported right back to their chair if they turned it back on that fast. lol
I swear, if this Iguana lady or whatever she is shows up, I really kinda hope they don't intend on making her some kind of vixen. It would be awesome to have a female mutant added (even if not around much), not to mention an adult female of either human or mutant variety, but if they have to make her personalty reflect that image... I'll just facepalm early and get part of it over with.
Maybe it's just Kurtzman's unmentioned girlfriend, post mutation. Or just a friend. Hope she wasn't his pet. lol

Wanted to wait until the episode aired on Nick before giving my thoughts but I'm ready to do so:
Battle for New York was a good special, bringing back older characters and wrapping up the Kraang plot decently. Subprime was hilarious like last time and had more screen time this time around, which helped. ("HERE'S KRAANGY!") Also, more plot development with the mutants forming the Mighty Mutanimals. Slash and Leatherhead were going to appear no matter what to me (I haven't read the story of the team in the comics with Pete), but I'm especially surprised with Rockwell's addition. Besides the plot telling of it, why was Tom Kenney used instead of Frank Welker?
The only real problem I had was the lack of Kraang Prime in this special, but it does open up more storylines for the Kraang's return.
I'd rate it a 9/10, it was awesome. Let's see how the rest of the season continues with the Foot Clan, Purple Dragons, and new additions of mutants transpires. :tcool:

No, I don't agree. 8.8 is about right.
The weird thing is I think the thing that hurt was that it was a 2 parter. Because then you compare it to the others, and it's not as strong as T.M.P., or Invasion.
The spot they were able to end it, they could have just made it 2 seperate episodes and I think it would have come off even better. As two seperate, these would have been awesome, but as a 2 parter, it doesn't hold up to the other 2 part episodes.
8.8 is pretty much what I gave it. Real fun episode, but I didn't really feel like the "it factor" that the other hour long specials did. Maybe that's because Nick cast as a primetime special, so it doesn't feel as special to me.
Oh well, that's my take anyway.

Yeah this special is more of a light hearted and fun episode and had a happy ending so I wonder if the season final will be more serious and have a sad ending with another cliffhanger, like The Invasion so to balance things out a bit.
Out of of the special this is my 3rd favourite (so far)

2. The Manhatten Project
3. Battle for New York
4. Rise of the Turtle
5. Showdown

Awesome episode and I loved finally seeing Leatherhead again. I was actually sorta hoping they would get stuck in Dimension X. I guess the only thing I would have liked to have seen would've been for Casey to do more. It was still really good though. My biggest gripe would actually be Mikey doing something so incredibly reckless at the start of the episode. I feel like sometimes they make Mikey a little "too" stupid. The retro mutagen is incredibly valuable and even he should know it's not to be messed with. I've not read through the thread but did anyone else think that was a little over the top for Mikey?

Out of curiosity, I noticed that Leo said in Dimension X that they couldn't take down "A" Technodrome. So does this mean there are other Technodromes and the reason that really stood out to me is that I thought back about when the first one that we saw landed out and sunk to the bottom of the water and that as a cliffhanger. I can't remember if that Technodrome ever came out of that water. Does anyone else remember?

I loved this episode! I loved how Leo was wary of Slash and how Slash doubted himself after his team got captured just as Leo has doubted himself before. I also liked how at the end Slash said, "I just modeled myself after the greatest leader I knew. You." That was so sweet of him to say and I loved how they resolved their differences there. Also loved Leo geeking out over Space Heroes again. Seth did a great job on that line. Mikey making the retromutagen was a bit reckless, but it did work, so that's the main thing, right? I did feel the restoration was a bit rushed, but I still liked it. Loved seeing the Mutanimals and hope to see more of them.
That lizard lady was hilarious, and I also loved Kraang Sub-Prime. Too bad he's most likely dead. I'm glad Kirby's back, too, though his reunion with April didn't seem like much. I don't have my hopes up that he'll stay human though as his getting mutated is now a running gag and will more than likely happen again. If it doesn't, I'll be pretty surprised. Overall, a pretty decent episode.
Loved these quotes:
"We've been here for thousands of years, and you still can't speak English?"
"I'm surrounded by incompetence!"
"Stay frosty and keep quiet and all those other Leo-isms Leo likes to say."
"Just like Space Heroes!"
"Oh, Kraang!"
"Hey, you're not beaming up my particles!"

It was a great two part episodies. I liked the return of Kraang Subprime, he is a lot more competent in comparation to the other kraangs who aren't bright, they had no real individual personality, only serve as cannon fodder.
Unlike the other kraang, Kraang Subprime has his own individual personality, and he can handle the Turtles and the Mutanimals, Kraang Subprime acts like Krang's FW.
I like too see again Slash, Leatherhead, Pigeon Pete and Doctor Rockwell as the Mighty Mutanimals, and this time, doctor Rockwell is able to speak, because his has his intelligence back.
Is too bad the presence of many Irma bots, it means the real Irma doesn't exists in this show.
Mike and Don were great in this episode.
Slash reconciles with Leonardo in the end.
Is nice to see the woman reptile in the picture that Jack Kurtzman shows to the Turtles and the Mutanimal. It is a possible appearance of Mona Liza in future episodes.
