as I suspected ever since Vision Quest the turtles haven't used their Mystic weapons/outfits. Now they just appear in Mystic garb in the theme song. It just adds to my reasoning they were only created for Playmates to make a quick buck.

Holy hell another episode that I somehow missed. I am good at this, guys. *searches for an online stream*

I was actually really confused about the outfits as I only saw them in the op, and I thought that everyone's avatars and signatures containing the Vision Quest outfits was just some fanmade thing. Oh man...I'm gonna watch the ep and get back to you. Hold, please. lol

EDIT: I noticed I'm really optimistic when it comes to this series and I feel like I'm always taking sides with Nick. I'm about to do it again. I think they were special outfits used for a special time. Don't see the purpose in bringing them back. But if your point is the toys, then I got nothing except I MUST BUY THEM xP (Not really; I'm poor right now)

they wouldnt make whole new outfits 4 them in the show if they werent gonna use them several times at least

just making a toy version, i can see that as a possibility but its not just a toy, which used up $ in making 4 the show

Disagree. There's the Mazes and Mutants episode, and those outfits were never used again though there are toys of it.

I guess that the option is now there at least - there is little stopping them from using those costumes again if the situation calls for it

While I have my doubts, I find it odd it's used in the opening. Maybe if they ever go back to the farm house at some point they'll use it again.

They'll probably pop up one more time in this season.

Maybe they'll pop in like the savage Mikey again, but probably not.

oh, they're bound to be back at some point, probably when the turtles need to be at their most focussed (i.e., big-bad battle).

I'd question using some of it in a particularly risky fight though, depending on the situation and setting. The hoods possibly hindering some amount of peripheral vision (not to mention Donnie's mask paired with it) and the extra material for an enemy to catch hold of, esp if it the hood falls back. (But I'm prob trying to add too much logic to a cartoon, so... lol)

I'm sure they could come back if they wanted to. I'd love to see them wear their outfits again because those outfits are awesome.

It's not a matter of if, it's a matter when. There is no way that the mystic look was a one time thing. They'll find any way to use those outfits again. Just you wait.

If they bring them back for the finale or something, I'd love to see Splinter get his own cool outfit. :trazz: Heck, give April & Casey some new digs too.

I was hoping they'd transition to become their main outfits/gear. I mean what was the point for all of those new weapons and stuff... just to fight mirages?

No pun intended on the use of the word mirage

No, to sell toys.

No, to sell toys.

toys have been made before that have never been involved w/ something in a show

I think they will come back in some fashion and I'd love to see Splinter have some gear of his own too. That would be great.

If they don't come back I'll be disappointed, but I think I'll survive.

Wait a minute... I knew Donnie's mask was familiar... His mask! It resembles the masks that the Fire Nation soldiers wear in Avatar: The Last Airbender! :teek:

Chances are that they were a one time thing and will not be coming back. That's how it should be anyway. The Mystic Turtles only existed to serve that episode's storyline and, of course, to have four new turtle figures on toy shelves. Even if they did somehow come back it would probably be handled stupidly and awkwardly like the way they brought back "savage" Mikey in the "Battle for New York" special. That was just dumb. "Savage" Mikey should have just been a one time thing like the Mystic Turtles since "savage" Mikey only existed to serve that episode's story. Why did Mikey have to get back in costume to display his Dimension X smarts? Not only that, did anyone else find it completely blatant that they were trying to sell the toy by having the Turtles refer to him by his toy name? I can get the return of Turtflytle. That made sense in context to the episode.

Having Mikey put the Savage Mikey costume makes sense. Of all the Turtles who would be eager to put a costume back on, he seems most likely. I could easily see him wanting to put the Mystic guise back on out of all the others. Just like I could see him wanting to put the Turtlefly guise on again.

Savage Mikey worked though because they were back in Dimension X so he had to put it on again. If they weren't in Dimension X, then I could see why it would be a little unnecessary.

We still haven't see the return of the D&D outfits that we saw in season 2.

I think those were a one off thing because they were LARPing in that ep. But the Mystic Outfits could definitely come back.
