How much of the series does Viacom own?

I know they don't own the rights to the first series even though they release merchandise with the 80s designs on them but regardless, does Viacom own stuff like the first 3 movies, the CGI movie and The Next Mutation and do they get residuals from DVD sales and TV airings of the things they don't own because they own the IP?

I think it gets confusing for the OT since Lionsgate is the one that releases the DVD's. However Viacom has had relationships with Lionsgate in the past. I assume Viacom owns it and gets a cut from Lionsgate.

So wait, Nick has the rights for everything but the original series? Because I've heard that New Line still owns the rights to the first three movies and that Warner owns the rights to the CGI movie and Saban owns the rights to TNM. Is that correct?

The original animated series (1987–1996) was produced by Fred Wolf Films Dublin (as Murakami Wolf Swenson (MWS) and Murakami Wolf Dublin (MWD) during earlier seasons), and syndicated by Group W. The series itself is owned by Wolf Films, with home entertainment rights residing with Lions Gate Entertainment, and until recently, syndication rights belonged to Nickelodeon's former corporate sibling CBS Television Distribution.[citation needed] The initial five-part miniseries (retroactively considered the first season) was copyrighted by Playmates Toys, although their rights to those episodes were bought out by Fred Wolf Films.

Assuming this is the most recent information there is, Viacom does not the Fred Wolf cartoon in any capacity. This might be the reason why they opted to air the 4kids series instead of the more well known Fred Wolf one.

I think Lionsgate still owns the Fred Wolf series, cause I remember buying the DVD box set from the Lionsgate store.

The first 3 movies are owned by New Line Cinema, TMNT is owned by Warner Bros, who also owns New Line Cinema.
