TMNT tattoo!! but which scene??

hey guys!! so im planning to get a few tattoos done on my arm, and I want to go with the FIRST TMNT MOVIE, but idk what scenes to pick. any suggestions?? let me know :tgrin:

With all due respect, if you can't think of anything right off the bat that speaks to you emotionally, it's probably not a great idea. Tattoos are forever, & they should be a product of your own love for whatever it's based on, not someone else's suggestion. That's just my take, though...

I know, I have a **** load of tattoos, but I wanted to hear ideas about REALLY COOL SCENCES from fans, Im not stupid enough not to have some in mind, but it never hurts to brain storm and hear opinions of others.

To kinda echo what Powder said - take some time and think about what scenes and/or parts of that movie really stick with you emotionally or inspire you or have a positive impact on you. See what comes to you, and if you need some input, share your thoughts and see what suggestions you get based on that. I've got a few comic-reference tattoos that have a lot of personal meaning to me, and I love them as much as the day I got them.

Once you do think of one, either draw it or print it out. Tape that picture to a mirror, or put it somewhere where you'll have to look at it every day. After that, wait a minimum of six months, and if (after that amount of time) you still love it just as much as you did on day one, then you most likely won't regret getting a tattoo of it.

As for which scene to pick...just watch the movie several times and I'm sure you'll figure it out. This is about what YOU prefer, not others.

^ I had a friend who did that same thing, and whereas that's a good idea, it may not hold a few years from now. So...I dunno. You want a tattoo cool! Go for it! I would get: "Dudes and dudettes, major league buttkicking is back in towwwwn!" Not really but I love that line. I laugh every time xD

guys, thanks for all the comment.But this will NOT BE MY FIRST TATTOO. so I know how the process of picking a tattoo works. all im saying is suggestions on which scene, and even though I know its something that I WILL LIKE, the thing is I love the entire movie, so picking a specific scene is hard when you like all of them. all im doing is asking for suggestive scenes.

I think it also depends on which style you're going to have the tattoo done in, and whether you're planning on full color or black and grey. You said you're getting it on your arm; were you planning a sleeve or half-sleeve? How do you want it put together - are you planning on having it made up of individual "image panels/movie frames", so to speak?

Take some time to have a look at pictures of some of the TMNT tattoos already out there - you'll see that styles can vary quite a bit and it will give you a better idea of what you do and don't want. Also think about how the style will look with the tattoos you already have.

I'd suggest browsing Google images and tattoo websites for comic book-themed tattoos in general; you may find that what you originally had in mind changes as you do more research in terms of both design and location. You might find something you like but realize that it'll end up working better as a back piece or a chest piece. Generally the smaller a tattoo is, the more difficult it is to put lots of detail in (which you probably know as you said you already have other tattoos) - you may decide that one big piece incorporating numerous characters will work better than a half sleeve made up of 6 or 8 small "movie frames".

I'd also recommend referencing TMNT comic books, and looking at art inspired by the 1990 film, poster designs etc.

IMO, there's a lot to be said for collaborating with a good tattoo artist in your area. Create a scrapbook full of ideas and make notes of what you do and don't like. Approach an artist who has a good portfolio, come to them with some idea of what you want and work with them to create a custom design.

best response!! thanks man. yea, I wanted to have a collaboration of scenes, EXACTLY LIKE THAT POSTER! I want the fire scene, the scene where mike and don are waiting for the pizza, the scene of shredder, and either the one where raph is getting jumpe by the clan or something else. but awesome feedback!

Hey, I really like that! Images of the four movie Turtles and having them in a kinda comic-panel design as a nod to their origins?
