Wow that mask looks dumb. They're trying to equate the overkill with Shredder, so when Casey and April take on the Shredder and Bebop and Rocksteady, it's on the same level. They'll probably put Snakeweed, Squirrelnoids and all those other wonky characters in there too.

Yes, but I actually quite like Josh Peck's portrayal. Only thing I DON'T like is when he constantly says his own name. That gets annoying, but otherwise, better than we'll get in this movie considering they probably told Amell to "play it like a more sarcastic Green Arrow."

I don't like Josh Peck's Casey all that much. Though that mostly can be contributed to the fact that I don't like the idea of a young Casey. That and he quotes Koteas' Casey y too often, and just doesn't sell it. Though to his credit, I'm sure it's not his fault and there are times I do enjoy him, but I'll never really like the idea of younger Casey. I can deal with younger April, but I'm not really a fan of her in general in any medium, and I never really supported April/Casey in any iteration, though the first movie had the most bearable version of that romance.

Yeah man, Reverse-Flash is hands down the greatest villain on that show.

And Grodd looks absolutely amazing for a CGI gorilla on a TV show. But then again it shouldn't be a surprise considering the Flash has some amazing VFX.

I like Gotham more or less for what it is, but oh my god I would have killed for a Gotham Central tv show. Just straight up adapt Gotham Central.

It only uses Batman sparingly so you could still have him in movies, it uses villains that the movies probably won't ever get around to using(save for the Joker which you could still use since he doesn't show up but for a little while).

And you could still have your gritty cop drama show that appeals to a wide audience.

But hey, at least we have Daredevil.

off topic: I have watched all of daredevil and liked it..it was interesting and funny, exciting..not too corny in my book...(for a superhero show)...but the walking dead still stands out as one of the best comic adaptations in my oppinion...but this whole question depends of course on what value do you place highest...does a show for you need to adapt as much material from the actual source as possible to win?or does it need to catch the right tone and nail the characters?...or does it have to stick close to the comics to be regarded as good in your eyes?...

I enjoyed Daredevil, it was incredibly true to its source, well at least Frank Miller's Daredevil as the source. Flash is a more comic booky, and in general an all around more run program. For its budget it TV certainly takes on alot, it may not be movie caliber, but I can forgive that because of the performances. Flash is definitely superior to Arrow and arguably a better comic book show than Daredevil, but that's not the show's fault, but the character. Flash just feels feels more like a comicbook with its bright colors and super powered rogues.

The short hair doesn't bother me. His hair wasn't long in the 80s cartoon or the Nick cartoon, so it's not exactly important. They can always stick a wig on him if they have to.

Maybe because he's a beloved, iconic, & important character, who is having his iconic, simple, & hard to f*ck up design completely thrown aside in favor of this Johnny Everyman attire & military hair cut. Makes perfect sense to me.

It's not that Casey doesn't have long hair. It's that without the long hair, Casey looks EXACTLY like Oliver Queen.

That's what my issue is as well. There is nothing to separate the characters of what we've seen. Amell have the exact same hair and beard as he have in Arrow. Casey could just as well be Oliver Queen taking vacation in NY, and ends up in a drama with bipedal turtles and some ninjas that isn't from the league of assassins. :lol:

Maybe because he's a beloved, iconic, & important character, who is having his iconic, simple, & hard to f*ck up design completely thrown aside in favor of this Johnny Everyman attire & military hair cut. Makes perfect sense to me.

Of course you like it, you'd watch a sun-baked turd on the sidewalk if it had a TMNT logo stuck on it.

The hair issue imo... I don't really feel he has to have it based on history or anything like that, but just going by that pic it would just be a plus for the allover look if he did. The whole 'ensemble' just feels like it needs something more. Be it the hair, or a bag or something thrown across his back. Feels a little basic/incomplete.

This kind of response is BS & you know it. Nick's Casey Jones is completely different than anything that came before & yet he gets tons of praise. We like his look despite it being a design overhaul. A dislike for some guy who... well, looks like an actor with a Hockey Mask, rather than Casey Jones, has nothing to do with nostalgia.

Ok...well as someone who keeps their head basically shaved, it's for the reason of not wanting to deal with the annoyance of hair...having no hair is easier than having hair. So either shaved, or just being a bum and letting the hair grow are basically the same things. He's not a skin head having to constantly shave his head down.

I honestly just feel like, if the mask need be SO large, his hair should be long so it doesn't look so off-balance. I mean, practically, that thing'd be sliding all over. It's noticeably large. Design isn't bad, and I know they'll shoot it in a way to try and offset the size, but if they weren't going to tone it down a bit, they may as well have had him with long-hair. Part of why I have long hair is because I have a long neck and I try and offset that (and it makes me look taller). There's actually a logic that goes into these hair decisions. :lol:

Clothes are plain but Casey always wears different stuff anyways. I agree it's kind of a lazy design but it could also have been needlessly overdone like everything they did last movie. I'd make the mask smaller and/or give him long hair to balance it out, otherwise eh. S'fine I guess.

I do understand where they are coming from, they got used to seeing him play Arrow so much because he hasn't been in any other major rolls in any other shows, since he started Arrow. He's been doing Arrow for 4 seasons and the 3rd season hasn't finished yet and then 4th season will start later. So if they see him in a different show or movie, it's going to feel strange to them.

If he wasn't in TMNT 2 but got a role in a different movie, they will say the same thing.

I have the same problem with wrestlers in movies because i'm so used to seeing them wrestle in the ring but when they end up in a movie, it just feels wierd to me and I can't get into into the movie.

I'm used to seeing The Rock in movies now because he wrestles like once every couple of years and funny enough, I actually find it strange seeing him wrestle.

I get that the classic Casey mask is really outdated and you won't find anymore and it probably shouldn't go in any modern day new incarnation of the TMNT, but is this new one even an actual hockey mask you can buy in stores? Because it seems like the design team just saw the classic 1980s Casey mask and -- like the Turtles themselves, and Shredder in the last "film" -- decided to redesign it to make it bigger and "badder ass."

Why put film in inverted commas? It is a film, or a movie :P and I believe the word you're looking for is "badass".

The mask is the least of my worries. I actually think it looks pretty good. More of the type of masks goalies wear nowadays. I kind of wish it was closed on top. Would make more sense and provide better protection.
