Hey all,

I just got back from my regular comic shop, and issue #4 should be out today! Unfortunately my store's shipment was sent to Seattle, and the truck won't make it back until later today. I have to go to work...so I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow! :(

*crosses her arms* Ooh, you have to wait a whole day! Poor SC!

*grumbles about having no comic shop close by, and her "ride" is up in Seattle apartment shopping*

*looks sheepish* Sorry.

Seattle? Ick. Portland is the place to be! But then, I'm biased. :D

Hey, I'd prefer anyplace to San Jose. I didn't mean to give you a hard time, I'm just restless. I'll have to order from the site again.

Ask your local comic book stores if they carry it. If they don't, ask if they can order it. I don't have a credit card either. I use checks to pay for mine when I order from Mirage. They take a few other types of payment too.

eBay or direct from Mirage are what I've done for comics. As soon as Mirage gets issue #4 listed, I'll be ordering another bunch of comics.

*shakes head* My poor checkbook...

:P I got my #4 yesterday! Oh, and now that I think about it, the woman on the cover was pretty obvious. I mean, how many female ninjas do the turtles know?

Yeah.. I got #4 today too... Very cool read!

SPOILER alert...

....

Ah.. so that's what Leo was doing. :P As for the news reporting onthe aliens... it was weird. Kinda reminded me of the 9/11 news coverage, but much more light hearted since there were no deaths involved.

And uhm... I guess I got used to the TMNT as being the only "unusual" citizins in the city. Somehow it feels very weird for there to also be all these superhero types all about the place. Makes it feel like the Tick or Savage Dragon now. Anyone else like/dislike the push on the the superheros?

And then we have Karai... whoof-da. I'll admit, I had to flip ahead a few pages to make sure it was a simulated setup. The apeance of SIX turtles and the creative fatal injuries they suffered put up a read flag that something wasn't right. . Man.. I wonder what bee got in her bonnet? Thought she didn't want war with the Turtles.... what had changed, I wonder?

I really enjoyed the new issue! I like the fact that its not jumping around between so many story lines. I thought the alien falling down the stairs was a good light-hearted touch too.

I agree that the superhero bit is a bit "odd". Of course, if you have superheroes...you should have supervillians.

I guess I'm kind of neutral to the seeing all the superheroes. I like seeing the turtles in a "real-world" environment, while I also would like to see them interact with superheroes, and maybe even fight a super-villian at one time or another (Just not too soon or often. I wanna see them fight the Foot, and meet Honeycut(t) and the Triceratons, first.).

i didn't know u could use checks for paying web stuff, that maybe a good chance for me to buy somethings i can't find in here, do u know if it works for other countries?

Of course they do. Just go to http://www.ninjaturtles.com/ and head to the comic books section for info.

You'll have to check the individual sites to see if they accept checks. Some won't, some only take credit cards, others will take money order. I know Mirage takes checks, but they have to be in U.S. currency, but very few sites do that, since their big businesses and take like hundreds of orders daily.

I'm not too sure about the super heroes... I know they were in a couple of the old comics. I remember Radical in one of the Tales of the Turtles and the others in issue 15 (?)
I like the idea of the hospital they can go to, but I'm unsure of the super heroes. Like all superheroes, they'll really have to grab my interest before I like them.

Yeah, what's up with Karai?! I thought it was a case of live and let live!

Ah, so it's confirmed...the new comic is out. Silly me...I posted in the other thread first.
*sigh*
That's what I get for being gone so long  Now I've got a new mission...to seek out the new comic and buy it!

Bwahahahahaha! I finally got the comic yesterday. I really want to see where this is going. I'm so excited.

All right! That's awesome news, Kali! So, didja read it yet?? What do you think of it so far??

Kali
07-24-2002, 05:59 AM
Yeah, I read it. Gah, I always get these books hoping they'll answer plot questions... Okay, so that's what Leo was doing... That's why Shadow's living with Splinter... Great first impression, Utroms...

But then they keep leaving me hanging! What exactly are the Utroms doing here? What werewolf incident? What's Karai thinking/going to do?

They're purposefully trying to drive us crazy, aren't they?

Skeletoncrew
07-24-2002, 12:49 PM
Yes. Yes, they are. I love the pic on the back of the comic too don't you?

Kali
07-24-2002, 01:18 PM
LOL! Yeah. My eyes like bugged out when I saw that. :o

That's a lot of Turtles.

HorseTechie
07-24-2002, 03:03 PM
yeah... *sai*

And I hate those cliffhangers too! The thing with Karai really has me intriqued (since she had wanted a peace treaty 15 years ago).

Kali
07-24-2002, 03:34 PM
Um, was that ever explained? Was it a hologram or just in her mind? If it was explained I definitely missed it.

azure turtle
07-24-2002, 09:14 PM
Huh? Y'mean when she was fighting? Those were real Foot Soldiers disguised using some sort of hologram device. And yes, good ol' Peter just loves giving us these cliffhangers, doesn't he? About that pic on the back of the comic...I totally envy Dan Berger for having that many MOC turtle toys. :goofygri:

Bowser_Koopa
07-26-2002, 08:22 AM
i'm sorry but what does cliffhanger mean?

Kali
07-26-2002, 11:30 AM
A cliffhanger is an ending to a story (be it comic, TV show, whatever) that isn't quite the end. I'm not sure where the term comes from.

Anything ending in "To Be Continued..." fashion could be considered a cliffhanger, leaving you wondering what's gonna happen next. Especially when they stop at an exciting part. Like someone being shot at or something. Writers love doing those.

Poor Ninja Nin... Did you try ordering from the official site?

Red

It's the same for me in South Carolina, Ninja Nin. I guess comic book shops aren't a strong point in the Southeast. I manage to get the new TMNT issues from http://www.thecomicbox.com, though. It has great service.
