i rewatch some episodes and even though the eye blinks in the main theme but really doesnt do much after.. without that eyeball i would say the technodrome is pretty uncool
especially when i see the figure go on ebay without the eye in a lotta auctions... that golfball eye is the greatest!

Yeah, the Technodrome would never be invited to prom without the eye.

I don't know, personally I always thought a giant ball with a giant eyeball on top looks kind of... Silly.
I prefer what it looks like in Turtles Forever or the 2012 series, in both it looks more like the whole thing is a giant eyeball which is a much simpler and effective design.

I always thought it was some kind of periscope or a laser cannon.

IDK. While you definitely made me consider it providing a Sauron-esque sort of coolness and/or vibe, I still think it's neither necessary nor a big deal.

In some of the Archie comics and UK Hero Turtles comics the eyeball was replaced with a parabolic antenna.

Not bothered. I never paid much attention to the eye, as it was only used briefly in a few episodes such as Altantis Awakes and Shredder Truimphant. I thought the eye with the toy Technodrome was lame, as all it could do was roll about.

Maybe it was a missile, since the Big Trilogy shows the Technodrome firing eyeball missiles.

Some of the MNT comic books and illustrated novelisations occasionally depicted the Technodrome without the eye, or changed the eyeball to that of an antenna.

Yeah, the eyeball adds a lot
Without the eye it makes even less sense, it looks like some type of Alien weapon. The Turtles Forever version looks so boring and generic.

It didn't necessarily have an eyeball in Turtles Forever (just the laser thingy) and it looked all right to me. That was a totally different design, though, so maybe it doesn't count.

If two Technodromes go to war, is it then "an eye for an eye?"

I know that last movie left a lot of us scratching our heads, but I gotta admit the little kid in me squealed like crazy when I saw the eyeball show up atop the Technodrome during the big fight scene with Krang.

"how uncool is the technodrome without the eye"
Why...why would you exercise such a concept.

Turtles Forever Technodrome actually has eyball until Chrell upgrades it.

We should definitely be concerned. No eye should not blink for 22 minutes straight.
