Random period fact I read the other day: other than various fellow primates, the only other animals known to have true periods the way humans do are some types of bats (such as the short-tailed fruit bat) and the elephant shrew. Could it be anymore random. (Others supposedly reabsorb it instead... been complaining for years wondering why we couldn't evolve that way.)


Now I feel bad for bats... fruit bats with their little fruit bat menstrual cramps. They're not rabid, they're just PMSing.

Actually, Cure, none of that is him. As far as I can tell, he closed his accounts & someone then later used the same URL (boycartoonist). The dude who has all those sites now is named Tyler Boss, has dark hair & glasses, he's not DB. Dirtyblonde has really bright blonde hair, a completely different face, & is named Ryan S (dunno if he'd want his full last name posted or not). It's very convoluted.

This thread has me worried, as I've dealt with my share of suicidal folks & I've had similar thoughts myself in the past. My only experience with this guy was in the "After Dark" group on here, but still. Hope he's still around. And I also hope he isn't intentionally refraining from posting so that he can keep people worried about him...because I've had people pull that on me before. Not cool at all, if so. I guess all we can do at this point is send him emails/PM's and hope that he hasn't acted on his words.

I'm well aware that he has logged in again after making this thread. But he has been absent for quite some time now(since last year's October) and Powder said that he never answered his e-mails. So I decided to bump this thread to make sure OP was OK.

Now, why do I, a guy who probably has never even talked to Dirty Blond once, want to know if he's alright? Well, for one thing, a thread like this is quite unsettling, and I can't just ignore it and think of him as "just another person on the internet". There's always real people behind their username. And second, considering Dirty Blond is a grown man and not a teenager, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assume this thread was a real cry for help and not a very untactful way of making a joke thread. Who in their right mind would make a joke thread like this? I know this is the internet, but come on now. And even if this turns out to be a joke(a very stupid and childish one if it is), I'm willing to bet it's not uncommon for people who commit suicide or that plan on doing it to threaten it or imply they might do it as, you know, a call for help. And also, it's better to make sure everything is OK than waiting for something bad to happen, don't you think? Kinda like bomb threats. It's best not to take a risk, even if it sounded like a joke instead of a legit threat. We have nothing to lose in asking if he's OK.

It'd be one thing if it took him a couple of weeks or more without replying to an e-mail, but 5/6 months without a single reply? That's pretty fishy, even if you're not the type of person who replies to e-mails quickly or if the e-mail you give to online contacts is not your main one. And considering Powder has his e-mail, I'm guessing they were close to a certain point and chatted fairly often. And I also suppose that powder has exchanged e-mails with him before this thread was made and Dirty Blond didn't take a long time to reply to each e-mail.
