Background Recognition

I got this hand-painted background from the Fred Wolf toon a few weeks ago & try as I might I can't figure out what episode it's from. The only given is that it couldn't have been past season 7 as the sky isn't red.

It came with two cel layers, one of Donnie from the later seasons (meaning it isn't a match for the background) & another of a taxi, which could be a match, but I'm not sure. I'll post it as well, if it can jog anyone's memory.

Any help would be much appreciated! Tonemaster21 was able to tell me what episodes my other backgrounds came from but he seems to be MIA right now.

Isn't it from "Beyond the Donatello Nebula" from Season 4? The cab looks like what that green lizard alien's spaceship was.

The nighttime at the park background makes me think of the finale scene to Planet of the Turtleoids, just off the top of my head.

Hooray! I do love that episode, probably even moreso when it proved elusive as Lionsgate skipped its DVD release for years!

That particular scene always did stick out to me. So cool to see Chrome Dome and that mini-Technodrome Rover. Shredder certainly put April in a strange (and generally ineffective) restraining device though.

Indeed. That organic hand-painted quality of traditional animation backgrounds is an aesthetic that is mostly lost on the slicker, streamlined cartoons of today. Don't get me wrong, many cartoons today boast a far greater consistency of character models and fluidity of animation frames. Animation mistakes so common in old shows are mostly a thing of a past.

But most of today's cartoon simply resonate less with me emotionally, and I think the loss of the traditional background actually has a lot to do with it for me personally. Even in my own TMNT fan art, I give great attention to the background mood and details, though I'm coloring digitally, of course.

No no no. Cartoons made today are far superior. What's all this FW cartoon had good 80s/early 90s animation nonsense? :lol: Don't worry I'm being sarcastic.
