I don't just mean that to get rid of Megan Fox but aside from being their first human connection I don't think April is all that important to the TMNT story. Then again I'm kinda guessing they'd have another human character take the lead.

not to be that guy...but this series already is April's story; everything is told from her point of view.

They probably should have done that instead, since she's kind of unfairly too much of the focus in the Turtles' films and not fair to them. (Well, the second to still be determined, but it's looking like she still plays a large part in this...)

Somehow I have a feeling April's life would be pretty boring without the Turtles in it. Someone might have to be a pretty dedicated Fox fan to want to watch that.

As much as I like Megan Fox, the absolutely last thing we need is yet 'nuddah' whip-smart Warrior Princess (TM) who battles Alien Robot Zombies From The Abyss Of Doom while also being a successful FBI agent SingleMom (C) to 3 well-adjusted kids, being worshipped simultaneously by 2 or more soap stud hunky multi-gabazillionaires, despite the fact that all she does is spew bad attitude at them 24/7.
We have plenty more than enough such shows already.

I sincerely felt that Megan Fox's character portrayal of April O'Neil just wasn't that strong enough to make me think that she'll do any better in a solo story movie. Just keep her with the Turtles and let them both share ample amounts between them. That can work more as a win = win movie idea for me.

And since this is an April thread... Seems it - or more accurately, "don't write what you don't know" - also applies to female characters specifically. Hallow shell female characters? Know little about women.

Wasn't the movie already kind of an April movie?
What would April O'Neil the movie even be based on? That one time she discovered that she was a magic drawing or Nickelodeon's revision of her as an alien psychic? Pretty much anything remerkable done with April has been met with hostility, people seem to prefer her when the remarkable things happen around as opposed to it happening to her.
Even if it was a good idea, would you really want Platinum Dunes to make it?


Maybe in ten years or so when there is source material to work from that isn't boring or unpopular, and when another production company has the rights to make TMNT movies.
