So yeah, that's last minute. Even if he won't be in footage filmed for quite a while, he was still cast less than a week before filming.

You remember how they were shooting right in the middle of NYC, and people didn't know they were filming the movie, Even though it was obvious.

Filming is expected to happen in Albany and Buffalo, So hopefully we can get some images of videos from that, If anyone happens to be around the time, they start filming.

And what do those ever add to things, really? Even when they're used to their best effect, they're almost always action filler to draw out the length of a cartoon episode and/or promote a toy. And even then... how often have those scenes been a major focus of the story? To the point where the vehicles are some of the very first things they're promoting?

Besides, when they are there and the overall product/story is actually worthwhile, they're usually offset by an actual decent plot and some real character work/development. The last movie didn't have those things, and the sequel already has 4+ extra major characters and another "big" chase scene to sandwich in like the mountain sequence last time. Anyone wanna hold out hope that maybe, if there's any time left, they'll manage to fit in little, unimportant things like "plot" and "characterization" this time? :trazz:

Seriously, if the Turtles are going drive around in a vehicle, at least make it a vehicle that looks... Fairly normal.

Honestly, I find it redundant. Simply by having a thread for the pictures, that invites comments. Comments invite discussion. Discussion leads to differences of opinion.

By definition, you simply can't have a comments-enabled thread and expect people not to comment or talk. And you don't need two or more threads. Because it just leads to the exact same pictures being posted twice, and the exact same conversations inevitably happening, Twice. You can ask nicely, or even shout, but it won't change anything. People are going to want to comment on what they see. Period.

This "Nice thread/Not Nice thread" stuff is just clutter. It's the same pics and the same exact conversations. Zero point. My advice? Get thicker skin. "Just look at the pics, but don't talk here, talk in another thread" is ridiculous. It's proven not to work and it's clutter.

Wasn't Elias Koteas wearing a wig in the 1990 movie? I could be wrong, but I think his real hair might've been noticeably thinning at that point.

Anyway - I'm curious to hear whether Amell's directed to play this any differently than Arrow. But it's Platinum Dunes, so I've got a feeling the casting meetings went like, "So Casey Jones is a vigilante. Who can play a vigilante?" and they landed on Arrow.

Going by the pics and Bebop and Rocksteady mutagen and mutations will probably be the ongoing issue in this one. I like the idea that they may be making a different kind of mutagen to better fit their needs (could explain the purple/pink stuff April is running around with. This all really seems like it'll pull heavily from the cartoons overall. Also Casey looks a bit too clean cut in my opinion. I imagine his personality will be intact at least

There's precedent for it:

And it's clear the '87 cartoon is the only source material they care about. Though not in a loving, faithful way, either... These movies, like Transformers before them, are all about drawing in audiences based on a fond but vague familiarity. They're not trying to please fans on any level - they just want an audience with low demands/expectations who remember liking the franchise when they were kids. That's it. Pay a little lip-service to their nostalgia and then make the usual by-the-numbers Michael Bay CGI action/explosion-fest within that basic framework. Again and again.

It's a really cynical way to make a movie like this, but it's paid off for them.

I'm not a stickler for for actors looking exactly like the characters they play. I could care less if Megan Fox has red hair or if she wears yellow - it's not like those things are important to the character in fact the latter I prefer she didn't.

However it doesn't look like they are doing anything to make Steve Amell look like Casey. It's not like Casey needs longer hair but I would have assumed they'd try and do something then again given how bad the wigs are in the flashbacks of Arrow maybe it's for the best but it really looks like Steve Amell playing Steve Amell.

It might not be mutagen, it could be anything.

William Fichtner may not be Shredder, he could be playing anything.

Those bug things on the motion capture suits may not be eye line guides, they could be anything.

That script may not be real, it could be anything.

Obviously we can't definitively know for a fact but we know enough to make an informed decision. Again it's not a huge deal the mutagen is purple, while the iconic colour is green it has been depicted as different colours including purple but small things do add up.

I have a theory on what maybe going on.

Let's assume that April got her job back at Channel 6, And she's working on a story where she goes undercover, And pretends to be Baxter Stockman's lab assistant, She uncovers something bad, and steels the canister with the purple ooze.

She is then running through traffic, As foot soldiers are chasing after her, Casey Jones shows up and sees April being chased by foot soldiers, He attempts to rescue her, They both end up on an Alley and there's a dead end.

As the foot soldiers close in on them, Out of know where, The Turtles show up and knock down the foot soldiers, Then disappear.

The black ops dudes couldn't beat the Turtles in the first movie with guns. The Turtles are super strong and invulnerable/"bullet-proof." They were one hand punching black ops dudes into the air in the first movie.

While it's super duper special awesome that the ninjas finally look like Ninjas, it's completely pointless now and they've written themselves into a corner.

Don't underestimate their ability to completely ignore previous established plot points.

I totally expect the Turtles to be made far more vulnerable than they were in the first film. We're already seeing these type of changes in Shredder and The Foot.

Jesus Christ, my point is it doesn't matter what was on the cutting room floor in the first film, the Foot were shown to be gun carrying soldiers- not ninjas. This time around it looks like their army is being made up of something a bit more traditional in order to engage the turtles on a different level. Once again I point to a character like Nick's Shredder who uses his skills to be able to go one on one with physically superior opponents. To be fair there is a very big difference between judging a celebrity on their looks than judging how the celebrity is allowing themselves to be objectified.

Remember in the last movie where Liebesman made a big deal how Megan Fox wouldn't be sexualized as she had been in previous roles and how Megan herself she was past that as an actress and she's a mother now etc.

Now while the movie did have some of that with Mikey's "shell tightening" remark and Will Arnett ogling her backside and so on but to be fair it wasn't anywhere near the degree she's been used in this manner in the past but now she's in a catholic schoolgirl outfit.

Whatever minor goodwill they're gaining with Foot Ninjas that look like ninjas and vehicle that looks less like a clown car and some casting choices which don't scream "terrible" seems to be disappearing fast with these set photos. Improvements over the first? Nah it looks worse.

Gotta say, seeing Casey wearing the hockey mask... ugh. Too creepy of a mask, looks like a B-movie horror flick. I'd rather see a style like in IDW. But eh, nitpicking.

It actually looked like he had a bag with more equipment in his car trunk. Eyes could be playing tricks on me though. Either way I wouldn't be surprised if we see him really geared up later in the film during crunch time.

From a practical standpoint, Wouldn't Casey Jones have more mobility, If he didn't always carry the Golf Bag?

If you think about it, carrying the Golf Bag around while fighting, adds a bit of weight.

Besides a few pictures, this movie is starting to look really promising. I love Casey's new mask and the hockeystick possibly saying Eastman on it reminds me of that in the Nick show, and his Mirage84 license plate is cool as well.
The Turtle Truck looks incredible!
And that picture with a sai embedded in a sign near Casey? Looks like Raph and Casey might have a fight when they first meet.
I love the first movie but I admit it was dumb. There's just something about it I can't help liking.
