View Full Version : How Red Sky could have been improved.

I've always liked the Red Sky Season but I knew that there were some inconsistencies and things that could have been improved. I think these things would have made it better. I actually didn't mind Lord Dregg being the main villain. Granted Shredder and Krang weren't totally defeated but still. At the end of season 8 when the Technodrome fell into the pit with the giant plant, am I the only ones who thought they died there? I mean they were with a vicious plant with no way out and then Lord Dregg takes over so I always assumed Krang and Shredder bit the dust there.
1. Show more of Casey Jones. Show Usagi, Mondo Gecko and the Punk Frogs again.
2. Show more of the old villains like Leatherhead, Slash, Tempestra, Chrome Drome, Baxter Stockman ect. Rat King at least showed up but only for one episode.
3. Give more screen time for the one shot villains. There's quite a few of those. Beserko, Doomquest, Megavolt, Chronos ect, were all villains that appeared in one episode and I feel they should have appeared in more than episode and they were decent villains at that.
4. Change the design a little on the Turtles, as their masks always make them look angry even when they are smiling. xD
5. Have Irma, Burne and Vernon show up in more episodes.
6. Bring Back Bebop and Rocksteady. They are always with Shredder and Krang and I always wondered why they weren't seen in season 10. Also where was General Tragg and the Rock Soldiers or even the Foot Soldiers?
A weird thing I noticed is how come in the Power of 3 Trilogy, Carter needs the other 4 tmnt to give the present tmnt a life transfusion, when Shredder was able to give a life transfusion to Krang and they are both entirely different species. That would have been a good opportunity to bring back Casey Jones, Usagi and Mondo Gecko, or could have brought the Punk Frogs back to give the TMNT a life transfusion.
1) Fights on par with Season 1
2) Human Foot Soldiers
3) Mike gets nunchucks back
4) Bring back Mona Lisa, et al.
5) New villains and allies from elsewhere in TMNT lore.

I agree about the life energy transfusions, the punk frogs would have been perfect, it was totally unnecessary to time travel.
I would have liked to see explanations for multiple major events and changes like how and why did April leave Channel 6 and become a freelance reporter? Did she get fired or did Channel 6 shut down?
In The Wrath of The Rat King, the Technodrome was in a black hole but in its next episode it's somewhere else and there was no explanation of how it got free from the black hole.
How did Krang have Gargon abducted from Dimension X when he didn't have access to Dimension X while living at the Hall of Science?

It would have been nice to see the Punk Frogs again as there are four of them so it'd be perfect, but I would have liked to see Usagi or Mondo. Casey appeared once but really should have appeared more often.
I assume that she left channel 6. Irma is the only one she got along with and probably got sick of Burne and Vernon bad mouthing the turtles. With Gargon I'm not sure but instead of him being a native of Dimension X, I feel it'd make more sense if Krang kidnapped a regular human and mutated him instead. It's strange because Krang even said that not even Beserko's equipment would free the Technodrome from a blackhole so I don't know how he got it out.
I wonder how they escaped that plant monster. With them gone in season 9 I always assumed Shredder and Krang were killed by the plant monster due to their absense. Don't know what they did with Bebop and Rocksteady.
Also the last time we saw Krang's android body was in season 7 yet he's only in his bubble walker for the Red Sky season. I figured maybe he couldn't use his android body because it was kind of damaged by Irma and since the Technodrome was gone he couldn't repair it. But Beserko had a lot of equipment so I figured he probably could have repaired it. In the last episode Krang's android body is in the Technodrome when the last time we saw it, it was on Earth, unless Krang had a spare body laying around and if he did, why didn't he use it immediatly as soon as he obtained the Technodrome in the Red Sky Season? So many unanswered questions. How did Carter know that much about time travel anyway. How did he know Landor and Merrick anyway?

Season 8 could have been longer. Also, Shredder could've been more of a threat in that season. I was expecting him to cause more trouble after Get Shredder, but he spent most of season 8 in the Hall of Science.
When I first saw season eight in 1995, the season finale episode Turtle Trek wasn't shown in Ireland and was replaced with a repeat of Enter: Krakus. The cartoon was then repeated from the beginning and I assumed that it ended with that episode.
I finally saw seasons nine and ten along with Turtle Trek in 1998. It was a surprise seeing new episodes of the show a few years later. Oddly enough, nine was placed between seven and eight, so I didn't know why Dregg had replaced Shredder and Krang, as I hadn't seen Turtle Trek at that time. I thought Dregg was a decent villain, though, so I wasn't bothered.
When I first saw the ending of Turtle Trek, I thought Shredder had the Technodrome again, as it didn't seem that badly damaged. I think Dregg could've been introduced better in 9, as Shredder and Krang weren't written out of the series well, in my opinion.
There could've been a fighting tournament for a few episodes. Maybe a gang war could have happened between Big Louie and other gangsters after Shredder was banished to Dimension X?
Allies from season 8 and older seasons could have helped the Turtles in seasons nine and ten. It was sad that they seemed to be alone against the world in those seasons (aside from April, Splinter and Carter).
I assumed that General Tragg and the Rock Soldiers were still somewhere in Dimension X in season 10. They just weren't seen. I think the Foot Soldiers weren't used because the technology used to create them might have been destroyed along with the Technodrome in Turtle Trek.

Carter learned about Landor and Merrick back in Carter The Enforcer. He was asking who are Landor and Merrick and Leonardo said the turtles will explain on the way.
As for the plant monster, I assume the monster threw the Technodrome out of the pit at some point since it was on a hill on the surface in Divide And Conquer.

Oh I need to see that episode. We did at least see one Foot Soldier in the episode a Turtle in Time where one from the past was trying to blast Merrick and Landor and the Turtles. There are theories saying that Shredder and Krang got the Technodrome out of that pit, but because of how badly damaged it was and due to lack of tools and resources, they couldn't use it anymore and ended up abandoning it. You'd think General Tragg would have been around with Krang as well as Bebop and Rocksteady during Season 10 so I don't know why Lord Dregg didn't bring those back to Earth as they, especially Bebop and Rocksteady always hang around Krang and Shredder.
I guess they lacked resources to where they couldn't build anymore Foot Soldiers and that's why you don't really see them when Krang and Shredder get the Technodrome running again. I noticed that the Techno Gang and Batmen are basically replacements for the Foot Soldiers and Rock Soldiers. The Techno Gang are more like the Rock Soldiers and HiTech would be like General Tragg while the Batmen are nearly silent and unintelligent like the Foot Soldiers.
I always wondered how powerful Dregg would have been if he not only had that Morpho Genesis Exoskeleton suit where he absorbed those 5 aliens, but also absorbed the mental and physical abilities of the tmnt, Krang and Shredder like he tried in the Power of Three trilogy. He might give Ch'rell a run for his money, maybe even with just the suit. xD
I always wished they explained why the sky was red. When I first saw it after seeing season 7. I thought Krang and Shredder took over and the TMNT were in some post apocalyptic world kind of like the episode Shredderville.

Agreed on all counts. Just keep season 8's direction while incorporating the main reoccurring characters from seasons past. Allow Beserko to be fleshed out. Carter and his inconsistent characterization and Dregg not thrown in our faces. The best season 9 episode had Dregg squeezed into one scene at the very end and it was not necessary which shows the fact he is unnecessary for the Red Sky direction.

The only thing I really would've liked to have seen was more. I would've preferred that the red sky seasons had been 13 episodes instead of 8. And I wouldn't have minded if the entire series had been done in the red sky style.

I never really thought Dregg was shoved in our faces. Shredder and Krang were basically banished to Dimension X and had little to no chance to come back. They never did until Dregg brought them back. Dregg I feel was a great villain. He did what the others didn't really try to do. He attempted to pretend to be a good guy and it worked for almost a whole season. He could destroy the Turtles with little resistance from the public and made the Turtles looked bad so it was perfect for him.
It would have been nice to see Dregg also bring back General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady, since they were all in Dimension X and they are always hanging out together. Mung said he only ran into Krang and Shredder. I mean if Bebop, Rocksteady and General Tragg were gone somehow it would have been nice to know what happened to them exactly.
Did anyone notice how Dregg looks different in Season 9 compared to Season 10? His jaw looks longer and his face seems thinner to me. I liked the Season 10 version of Dregg. I like how they showed development for Dregg when at first he wanted to rule Earth and then slowly started to lose his mind after being defeated over and over. Plus I thought the last episode was satisfying and had a fitting climax.
I wonder what happened to their obsession with pizza anyway? They almost never mention pizza in the red sky seasons. Maybe that's why they act so serious. xD

I thought Dregg was a great villain as well. I didn't mind that he replaced Shredder and Krang. He was at his best in season 10, as he was very cunning at times and fought a lot in that season. I preferred his look and personality in 10, too. The last episode was a good ending for the series.
It would been cool to see General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady brought back to Earth by Dregg, but I think Dregg was only interested in bringing back Shredder and Krang anyway.
I never realised that the turtles stopped obsessing about pizza in the red sky seasons when I was a kid. I guess they might have got tired of pizza after all those years.

It was a good ending for the series as it actually had an ending. Shredder and Krang were banished as was Lord Dregg and Dregg most likely killed or seriously injured if he got caught in that explosion and it kind of hints that there was no way he could have survived it. Not to mention Splinter says the Turtles are equal to him and that they no longer need a guide. It took me a while to notice but yeah he physically looks different in Season 9 compared to Season 10, but I like his Season 10 physical appearance more
Mung said he only ran into Shredder and Krang which seems odd seeing how Tragg and especially Bebop and Rocksteady would always hang out with them so I don't know what happened to them. I think it'd be cool if he brought them over as he would have had a major power boost during that life transfusion process as Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady all have super strength.
I don't think I've ever seen them even mention the word pizza let alone eat it so I'm not sure why they gave up their obsession with pizza. Although I do remember one episode where during a battle, one of the Turtles falls on Raphael, and Raphael replies" You guys have got to lay off the pepperoni!" Other than that I don't think I've ever seen them mention pizza again. It feels kind of strange as that was kind of a staple of the TMNT because of their obsession with Pizza. But I guess since it was more serious maybe the writers believed the Turtles eating pizza and putting weird stuff on it was too silly or something.
Or they were tired of eating it. As much as I love pizza, I'd probably be tired of eating nothing but pizza for a few straight years. :tlol:

It does seem odd that Mung only met Shredder and Krang. Maybe he did meet General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady but didn't see any reason to mention them to Dregg. Another odd thing is that the flashback in The Power of Three showed Krang and Shredder against the Turtles on their own. If that scene had taken place in the past, Bebop and Rocksteady should have been present as well.

I'm thinking Shredder/Krang were separated from Bebop/Rocksteady. Remember the Technodrome was all destroyed and abandoned in Season 10, so I think they all just got lost in Dimension X and stranded.
Krang clearly didn't have his army.

I always thought the final battle was pretty cool but always wondered what it'd be like if the other charactes joined in to stop the vastly more powerful Lord Dregg. I liked that they used Krang's android body against it, but I also think it'd be cool if maybe the episode was maybe a two parter and the Turtles enlist help from Splinter, Casey Jones, Usagi, Mondo Gecko, the Punk Frogs and even Carter returning from the future to fight Dregg and defeat him for good. That way we'd all see those characters one last time. Especially characters who were never even in the red sky seasons like the Punk Frogs, Mondo Gecko and Usagi.

I think Bebop and Rocksteady went their separate ways from Krang and Shredder. Krang probably didn't have his army alright, as he would have mentioned them if he had. Krang and Shredder didn't seem to have any resources in season 10.

That would make sense especially since the tmnt shut down Krang's slavery operation in Shredder Triumphant. They couldn't find anyone to help him find resources. They could have went their separate ways, but they were pretty loyal to Krang and Shredder, especially Shredder. I figured they either got tired of working with them or they were lost or got eaten by the plant. Krang and Shredder's control in Dimension X seemed to have dwindled into almost nothing so I guess they hit rock bottom.
I also kind of missed the fact that Shredder and Krang hated each other and would constantly mock and even purposely cause each other to fail to defeat the TMNT and in the Red Sky season the tension has all but disappeared as they seemed to treat each other more like equals and Shredder even goes so far to transfer his energy to save Krang. Did you like that they hated each other or when they started to act more like allies like in the Red Sky Season?

Oddly enough, Krang and Shredder didn't seem to have any resources on Earth in season 10 either. I thought they could have gone back to the Hall of Science for a while to plan, as they would have had access to Bererko's technology, though the tmnt might have destroyed everything after Turtle Trek.
I didn't miss that Shredder and Krang no longer insulted each other. I thought it was good to see that their friendship appeared to have grown. I liked that Shredder helped Krang on many occasions. I liked when they insulted each other as well, but it was a refreshing change to see them as allies in red sky.

The absence of Bebop, Rocksteady, and the lack of insults between them was for storyline purpose. We can easily believe Bebop and Rocksteady were with them but not beamed to Earth when Mung plucked Shredder and Krang. Shredder saving Krang and giving him a life energy transfusion was for storyline purpose. I was hoping for a sword fight between Shredder and Dregg with Shredder winning or Shredder being the dominant one between the two. I bet most of us were rooting for The Shredder.

A sword fight between Shredder and Lord Dregg would be cool, although if this happens after Dregg absorbs the Turtle's powers, Shredder wouldn't stand a chance as Dregg becomes a master of martial arts after absrbing the Turtle's abilities.
I missed the insults mostly because they were funny. They were usually the funniest parts in the show, and while I do like their alliance growing, I miss that they don't make fun of each other as they always made me laugh. xD

Imagine if Megavolt and Dregg teamed up. That'd be kind of awkward as they both have the same voice actor and sound almost the same. xD Except Megavolt has sort of a robotic voice when he has his helmet on.
Am I the only one who thinks Carter should have been the only one who could transform? I think that's what would set him apart from the other Turtles, instead of all of them transforming. Besides how did Carter mutate into that thing anyway? I thought they mutate into the life form they had most recently been in contact with.
I think Dregg should have kept both HiTech and Mung. I think it'd be kind of interesting to see the relationship between the two. HiTech seemed pretty hostile to Mung when he learned he was being replaced as the first thing he tried to do was shoot Mung. If both of them were kept around, I'd imagine HiTech resenting Mung for his brilliance and despise him for being a suck up to Dregg. Also Dregg would have had both a chief scientist and a main enforcer and keep both the Techno Gang and the Batmen.
I'd imagine April left channel 6 because of Burne and Vernon but I always thought Irma should have been kept around as that was the only person she got along with.

Both Carter and the TMNT mutating was stupid (especially TMNT). I wish that fourth movie would have come and kept those mutations there (I rarely cared much at all for the movies so it wouldn't matter for me at least if the movie were bad, just keep the mutations away from the cartoon).

I personally didn't mind Carter mutating, even though his mutation did sort of make him look like a giant spiked chicken. xD He was the only one who didn't have diminished brain power like the others. It's also weird to have a show depicting ninjas yet you see these hulks moving around. Plus Carter was really useful when he mutated and he would have stood out as the teams main muscle. One could argue that position was filled by Casey Jones but Casey isn't really part of the team like Carter as Casey just showed up either randomly or if he was called and he wasn't super strong.

I wouldn't have been interested in seeing Dregg and MegaVolt team up, as I considered MegaVolt to be a one-shot villain. I would have liked to have seen Colonel Knight from State of Shock again, though.
I would have preferred if Carter had been the only one to transform as well. I found him to be a bit annoying at times, though, and he could've been introduced better in season 9. I still liked him and thought he got some good character development in The Showdown.
Dregg could've kept Hi-Tech, but I think he just didn't trust him anymore and thought he had outlived his usefulness. I assumed that the Techno Gang were destroyed in Doomquest anyway.
Irma, Burne and Vernon could've been used as part of the media in season 9 when Dregg began a propaganda campaign against the Turtles.

I don't know if Irma would have been part of the media propaganda against the Turtles since she likes them, unlie Vernon and Burne but that would have been a good opportunity for Dregg to use those, too.
I wonder if Townsend Coleman should have continued voicing Shredder instead of William E. Martin. I understand James Avery left the show and he was of course the best version of Shredder and then came Coleman and then Martin. Martin was ok but Coleman was better and his version of Shredder sounded more like Avery's. Not sure why Coleman didn't voice Shredder in the Red Sky seasons. He was there on the show voicing Mikey and he portrayed a better version of Shredder than Martin.
I also wondered why Colonel Knight never showed up again. Especially at the end of the episode, he assumed he would meet the Turtles again, which he never did. xD Were the Techno Gang destroyed by Doomquest? I saw some of them get taken out, but was that all of the Techngo Gang? I remember Dregg saying his entire space fleet was spread throughout the galaxy so maybe he had more or maybe that's all he had.

I thought Townsend Coleman did a better portrayal of Shredder than William E. Martin as well, as he sounded more menacing to me, but I wasn't bothered that he was replaced. I still liked Martin's version of Shredder, but he seemed to be trying too hard to act evil at times. I assumed that all the Techno Gang were destroyed by Doomquest.
I would have liked if there had been more episodes in season 8 with Shredder and Krang at the Hall of Science to learn more about the place.

They probably should have kept Coleman as Shredder. I don't know why they didn't because he didn't leave the show like Avery did so I'm not sure why it was switched. His voice was better and it sounded more like Avery's Shredder than Martin's. Martin's voice would be great if Shredder was in his mid 60s and smoked a lot. xD Otherwise he was ok as Shredder.
Doomquest might which would have been pretty impressive. He only sent Draconis, his henchman to destroy The Techno Gang and it would be impressive if he took down the entire gang by himself but it would make sense since you don't see any other Techno Gang member in Season 10 aside from HiTech. I guess Dregg also controlled other races, since another member of his crew in the episode DoomQuest was from another race entirely so maybe the Techno Gang was destroyed. He must have had other races working for him as he said his armada was spread through out the universe.
I would have wanted at least 2 seasons with Shredder and Krang and both would be finally defeated. i.e. either killed or banished eternally. Then Dregg would be in for the final 2 seasons. Most of it would have Dregg using his propaganda until the last couple episodes where he's exposed and finally goes all out on the Turtles, even bringing his full armada with him. I always wondered if Dregg was killed since you never saw it. I assumed he was since he had little to no time left to escape the hold on Krang's body and if you listen closely, once they push him through the portal, it sounded like an explosion went off and the Turtles fall down so I'm guessing Dregg was killed by the Turtles.

Make them actually bad-ass. Red Sky, no matter what, was still the goofy 80's turtles trying so painfully hard to be serious... still with so-so fighting and big brightly colored goofy looking monsters and aliens.
They should have upped the budget and given the series some sweet fight scenes. Actual martial arts fight scenes.

I am not sure what "bo5g characters" means but I know he voiced a lot of characters in the 90s, mostly as villains and he did well at it, along with Tim Curry and Jim Cummings.

I'm not sure what "bo5g characters" means either. I knew Tony Jay voiced a lot of villains as well like Megabyte from Reboot and Machestro from Xyber 9.
Krakus could've been used again. I thought he was an interesting character that had ties with April.

Sorry, don't like typing from my android. Tony Jay voiced both Megavolt and Dregg. Tim Curry if healthy is one of two I wanted to hear voice a character in TMNT(2012). The other being John Astin aka Gomez in a more horroresque episode.
Tony Jay has a distinct and powerful voice, but lacks range.
I agree about Krakus. I thought he could have been used in Landor and Merrick's place. I have my own fanfiction idea for Karkus.

Oddly enough, they decided to go more sci-fi than ever. Nothign wrong with sci-fi since that's one of the genres/themes present in the TMNT franchise but it became cente-piece during Red Sky. Almost made you forget the title of the show.

The sci-fi elements could've been toned down alright. When Splinter talked about many alien races at the end of Cyber-Turtles, I thought the cartoon was straying too far from the source material.

I would have enjoyed it if they showed us how the other mutants handled their second mutation.
I also think Playmates making toys for the Red Sky episodes would have really helped people get into it more.

I never thought it was too focused on sci fi. It was sci fi based even before the Red Sky as the turtles befriended alien friends, i.e. turtleoids, Neutrinos, ect. and one of the main villains was Krang, who was an alien. Really I thought the Red Sky seasons was better overall than the original toon. They were both great but it was nice seeing the Turtles in a more serious light without losing the humor.
I thought of a theory involving the disappearance of Bebop And Rocksteady. Since they were mutated by the same king of mutagen as the turtles, they too had 2nd stage mutations that made them go beserk and Krang and Shredder were forced to kill them. Tragg either was defeated in Turtle Trek or deserted them once his army crumbled.
Does anyone remember the movie "Legend" Tim Curry played the main villain and if he voiced Lord Dregg, I'd imagine him sounding like that.
I was hoping the Firestar would appear again after Cyber Turtles. I imagined Lord Dregg obtaining it, putting it inside his suit, giving him the power of a thousand suns and making him god-like. In "Doomquest" were Dregg and Doomequest rivals. When Dregg saw his ship he immediately knew it was Doomquest's ship and Doomquest seems to recognize Dregg, and they seemed intent on destroying each other, implying they met each other at one point.

I thought the Red Sky seasons were good for their time, but they're a bit dated in comparison to the seasons from the 2003 series. 2003 showed what could be achieved wth less censorship and better writing.
Dregg and Doomquest did seem to know each other alright. I think they were more like enemies than rivals, though. Doomquest was the only person that Dregg was visibly fearful of for a while, but Dregg wasn't long getting over it and wanting to destroy Doomquest.

That would have been nice to see. Would have been a nice final villain, although I like Dregg more personally, Super Shredder would have been cool especially in the Red Sky seasons. I hoped that Shredder would be in contact with the mutagen. I remember in Wrath of the Rat King, they were making a new mutagen, and I hoped a container would come in contact with Shredder.

When the thought initially crossed my mind, I thought no. I thought that Super Shredder was a better fit for seasons 1-7. But when I stop and thinking about it, I think Super Shredder definitely could've worked in the red sky seasons. Especially with the turtles secondary mutations during the final two seasons.

I think the season 10 episode "Mobster from Dimension X" could've been written better. I thought it was a bit boring, especially coming after the 3-parter with Shredder and Krang. What happened to them anyway? They were transported along with Dregg and Mung to Dimension X in Turtles to the Second Power. I assumed at first that they might have been captured, but then I thought that Shredder and Krang probably had one last fight with Dregg and Mung before deciding to move on.

"Mobster" was only made so fans could theorize who he was working for since Krang and Shredder wanted revenge against Dregg and vice versa. It was to show which side won. Transporter energy was a big clue but just who transported him. Then we found out it was Dregg. *cough*

I didn't remember much about the episode when I first watched it as a kid, but thought it was a letdown that the Globfather was working for Dregg. Not only that, but ninjaturtles.com gave it away when summarizing the then upcoming 10th season. This was before archive.org so I can't prove it. I thought it was a letdown too but with three episode left, it would be hard to get Shredder and Krang to re-establish themselves as threats.

I agree about Shredder and Krang.
I didn't have internet access at the time when I first saw the episode in 1998, so I didn't even know that episode was from season 10.

True but it did have an on screen death in the episode which surprised me as that was kind of rare to see in cartoons in general or TMNT. I remember one of the early episodes, an alien who crash landed earth died and evaporated and with the Globfather, he turns one of the henchman into a blob. The henchman barely moves around and warns the Turtles of the alien, butt o me it sounded like he was dying as he made sentence fragments and yelled before shriviling up. So that was kind of rare to see.

The biggest problem was promotion. There were no video games and except for the Cyber Turtles figures, no merchandise for those seasons. If Next Mutation could still have figures, why couldn't we have had some for Red Sky?
However, this was the ideal opportunity for the OT to have its version of Turtles In Space, and it would be in another dimension/planet that we could have encountered not just Dregg, but perhaps Fugitoid, the Triceraton empire, but also have the Turtles' unusual mutations as a tool for passing through tough spots. With April retiring from Channel 6, she could have joined the Turtles and Casey could have joined her. It easily could have revived the franchise, much like Power Rangers: In Space did after Turbo.
Also, the City At War arc had recently been completed for Mirage, and could have been a perfect way to transition the seasons which could have ultimately ended in the change to the Red Sky.

I remember an episode where April was trying to distance herself from the Turtles and tried to focus on more ordinary stories which I thought was out of character and kind of cold since she saw Leo mutated and causing havoc in the city and then eventually gets wrapped up with Dregg anyway, which made the whole thing entirely pointless. Besides who would focus on ordinary stories anyway when you have mutants and aliens wreaking havoc? Doesn't make sense to me.
I wish Usagi showed up as well as the Punk Frogs. I was also hoping the Rock Soldiers would appear more often. I think it was a wasted opportunity to not have Shreeka, especially when there could have been a Beserko and Shreeka team up, since they both hated Krang. Colonel Knight and Dark Water should have appeared more often and the Firestar should have appeared once again, maybe in the hands of Lord Dregg.

You all are bringing up points I made in my fan fiction continuation of this series. I had a City At War arc play out several episode scripts in. Shredder and Krang themselves are trapped in a Dimension X vortex while Bebop and Rocksteady and the Technodrome are here on Earth. Leaderless Alpha 1 who placed the duo in the vortex took over the Technodrome and lead the Foot faction while Dregg who had quietly returned secretly worked with Big Louie who at the beginning of my continuation took control of the consolidated mafia. Dregg would later reveal himself after the third party wild card used mutagen to create four Ninja Rats to causes chaos to both Alpha 1's plans and his own, that wild card of course is The Rat King. After the turtles stop Rat King and blow up Alpha 1 a returned Shredder duels with Dregg as the turtles let their enemies wear each other down. Dregg ultimately is presumed dead after his ship malfunctions and explodes. That is one way a City At War scenario could have played out in TMNT (1987).
I also see I am not the only one who had the idea of a Beserko and Shreeka team up. The episode's perfect title of course would be, "Get Krang!" as they both are after Krang and a nod to Beserko's appearance in "Get Shredder!".
Also, if Agent Bishop appeared in the '87 cartoon he would have been the head of Dark Water. I guarantee it.

I am afraid not. It's on a Microsoft Word file. I took up where the series left off and created an in-story way to why the sky was red related to events of Shredder Trumphant and made Karkus Burne's grandson as a way of placing April back at Channel Six as a producer. A few other things as well. The tone mix of seasons 7 and 8 with tight continuity and guest stars interacting.
Was this continuation your own or someone else's?

The concept there was Titanus returned to mutate all of New York City set off my volcano off of the Hudson Bay. Burne, who was Dregg's main publicity when he fronted himself as a alien hero wanted to redeem himself to himself and the public by becoming Gadget Man II stopping Titanus, but nearly falls into the volcano and April filming Don disabling the chemical explosives. April saves him and Krakus witnesses this and utters "Grandpa Thompson" which leads to April's return to Channel Six as a producer. In the second episode script I introduced the only character I added, Tiffany's much older sister Tammy, a feisty redhead and station manager of rival Channel Three who Burne falls for. She was also The Rat King's college sweetheart and why he has a thing for redheads like April and her spurning as to what lead him to the deranged sewer dweller he is opposed to the scientist specializing in animal intelligence he could have been. If you want to respond to my crazy ideas of continuing the series PM me so not to derail this thread.

Yes,more Shredder and KRang in the Hall of Science. Such a great concept so short-lived. Without the Technodrome they were as badass as ever. They were headed in that direction in season 7 and achieved it here for badassery of all of 7 Red Sky episodes, 4 of which are in season 8.

That would've been nice to have Baxter appear in the eighth season. They could've had him team up with Shredder and Krang the way that the Rat King did in his season 8 episode. Yep, it was good to see Shredder and Krang not being held back by the Technodrome. I would also have liked more episodes at the Hall of Science. I thought they would have gone back there to get some resources in season 10, but the turtles probably destroyed everything after Turtle Trek.
