Does anyone know if the teenage mutant ninja turtles are going to be in I love the 80s' strikes back?

It all depends if they decide to use certain topics that they already touched on in last year's segments.

I'd say its more than likely. They only touched on it breifly last time.

At the very least we'll get a "Then/Now" segment like they had last time.

the '80s had so many good cartoons....I have seen some of them come back. For instance, He-man and TMNT have come back on the tube.

True. And Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears are making a comeback....*shudders* Care Bears.....
Out of all the Care Bears...I liked BRAVEHEART LION the most! :D

I have seen the Smurfs come back for a short period of time.....when I was a freshman at CU.

Braveheart Lion isn't a carebear he's a carebear cousin

the fact that Leo was ranked as one of the Hunks of the 80's was what got to me *L*

I hope they touch on TMNT more in this one since it's become so popular again. Although then we might have to remember the darker side of the TMNT popularity.... *shudders*.. there were some TMNT things made.. that just did not need to be..

I dought they'll do another TMNT segment

Personally I'm hoping for a dino cartoon segment, though it doesn't really tie to one year since they came out all through the 80's

maybe they'll at when Van Damns movies were popular

I thought "I Love the '80s" did use the turtles? It was a a while ago they showed this... a long while like last year! Someone came up to me about it, and I was so disappointed that I missed it. A lot of people were talking about it that day (I guess the Ninja Turtles still have a buzz around G'ville). Someone even said that Leonardo was "Man of 1989" or "Hunk of 1989", whichever one it was.

But now that I just mentioned all this... I'm starting to have doubts. *strikes chin*

They were showcased on the original series of it in the 1988 segment. But here were the 2 main flaws in the presentation:

- The fact it was 1988 and not 1987 they were shown in
- All but one or two of the video clips they used were from 1990 onwards...

And, of course, the biggest laugh of all was the closing celebrity comment on it by Judith Gold (whoever the hell she is). She only acknowledged the existence of the toy line and the fanboy types that we all were back in the day. Her last words: "...and I thank God it's over!"

Judy, I just want to let you know that I still care for you, despite the fact that you're losing your sanity running around all day in a straightjacket in a padded room since not long after you said that ;)

Now, whether or not TMNT will be mentioned in this "I Love the 80s Strikes Back" or not is beyond me. The fact that I don't have any major cable channels (as I already mentioned) doesn't help me to find this out :(

I doubt they will mention it again either.

I can't believe Judy Gold, the ninja turtles craze is never over.

I bet if you tried telling her that they're back, she'd tell ya to quit blowing smoke up her rear end, which I'm sure someone would shove a sai into after she says that!

Jephael

I take it you don't have VH1.

BTW, I was just watching "I Love 1981" and they reviewed Porky's. You gotta love that movie.

VH1 is an American cable channel. And I saw that "I love 80" was on earlier, but Horatio Hornblower is on too, so I didn't watch it.

I don't know about anyone else but I really didn't like that segment they did on TMNT on Love The 80s, it seemed more like they were bashing it then anything.

And Judith Gold sucks! :x

*snorts* Judy...honey...in case you haven't noticed....the turtles are back on the air and they will STAY on the air....FOREVER!!

no they bashed He-Man, the turtles got off pretty unscaved

If your not watching this show, do so, if for no other reason than to see Boy George, I swear I saw him and all most lost bladder control. And of course the smurf bit

Jephael

My dad actually used to quote Boy George. Now that I know the guy looked like a stoned out version of Jack from Will and Grace, I can pick on my dad about it.

I don't know about anyone else but I really didn't like that segment they did on TMNT on Love The 80s, it seemed more like they were bashing it then anything.
Judith Gold sucks! :x

Lets just be thankful it was mostly just the kids from our age group who were talking about TMNT, all of whom were only posative about the phenominon.
Most of the people interviewed for these segments are 30 year-old whiny bitches who complain about everything!

Shellfox

Getting really tired of VH1 starting their programs then 5 seconds in switching into commercials then rejoining the show in progress, always after something real cool had just happened

The funniest person on those shows is Michael Ian Black.

I gotta disagree with you on that and say Hal Sparks is the funniest.

Lisardo
10-23-2003, 06:02 PM
They may show it again, but I'd be esp. looking out for the years 1988 and 1989, cuz '88 is the year they were mentioned last time. Tho I doubt they'll mention the new toon that was spawned from it, it would be cool if they mentioned the FoxBox toon also.

I totally agree with Leo being a Hunk of 1989! :D
