Gary Anthony Williams has joined the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, where he’ll star as one of the franchise’s longstanding villains, ‘BeBop’. A mutated pig almost always paired off with a fellow mutant, ‘Rocksteady’, Bebop is a henchmen of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle arch villain Shredder (and thus is a quasi-member of the Foot ninja clan.) In TMNT 2, he’ll start off as a punk street thug member of a ragtag gang of misfits who acts as if he’s intellectually superior, but isn’t.

Williams joins Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry and Brian Tee in the Paramount sequel directed by David Green from a script by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing. The film is currently filming, and is set for release June 3, 2016. Williams has also appeared in The Internship, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and The Factory. He’s repped by APA, Jordan Tilzer at Roar, and Ginsburg Daniels LLP.

It still bothers me HOW Megan got this role...she said in an interview that she told the producers that they may find a better actress, but they wont find a bigger fan. She basically admitted others could do the role better ... and what doea being a fan have to do with it ... doesnt mean youre the best qualified for the job. Heck, I'm a longitme fan, can i be in it?

I know Gary Anthony Williams mainly from Boston Legal where he played a pretty good character. I've also seen him in other things like Who's Line Is It Anyway? where he was pretty funny so it's neat to actually know who's playing Bebop in the first live action appearance of him.

I wouldn't be surprised however if that role, along with Rocksteady, relies heavily on a younger and/or more agile stunt guy for much of the mocap if we'd mostly be seeing these character when they're fighting the Turtles.

Hm...I used to watch Malcolm in the Middle back in the day, but I oddly don't remember this guy. From the description, it sounds like they plan on making him somewhat incompetent - similar to the OT version; and that's likely what a lot of people want, but I'm hoping that ends up not being the case... I'd like a Bebop & Rocksteady who are actually threats. It'd be kind of a letdown if they got badass designs but weren't challenging to take down.

I've seen some pretty cool variants on the purple punk hair on DeviantArt... dreadlocks, different styles of mohawks... IDW's purple sideburns.

If it's a design they were likely going with had they used it for the first film, then why not, makes as much sense to go with that, and gotten work on the models started right away, than spend more time going back to the drawing board. If they scrap it entirely because we've seen it...lame.

I do believe I see a faint hint of a dusty dark purple in the mohawk however, esp when you compare to the color of the ponytail end. ;) (Not that that would have been guaranteed to be that way in the actual model.)
