I don't know how often people noticed this, but in that episode Krang is animated really well. Maybe it's because it's one of the pilot episodes, but compared to the rest of the show, the animators seemed to draw tonnes more detail on him than usual in that episode, which is nice. Turtles on the other hand, were animated rather poorly there with occasional mismatched sound track and mouth movements. Looks like the animators wanted to make the villains look really good in those first few episodes.

yea shredder seemed so hard core evil, and krand was just plain radiating with power, enough to make you cower.

Ditto... Shredder seemed like a serious enemy of pure evil, but then his character goes down hill from there. Not just how he acted, but, like you said, he was drawn much much better. Ditto for Krang. I think the entire first season was done like that, and then after that they started pumping them out rather than spending time making each one look really nice. There is a huge difference in styles between the first season and the rest of the show. Turtle Tracks is the best example... in the part where they save April, all four turtles look much different - and better IMO - than in any other season of the show.

Yeah, this is a fact that has been discussed again and again. But some people liked the more childish/goofier feel the show had after the pilot season better.

What I want to know about all this is how in the world did Shredder and Krang meet up? They never really explained it. I mean, it's not every day that you see a modern ninja warlord cooperating with an evil alien brain creature from another dimension. Kinda have to wonder how they made first contact with each other. Was it through the Personal Ads section of the New York Times?

 Well, it was obvious that Krang was using Shredder, at least at the beginning of the show, so chances are, Krang found Shredder somehow and went from there.

I think they were using eachother. I like how in the Archie comics they were planning to stab eachother in the back.

Krang was banished to earth, shredder had the know how on the "new land" and krang had the tech. and force. the pair seemed to benifit from eachother.

What I want to know about all this is how in the world did Shredder and Krang meet up?
I always imagined Shredder walking along when suddenly a dimensional portal opens right above him and Krang lands right on his face. There's a lot of screaming, "Get it off! GET IT OFF!!" and running around.

Shredder finally gets free and goes to throw Krang into the garbage. But Krang convinces Shredder to spare him so they can join forces to take over the world.

And the rest is history.

I think you are right about this actually. Well, it's either this or Krang looked up Shredder's number up in a phone book.

What? Are you serious?! You're telling me that what I have believed for so long was . . . dare I say it . . . wrong?!?!

:o

And all these years, I thought Krang just showed up on Shredder's doorstep one day, holding up a sign that said WILL WORK FOR FOOD.

"Well, what is it?"
"Ah, Saki, my old friend."
