Hello all..this message is to just let you all know about a recent (today) experience that i had with a strech figure of mine....

I was looking through some of my boxes today that are filled with various turtle items: toys, movies, etc. Well, I went to open one box and it wouldn't open. It was stuck- from the INSIDE! I had no idea what this could mean so i tried to pry it open and low and behold when i finally opened it, the inside of the box top is sticking to something inside the box. It turned out to be Stretch Donatello!! Apparently, he ruptured and whatever that crap is that makes the figures stretchy is came out! i dont know if it was liquid at some time or what (this box has been stored away for a couple of years now...) but as of now it is very hard. Whats worse, is that i had some turtle plushes and they are now ruined and/or stained by this "material". Four plushes were actually sticking to the bottom of Don's foot (where i guess the hole is) and i had to litterally TEAR them off!! there may have been a better way but i guess i panicked....Anyways the moral of this story is- BEWARE of your stretch figures!!!! If you have them stored away check on them cuz how my figure ruptured in a box full of plushes I'll never know...and to top it all off, he doesnt even strecth anymore...well, thats my story....<sigh>

MAn I'm glad I don't have any stretch figures. I remember when I was little I had like twenty stretch figures called Stretch Armstrong. They would always rupture and I would get new ones. All though the concept was cool the durability wasn't. Does anyone remember these figures?

Oh yeah, I had that problem, too. I even put a bandaid over the leak point as the silly graphic on the card suggests, but it keep oozing anyways.

I have a carded Stretch Shredder going up on eBay later today if anyone's interested. 8)

You know how the 80's are back right now? Well, the 70's where in when we where kids in the 90's, hence land of the lost and stretch Armstrong amongst other things.

If I remember correctly, and these things are essentially the same as a Strech Armstrong then they are full of corn syurp.

I have a stretch shredder and Don both out of thier packaging, anyway I used to keep the Don in a tub with some other TMNT figures and one day I opened the tub to find a surprise. The Don stretch leaked his insides all over other figures and accesories. The cleanup took a good 45 minutes. :goofygri:

I had always heard that the stuff in those things was something like corn syrup, which could explain the oozing and the sticking and the hardening. Tough luck, though.
