Ninjatron was just joking right :-? ....... Tell me Ninjatron was joking :o

But yeah the first one was the best..... but second one comes right close, and I'm not gonna even talk about the third one, it just sucked  .... the only good part was Casey Jones at the beginning.

The umpteenmillionth time this poll has come up...

1st one, by far.

Oh for cryin' out loud, who cares how many times it comes up? A lotta people missed it the first time, or the second, or the third. Not everyone who's fairly new here feels like going through pages and pages of threads before they post... and none of what's said on this board ultimately matters anyway. So let people have their mindless fun without nitpicking them to death... yeesh...

Sorry if I sound harsh, nothing personal, I'm just having a horrible, horrible day.

The first movie wins by far. The second one was close, but not close enough to be considered. And the third one was so bad that it barely counts.

All having to do with the fact that they removed Shredder from the movie. And there went the movie popularity down the drain. Had they included him in the plot, it might have actually kept the TMNT franchise afloat for at least another year as opposed to the general public completely forgetting about the turtles by 1994.

I wounder if the 2 would be different if it wasn't for so many parents telling New Line to get rid of Shredder and make it less ballance.

Leo656
09-22-2003, 04:25 PM
I wasn't just addressing Rez, it was to anyone who jumps on a new person's case for bringing up a topic without knowing it had been discussed a lot of times before, that's all. I don't know or care who each and every person who's ever done it is... lots of people do it, and it just bugs me sometimes. If someone's new here, they don't know what has and hasn't been discussed is all, and I think they should be given a little space to breathe. No malice or anything towards Rez or anyone else intended.

And like I said, my day sucked up to that point so I may have sounded more pissy than usual.

Anyways... First movie was my favorite, but Matt forgot to mention the REAL star of TMNT 2: KEVIN NASH, BABY! SUPER SHREDDER 4-LIFE!!! :D

Blaze DTGG
09-22-2003, 04:57 PM
you know.. you are almost as bad as women with your Nash fetish there sean.

and I agree. most new people dont know what topics have been brought up already so with a few exceptions. there is no reason to get on their cases. I mean there are some topics that just bring flame wars so it's good to avoid those

as far as the movies go.. I loved the first one it was the best but... BUT two had some things about it that i really liked better.

first off.. the voice for donatello.. in the second movie it was perfect. that was donnie in my mind.

and 2 just had a few funier moments and some really really good fight scenes

not to mention raphael tied to a pole *hehs*

Eh... I always preferred Corey Feldman. He does a helluva Michael Jackson impression, after all.

Hey, I didn't make the rules. It's not MY fault Kevin Nash is God and Corey Feldman is the 20th Century reincarnation of Jesus. I mean, is there any doubt Nash is God? Have you SEEN his hair? Before he got that awful crewcut a few weeks ago, anyway? Anyone with hair like that is obviously some sort of deity.

Blaze DTGG

I like corey feldman just as much as the next fan of the 80's

I mean, you can poll any faction of TMNT fans on the net and get the same answer.

You can poll any faction of any other fandom on the net and get the same answer.

Close, it's been gray since '98. All the stress of that nWo breakup and forming the Wolfpac didn't do poor Kev any good, I tell you what. After Hall turned on him and joined nWo Hollywood, it was all downhill from there. 6 months later he was gray as a mule.

But still godlike.

The 1st one exceeds all. It had the right amount of comedy, and the right amount of violence.

The 2nd one was too toned down... not enough violence and no real comedy, this was made to be okay for the kiddies. The turtles didn't use their weapons enough, only in the beginning. 2nd movie was overall okay though.

The 3rd movie had too much comedy, although most of it wasn't funny. Violence was there, but it wasn't my kind of violence.

He did bleach it a few times... man was it ugly... oh, but still not as bad as the time he had it painted silver so he could be "Oz"... which was right around the time he was cast in TMNT 2... as cheesy as that flick was, ANYTHING was better than playing "Oz".

Aside from Nash there's not much about TMNT 2 that I liked. It had its moments though.

My mum just got the second movie on VHS for my little sister. Here's what the back of the box says:

"Those heroes on the half-shell are back in an all-new movie adventure. Find out 'The Secret of the Ooze' as our fearsome foursome go after the glowing canister that has slipped into the hands of the evil Shredder and his mutant allies, Rahzar and Tokka. Aided by their new pal, Keno, the Turtles dive into action...and pizza! Powered by a hot soundtrack featuring Vanilla Ice's 'Ninja Rap,' TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: THE SECRET OF THE OOZE is sure to delight both kids and adults in this turtle-rific screen classic!"

Since when does Keno "aid" them? That's really intriguing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II is one of the best movie sequels of all time! Don't belive me!? Check this out here! http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmtv/features/eleven/sequels/ Seriously the third one wasn't that bad it had more action than the second it's just that the costumes were bad.

some good picks there. Much respect for being nice to the 80's. (Gremlins, Ghostbusters, TMNT, etc), though I'd probably not include Bogus Journey, one of the WORST sequels ever.

He forgot The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! Greatest sequel of all time!!! If you consider it a sequel. (Technically a stand-alone story, but it was the third part of Sergio Leone's Man With No Name Trilogy, which consisted of three different non-continuous stories)

This is X-Entertainment we're talking about. It's not SUPPOSED to be taken seriously.

My Turtles fandom got ressurected after years of dormancy recently and I re-watched the first two movies in the same day. Even though I liked the first one a lot better for its atmosphere, seriousness, and faithfulness to the comic, I was really surprised by the second one for one reason: the kung-fu is better. I was a little disappointed when I saw the first one again and realized how clumsy the turtles looked fighting in those big bulky costumes. But somehow in the second one they got around that problem and the kung-fu's a whole lot more fluid and natural looking.

This is all imho of course.

I can't see what you are talking about... Second movies was full of goofy fight scenes, fighting wit sausages, foot beating the ground while Mikey gets away etc. And no weapon usage... Of course it's possible that the second suits were easier to move with, but I guess I can't see that over the drasticly kiddified fight scenes.

Keep in mind that since they were trying to avoid the use of weopens in the movie, they had to rely heavily on martial arts. Almost bittersweet really.

THE SAUSAGES MADE THE MOVIE!!! :D But on a more serous note, they didn't really have a choice but to make it more kiddy. The first one will always be better, but the second one isn't hugely far behind it. If you enjoy them both for what they are, they are both really good.

Once you get past the lack of Shredder, the cheap costumes, and horrible gags.... what remains of the movie? And bringing Casey back like they did was really bad, IMO. It just seemed like they thought it would boost sales if Casey was in it so they squeezed him in pretty lamely.

There is? I don't think so... The title is Secret of the Ooze, but they were really simply exploring the mutagen that transformed them. I was also under the impression that Shredder simply used some of the leftover 'stuff' that had been used on Tokka and Rahzar.
