View Full Version : Could Dregg absorb the Turtles?

I always wondered why he didn't absorb the Turtles in Divide and Conquer. He absorbed 5 of the most powerful aliens in all the galaxies with a flick of a switch? Instead of fighting them, wouldn't it be to his favor to absorb the Turtles, too, so he'd be rid of them and become even stronger than before?
I often wondered what it'd be like if Lord Dregg ran into Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and General Tragg and ended up absorbing them, too since they were in Dimension X as well and that was the last place he was in before he went to Earth. He was already powerful when he absorbed those aliens and had their speed, strength, mental abilities and powers and had it multiplied a hundred fold so I can only imagine what it'd be like if absorbed Shredder and company. I almost feel like he should have. That way we'd know that Shredder and others would be gone for good, instead of wondering what happened to them? We just saw them go to Dimension X and we never see them again. And Dregg would become really smart, having the intelligence of both Shredder and Krang.
But how come Lord Dregg didn't just absorb the Turtles when he arrived? Unless he suit can only absorb up to 5 people.

I never thought of Dregg absorbing the Turtles in Divide and Conquer. I guess he could've, but he probably wanted to kill them instead. Dregg had gone insane by that point and become obsessed with destroying the Turtles.

He was losing it so one can say he wanted to savor destroying them himself. They never gave the limitations of his suit, I wasn't sure if his suit can only absorb 5 people or what. Anyone in their right mind would have absorbed the Turtles and become even stronger and smarter but then he wasn't in his right mind so I guess that's the reason. And of course he challenged the Turtles all by himself which shows he really not in his right mind. True he was more than powerful enough to defeat them, but you'd think he'd bring back up just in case. But I guess he wanted to come alone just so he'd have the pleasure of destroying them himself.
He should have absorbed Shredder and company. You'd think being defeated tons of times would have made him a little paranoid and he'd do it just to make sure he wasn't defeated. That way he'd absorb 10 people instead of just 5 people.

Dregg probably thought if he just absorbed the turtles, they could get free somehow eventually whether some ally outside the exoskeleton destroys it or the turtles break out of it. If that were possible, Dregg clearly wouldn't like it since he wanted the turtles destroyed so badly, no one ever said the exoskeleton was indestructible.

Dregg could've absorbed Shredder and company alright. The thing is he actually came closer to defeating the Turtles in mid season 10 when he became a super being and was still beaten in the end, so I don't think it would have made much difference.

I don't know, he absorbed the 5 most powerful aliens in all of the galaxies and they never broke out at all. I don't know who could free the Turtles if they were absorbed. Carter is in the future so he can't help unless he travels back, and Splinter doesn't know mechanics or computers as well as the others so I'm not sure if he can figure out a safe way to get the Turtles out. Perhaps destroying the suit, but who knows, that might destroy the Turtles as well.
It isn't indestructible but it's quite powerful and versatile as he can shapeshift any part of his body and he can make the suit dense or not so dense depending on what he changes into. He turned into that giant gray round bodied form which allowed him to roll over people, turned into a motorcycle. and even a creature with many tentacles, so I imagine destroying it would be quite difficult. Not to mention he can transfer his body into computers and hide within machines like he did with April's computer.
It is true he came closer to defeating them, but really he pretty much won against the Turtles and would have defeated them had it not been for Merrick and Landor and the past Turtles. So if he absorbed Shredder, Krang, General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady, in addition to the 5 aliens he absorbed, he'd be nearly unstoppable. Not to mention Dregg was so powerful they had to get Krang's android body to stand a chance against him. Remember he absorbed the Turtle's mental and physical strengths and Krang's intelligence, but his Morpho Genesis Exoskeleton not only absorbed them, but it was multiplied a hundred fold which is a huge increase. So you'd have a more powerful and intelligent Dregg and he'd be a master martial artist to boot.
I often wondered what it'd be like if he absorbed Shredder and the others and possibly other of the TMNT's old enemies, like Beserko, Megavolt, some of the HAVOC mutants. He was obsessed but you'd think he'd be even more paranoid after losing so many times that he'd want to absorb as much as he could just in case.

You gotta keep in mind that the aliens he absorbed all had superpowers. The Turtles didn't. They're just mutants with martial arts skills. But they had to learn that from scratch. Their mutation didn't gave them such skills automatically. So maybe his absrobing suit would reject the Turtles because it wouldn't detect any powers? Or maybe Dregg just wanted to kill them with his own hands as a matter of pride?

Is it weird somehow Dregg's absorbing power was totally lost on me while watching the Red Sky episodes?
I do remember Dregg said his microbots had the ability to turn people into cyborgs. He tried to do that to April in "The Beginning of the End." I actually would have liked to have seen what that would have looked like. :tlol:

Maybe it's because it's sh*t and no one bothered to think about, really, anything creatively.

Well the suit not only absorbed their powers, but their strengths. and probably their intelligence and memories as well. They never told us the limitations of the suit however. He not only had powers but immense super strength and durability, being able to shatter walls and fall from great heights, ect. When he absorbed the Turtle's energy the first time, he absorbed their energy and their life force and gained their physical and mental strengths, having knowledge of martial arts and being strong enough to take on Carter in his mutated form. The Turtles, at least on paper, aren't classified as super strong, but they are at least in peak physical condition. Take 4 people like that and you'd have a strong person. Not to mention, the suit didn't just absorb the alien's energy. It literally absorbed them entirely into Dregg's body. And the suit not only gained their strengths and powers but it was multiplied a hundred fold. That's a huge increase.
I will assume that simply absorbing the Turtles would not be as satisfying. As he said he was going to enjoy destroying them. Some villains will do that where they are so obsessed with personal revenge, they abandon common sense in order to satisfy themselves.
