View Full Version : So how do you feel that the IDW and Nick series hit TMNT milestones?

IDW just released its epic #50 issue milestone that acted as a "finale" wrap-up for the first 4 years of the series while planting seeds for the next arc, and the Nick cartoon wrapped up its Season 3 in an epic finale with the Earth being destroyed, Splinter's demise, and the previews to Season 4 all look fantastic.

The IDW and Nick series just hit their big milestones within weeks of each other. Nick TMNT is renewed through Season 5 at 26 episodes a season still, and IDW TMNT looks extremely healthy and will likely hit issue #100.

How do you feel that the two new TMNT universes have been so successful when both could have bombed? Or been done terribly like the 2014 movie?

It made lots of money. Some of it is probably yours. It didn't do terrible. Just a lot of bad opinions.

I really like both IDW & Nick's output. Didn't like the movie. 2/3 is fine by me. We're lucky.

& as far as Viacom in general goes, well, they've allowed both teams to do some relatively dark/violent stuff, they're reprinting the old comics, we've been getting lots of cool toys/merch, so film blunder(s) aside I think they're doing a great job.

My point is, I'm also tired of hearing the same thing. It's almost cliche. Like, WE GET IT. YOU WHINE AND TRASH THE 2014 MOVIE WHENEVER IT COMES TO MIND. I'm just thinking: just shut up. Whatever, I'm not arguing with anyone.

I think it's awesome that TMNT is doing so well. Also, Cubed, season 5 was confirmed to have twenty episodes not twenty-six unless something changed.

Maybe try not to crap up at least one thread.

Now that's thinking fast.

I'm not a big cookie fan. Candy's fine.

This, we've been pretty fortunate.

Although, we've not had a big video game success yet.

The videogames have been lackluster for years anyway, so its not surprising. Most licensed games are crap unless they have a big-name developer behind them.

Congrats I guess?

I stopped watching the Nick show after S2, I just couldn't keep up with when new episodes were airing and I would forget what had happened, I didn't hate the show but found it nothing special. It has plenty of cool moments but plenty of meh moments as well. I'll definitely marathon the show once it hits its last season.

IDW in concept sounds amazing a mix of everything is what I've always asked but the few story arcs I've read and art have put me off from it. It definitely gets a lot of praise so I'll be checking it out as well when it's done for.

Platinum Dunes movie was fairly decent, they got the turtles just right but the other parts not so much. I think it can be salvaged, it definitely mad emoney so it's not a failure.

As far as videogames are concerned well the state of the industry right now is only AAA titles get million dollar budgets so licensed games are all but dead or just get some cheap crappy iOS port. I know they've released a few Nick show games on the 3DS, are those decent? Sadly I don't see the turtles getting the AAA treatment ever, I mean they really haven't ever so why start now? So I guess until the current model of the business collapses we won't be seeing any TMNT games. I'm surprised we haven't seen any eshop exclusive beat em ups, that couldn't be too expensive, I guess Out of the Shadows really ****ed up any chances of getting a real game (btw was that game really that bad?)

The show is ending. It's run is over. After season 5 it can no longer hurt is anymore lol.

But honestly its probably done there. I'm surprised it got renewed for a 5th. With all these breaks and the toys peg warming all over, the time is coming. Fans of the show enjoy it while you can.

No harm should that be the case, considering the plan from the start was to do 5 seasons. It's rare to have a concise & thought out plan come to fruition in a tightly wrapped package like that, so both Ciro & we fans alike are lucky to have the opportunity to see it. Anything else will just be welcome gravy.

LOL, what? The show was just recently renewed for Season 5, and had Season 4's initial 20 episode order bumped back up to 26. The show isn't ending anytime soon.

I expect 7 seasons and a movie before it ends.

I can see it go beyond 7 seasons, the original series still holds the record for 10.

The first Nick game wasn't bad. I purchased it for my son and I've played it with him a few times. It's definitely not as big of a franchise fail as the 2014 movie.
