Boy, "Chet" grew up to own just about everything in the Mirage Comics universe too! His name was pasted everywhere!

I like that they kept Chet in the original cartoon. I wonder if this boy was named in the script of the episode, does anyone know? Is he named Chet or is it just "boy" in the script?

Dollars to doughnuts, it's just "boy."

I wonder he ever would've put two and two together and realized that the four turtles that he lost eventually became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Wasn't there some comic where he became a sewage worker and ran into the turtles?

Yep! It was in one of the colored issues of Turtle Soup, done by Farley. Though it was notable for featuring colored masks by mistake.

That would have been kind of awesome if the cartoon series had reconnected him with the Turtles and kept him around some. Makes me wish Nick had that option, had Yoshi not have been the pet-buyer.

Wouldn't it have been funny if the kid who bought them in the OT had turned out to be Zach? Maybe that's why he was such a big fan of theirs- he figured out that they were his (briefly) former pets!

Ya know, I have thought about how the kid and Zack kinda remind me of each other. The only thing is, should the kid have aged 15 years? Or is that not necessarily the case with the OT?

Yeah Zach crossed my mind (and alternately his brother), but definitely (or should be) an age conflict there since the Turtles were older than him.
If the kid that lost them was, say, 10 or 12 then he should have been 25+ if he ran into the Turtles 15 or more years later? Darn, he could have been like the big brother (ok, the sane big brother if we count Casey) version to April's big sister role. (Aw man, now I want to know how the undoubtedly predictable love triangle would have turned out. :tlol:)

:D
Kind of makes me wish these new films went with a similar origin for the Turtles, rather than going the lab animal route. Instead of trying to force some deeper connection with now 'hogosha' April, it might have been fun to explore a character who exists in lore but never really delved into; bring in a relative unknown human character (but at least one that's slightly known vs making up new ones all together or changing the stories on old ones) and once they're friends have him and the Turtles at some point discover their connection to each other, no hogoshas necessary. *sigh* The things that could have been. And been more interesting.
Once I almost had four pet turtles. Now we're hanging out playing a few video games. Life...is really weird. lol
