View Full Version : What would a rated R PD tmnt movie look like?

Just give me your ideas of what the movie would be like if they just went rated r and could do anything they want.

Well that will be a 15 in the UK so it be really dark and gritty, the turtles will be swearing and killing people so lots of blood too.

Or if they hadn't cut out all the lift scene then it would of been R rated because Leo was twerking or something so it was cut out.

Bloody, bloody swords... They'd have never been taken hostage in the first place, most of the Foot would be laying dead in the lair.

Oh, and when the three of them were captive in those cells, if Leo could have gotten out of there I think he'd have totally skinned Sacks alive, rolled him in salt, set him on fire, and thrown him in front of a train. *insert evil grin smiley*

Vernon would have died.

New take if it's R rating:

Shredder decapitated Tang Shen's head.

Splinter raising the turtles for revenge - lots of killing hobos on the street. The boys would bring back bloodied hearts (from their victims)to their father and he would eat them raw.

Final battle with the Shredder: Leo dug deep his sword into Saki's chest, twisting it left and right with a mad gleam in his eyes. Raph punctured Saki's stomach by stabbing his sais, blood dripping to the floor. Mikey bashed Saki's skull with his nunchucks until it became like a pulp. Donnie decapitated Saki's head like he did to their mother.

I'm loving it already.

They wut now? o.O

Well that would certainly be a different take on them, diverging from who they are and needing the R rating.

Well is the question really what would an R rated TMNT movie look like or as your title suggests what would an R rated Platinum Dunes movie look like?

That's a different question. I'm pretty sure an R rated TMNT movie from Platinum Dunes would be an edgier version of the movie we got.

ie: More overt sexual humour, cursing, more guns, Foot Soldiers would be be shown to be dead, Vern and April's killing blow to Sachs and Shredder would be bloodier etc.

It wouldn't be like the first issue of the comics because I doubt anyone at Platinum Dunes would be any more amenable to doing more than skimming through it than they were last year regardless of the age range they aimed for. It's not like the movie we got was made for kids despite being retroactively labelled as such.

Ideally? Exactly like Marvel's Daredevil.

The tone works perfectly too. Raph being the dark vigilante like ninja Murdock, Leo being the leader like lawyer Murdock, Donnie being the brains, Mikey being the heroic comic relief like Foggy, April hanging out with the heroes like Karen Page, Splinter as the wise ninja mentor like Stick(just with a more permanent stay on the show) Shredder being an incredibly dangerous business mogul/leader of criminal organization like Kingpin.

It fits perfectly as an adult take on the Turtles while still being capable of staying true to their more fun roots like in the first movie.

Makes me f*cking lament the ******** we're getting from Bay even more. The Turtles are capable of so much and we're stuck with that in live action.

They would've used Megan Fox a tad bit differently if this is rated R

Platinum Dunes?

more intrusive sexual jokes from Mikey wanting to do April, with or without her consent. Seriously, PD Mikey would be even more terrifying in a R movie...

probably more juvenile, lewd and racist humor, ala what we've seen from Bayformers.

One example is folks feeling like Skids and Mudflap are a parody (or mockery) of black people. I've also heard elsewhere that they are actually meant by the writers to be parodies of the 'wigger' culture, but I think it's up to an individual person to decide, really.

And then bury them in the tainted sacred grounds of the hobo cemetery and they'll return as zombie minions the Turtles will use against the forces of evil. While also being hypocritically evil and eating the rest of the hearts of NYC. Apparently.

An R-rated Platinum Dunes TMNT movie would be about as bad as the PG13-rated PD TMNT movie.

Now an R-rated TMNT movie NOT produced by PD... THAT would be incredible.

For the first time EVER, the Turtles would be drawing blood with their weapons on screen.

The easiest examples would be Skids and Mudflap, but there's also human characters and their portrayal like Whitman the hacker in the first movie and the Indian customer support guy.

Considering how much the plastron on the turtles looked like sculpted muscles, didn't we get a whole lot of man turtle boobs in the first movie?

They where so not plastrons to the point they almost had moob jiggle-physics.

There prob should have been some 'moob jiggle-physics,' considering Raph was able dislodge those bullets from his chest. Plastron hybridized with tire rubber perhaps?

Which begs the next question... given the number of dudes (both human and non-human) drooling over Fox O'Neil, who would the sex scene involve? Would an R-rating permit human-mutant relations?

IndigoErth

If they treated them like any other people (albeit special green people) I suppose they could get away with the usual style of R love scenes. (Rough cut mocap footage might be amusing. lol)

If a sort like Bay would inevitability try to take it there, would be an interesting social experiment... what percent of people flip the hell out over it, what percent are able to deal... and what percent are suddenly perfectly fine with it the moment Fox's boobs are on screen. :tlol:

Megan Fox doesn't do anything for me. And if there's a franchise where I don't want to see sex and nudity is the Turtles. The last thing I want to see in something related to the TMNT are sex scenes.

My facebook feed would blow up with "childhood ruined" memes.

And well, Splinter was once human in the FW series. And there was an episode where he kinda complimented April on her looks "you make this old rat feel young again" or something like that. So it wouldn't have been odd him making a pass at her in the 87 toon.

And then all the Turtles got boners and decided to stalk April to the costume party where she got mixed up with Princess Mallory. I remember, that was one of my favorites.

I imagine in the "deleted scenes" of that episode, there was a scene where all four of them brought both April and Mallory back to the lair for a little "tag team match". At least that's what me and my buddies always assumed. :tgrin:

Ye the episode was fine, not so well animated though. But the turtles sure had creepy looks on their faces, man. I'm surprised April didn't feel uncomfortable. In real life, making a face like the Turtles did at April probably would get you accused of sexual harassment.

I like to tell myself at night that is not true At least it's not on the levels of creepy it was in season 1 of Nick. Or the obsessiveness in Season 2.

Despite my complaining still more of a personality than any of the PD Turtles.

Why baby jesus?! Why does Michael Bay have to be involved with this franchise and ruin it in live action in every conceivable way?!

Watching Daredevil just made me long for competent, creative, talented people who actually care working on a Netflix TMNT series.

Instead we got hacks like Michael Bay and Michael Bay jr.

Just picture that hallway scene with Daredevil and the Russians, but replace DD with Raphael and the Russians with purple dragons and up the martial arts a bit. How brutal Raph could be.

And then the part in the garage where DD cuts off the power? Classic ninja stuff.

But instead we get fart jokes and guys in air soft masks and guns and a big robot.

Of all the comic book movie franchises out there now, TMNT is the lowest of the low. And yet it does not have to be, because TMNT had way more fans and visibility than Guardians of the Galaxy... but therein is part of the problem, I suppose. The more public perception you have, the more preconceived prejudices you also have to endure.

Dammit.

IDK Trick,
There's a lot they got right with DD, but many episodes were still somehow cheesey. Lot's of over the top dialogue and acting. Foggy was annoying as all hell.

It's 1000 times closer to what a TMNT live action series should be, but it was missing something. Far to many Kevin Smith styled lines of exposition and verbal diarrhea. Maybe that's how DD is written, but it's so juvenile, pulled me out of the story far to often.

I'm only on episode 4. Hope it gets better.

EDIT: Just watched 4, and halfway through 5.
I will say that Rosario Dawson is killing it. She's nailing every scene she's in. I haven't watched a performance from her this impressive since Kids.
