it accrued to me that ninja turtles was the first subject my would be girlfriend and i talked about. -like discussion that didnt leave me embarrassed to confess my love of the fandom. ironically she is a bigger tmnt fan than i am. and i'm going to dallas in the morning to meet with her, we plan to see the out of the shadows movie, decked out in tmnt shirts and whatnot.

and i just wonder how many of ya'll found love cause of turtles? just a curious discussion that just clicked in my brain, curious of how many of us are lucky enough to meet a chick or dude thats into tmnt just as much as you?:tgrin:

Nope. I have had no such luck at the current moment. I guess I'm not Ninja Turtling correctly.

I guess that could be a good thing since I'd rather not be in a similar situation like this one. :P

At least this time you mentioning her has purpose. :tlol:

I dunno, nothing major. I'm a musician, one of my fans took to chatting me up & we started to get something going. Casual talking/flirting at first, but it was after finding out about my passion for the turtles that she became more invested, I think. I explained the emotional components of it, how I used it to cope with depression, that it got me into art, kept me out of trouble, etc. & she was actually quite impressed by my little speech. :tlol: I guess the meat of it was that I showed her a "vulnerable" side of me, but I'd like to think the TMNT helped. She was a (casual) fan, in fairness, so we did exchange a few enthusiastic comments about it before moving on. She wore some of their tees & stuff (some she had from before me, others she got while with me) but overall the turtles were not a part of our relationship, we didn't watch or talk about them.

While I have made many great friendships though the TMNT & by extension these forums, I have yet to have a legit "shellhead" girlfriend. I've fallen in fandoms, but not this one. For one thing, compared to others, it's kind of a boys club. I'm not exactly looking for anything anyways, though I do sometimes think it'd be rad to find a lady who loves this stuff as much as me.

It has certainly helped me make a friendship. I consider it a miracle to find someone who is just as fascinated with a niche aspect of a thing as I am, in this case Utroms. At the start, I kind of figured I was alone in it until I started talking to Ceres. A similar thing happened with Daleks several years ago, when I met someone who shared my interest in broadening how they worked. We met in 2012, have seen each other in person twice, and have remained good friends since ever sense.

I found Ceres in a similar aspect...and through deviantART. Come to think of it, I think we bonded more over our two radically different concepts for Krang's mother that has never been explored otherwise, than TMNT itself  .

Maybe one day, I could find love through something, but it would be remarkable if it was through TMNT.

Not really no. When my wife and I met she had only heard of TMNT beforehand. Eventually I introduced her to it, starting with the original series. Shown her all the movies and MOST episodes of the 3 tv series at this point(not Next Mutation yet). She's pretty much a casual fan at this point and the current series happens to be her favorite.

About love. First thing cartoon tries to tell that love isn't about not sharing it with a freak/ugly (I have always disagreed with u ugly aspect, because, a turtle, it's a type, spieces, variety, they are beautiful within their variety, I also thought the same with Beast (beauty and the beast). But in the end the standarts of beauty (tall, good-form or lighter colors of hair and eyes, ....) are not a very major thing to orientate for love, it's mainly about feeling and being comfortable with a partner. That's what the cartoon told me, the strict standart of following the beauty aren't priority when you're going with the love.

Nope, but I think it did scare off I girl I was very keen on at the time. Comic book conventions make for poor second dates (especially when she sees how much money you dropped for a Freddie E. Williams commission).

Only depression, addiction and pain. But I still love it.

Also... ticktack... as a fellow psycho... you're really weird.

Don't judge me.
Doing a little day drinking?
I think ticktack is an alcoholic.
I'm not an alcoholic either.
