Easily the worst incarnation of turtles anything. I remember seeing it a few years back and man oh man it's terrible. Makes Next mutation seem like a masterpiece.

I prefer it to Bayturtles.
But since that'll be seen as a troll comment, I'll say this is far better than Turtle Tunes, it's non-holiday related counterpart. It's one of those "so bad it's good" features, there are lots of laughs to be had. I've watched it every Christmas for much of my life.

Okay, that alcohol abuse gag was pretty funny.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for this - falls into "so bad it's good" territory.
And yeah, it's a staple for the Xmas watch list. I also downloaded the soundtrack for my tpod so I can torture people with it - because I'm evil that way. :tlol:

I feel his pain. Even as a kid, I never liked it. Next Mutation and Bay Turtles have got nothing on this and Turtle Tunes (especially the latter).
Raph announces his interest in inter-species relationships on Oprah Winfrey. (That's a lot of ins)

I prefer it to Bayturtles.
You and me both, brother.
But to be fair, I prefer food poisoning to BayTurtles. No foolin'. I swear to Cthulu, I will once again take my chances on the lobster bisque and then spend 8 hours straight spewing putrid diarrhea into the toilet while simultaneously projectile-vomiting into the cat's litter box before I EVER willingly watch that piece of sh*t again.
As far as Turtle Christmas goes... eh. It's a dumpster fire but it was explicitly made for little kids on a $0 budget. It's no more offensive than a Barney video, really, so long as it's considered in context. Plus, it's fairly obscure. It's not a gigantic festering boil on the ass of the entire franchise, like certain other things are.

This critique is exactly what this Christmas special always needed. Just made it's terribleness all the more hilarious.
Since this thing is by fate "supposed" to be bad anyhow... I demand a BayTurtles reboot of it. :trazz:

The fact that Doug "take the money and run" Walker is still making videos to his shrinking fanbase is a lot worse.
His older stuff is pretty good though.

Shrink as it may, it will always have one.

I actually watched that clip for the first time last night. Gotta admit that it was rather funny.

I don't see the music TMNT as a special universe, and it shall not be judged as one. Nothing to care for.

Interestingly, Obscurus Lupa did the same one a few years ago http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x30916a_olp-we-wish-you-a-turtle-christmas_fun
There's not enough destroying the world from Christmas joy, though.

I find it ironic that he would review this after Angry Video Game Nerd already did it, especially after Doug said right out that he didn't feel like reviewing the third movie since AVGN already had. Kind of a double standard there, dontcha think?

I'd assume it's because there's a little bit more fun to be had in the Christmas special than the third movie. While pretty much everyone knows that the third movie isn't good (and I'm not even touching the live action movies, personally), WWYATC is usually left in the dirt for discussion.

That alcohol abuse reference was undeniable though.
I think this is better than Bayturtles and I like the Bayturtles.
It's just goofy fun which makes it amusing and somehow it works. Turtle Tunes on the other hand is nearly unwatchable for me, not sure why since it's basically the same format. I also consider it better than Coming out of the Shells Tour which some people have nostalgia and defend it but is just awful. I don't know why but it works for me, I'll watch it this X-Mas.
