This is not really a big deal, but I was wondering if other people notice that his kimono changes color in episodes. Sometimes it's red, sometimes it's purple, and other times it's pinkish. I think it even changes color in the same episode.
I know the show has mistakes, but have you guys notice the color change in the outfit?

Different animation studios used different coloring. Its supposed to be purple or dark red.

When was it ever purple? This is like that stupid dress that social media was arguing over the color. "Our company doesn't make the kimono in purple."

It changes based on the lighting of their environment, not just due to a lack of consistency. But it's clearly supposed to be Magenta, over all.

Heh, I frequently vary the colors on the kimono whenever I draw Splinter in fan art:

And Powder's interpretation of the kimono as light purple with white trim might just be my favorite look for Splinter of them all:

Pretty sure I borrowed that color scheme off of some random 90's merch. Valentines, or something. If/when I find the reference, I'll send it to you. :trazz:

Well ye, different shades based on lighting and different animation studios.
It's always been purpleish to me.

I like the magenta theory. Let's go with that. Red(ish) makes more sense, IMHO.

It's a sharp look, no? :trazz: I also liked the (coloring?) book that gave Splinter a white headband.

Hah! I had completely forgotten that as well!
Ironic, since I used that very image as a reference for one of my own drawings within the last year.
EDIT: And... is that the actual scan I made?

I'm a huge fan of those books that adapted the first season episodes (minus Hot Rodding Teenagers). Just look at these pages from "Mutant Madness" digitally cleaned up by Powder!

I had one that had little "profile" pages on each Turtle. For either Raph or Donnie, I forget which, but for "favorite saying", it said, "I'm not gonna pay more for this muffler!" Nobody looking at it today would even get that joke! I don't think Midas was even using that slogan anymore by then!
The goofy sh*t you remember.

Anyone remember those sticker books similar to these coloring books? They would give you two-pages of stickers, and you would peel them off and then place the on the various pages to make the correct scenes? I remember having TMNT, Batman and Power Rangers versions of those books.

Diamond was the company that was prevalent with licensed sticker book releases. They did one TMNT book that featured a couple of pages like that. It was sold as a 3D "silde-o-scope" special sticker book.
