comingsoon.net is a good place to look for stuff. They have news as soon as it comes up. They've had quite a few things relating to the new TMNT movie.

I just read that the movie is being worked on by two guys including the director from the first film! YES! Steve Baron or something like that. Anyways it says that it's a fairly adult treatment of the characters! Looks like we might see an amazing TMNT movie!

it better not be cgi....it just doesnt work for the turtles....it either needs to be like the old movies, or...wait, it just needs to be like the old movies! maybe give em a makeover, the next mutation's looks looked best for the turtles.

I'll be happy if the new toon is really well done animation. Not like anime, but more like Batman, TAS.

The movie will be in CGI. I don't mind CGI at all; I'm just worried about the plot of the movie. As for the cartoon, I hope it'll look good, especially with all those new cartoons to compete with. Batman Beyond has awesome animation, and the new Justice League cartoon is done well too.
*crosses fingers*
Let's hope the TMNT will look better than ever once the cartoon surfaces.

Mike

Batman Beyond and JL? Good animation? Bah! That's just my opinion, because I have higher standards.

azure turtle
03-07-2002, 08:33 PM
Really? What would you consider good animation? I'd say Batman Beyond and JLA are pretty darn good for American made cartoons. If you're talking about anime, then yes, there is better animation out there. Princess Mononoke, Ghost in the Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire, Cowboy Bebop, the list goes on and on.

I love the normal cel animation, but im starting to like the Computer stuff, like Dinosaur, and Monsters Inc. as well...

Ya, the computer animated stuff is pretty awesome too. Did you see Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? That movie is graphically amazing. Too bad it was lacking in the story department.

Machias Banshee

i've never seen any of the final fantasy stuff. Ive seen commercials, and theyre amazing!

The movie itself sucked, but, yea, the animation was awesome. Anime style is best though. Just as long as it isnt too animeish...

Yeah, i know. I wantched the TMNT anime, its a riot. Krang sounds like a squeaky toy, and Splinter actually sounds good in his voice!

Batman Beyond? Ick.. I was referring to the first Batman animation series started in the early 90's.

I still am not found of chibified anime TMNT. It's okay for DBz and Medabots... but not the TMNT. Of course, unless it's more like manga...

And the CG... that takes alot of money to do. Pixar and ILM are very good at what they do, without having it cost them a arm and a leg like it did for the producers of FF.

That's prolly another reason why the CGI version of the TMNT show failed. Too expensive to produce something that looks really good.

(sorry so long, I don't get on much)

Hm, I liked the old Batman show too. I've always been a Batman fan  And it is a shame that the CGI show got canned. It looked so promising.

Batman was a great show on any series. Toonami is really sucking though

The CGI looked great, what got it canned?

Kali
03-09-2002, 10:16 PM
Expense. It would have cost a lot more money than they were willing to spend on the idea. That, and someone else decided that it would look better in 2D, which will be smoother.

Hot Rod 350

money always gets in the way for everything. 2d would look smoother though

Kali

Especially for all the quick martial arts stuff. The CGI did look cool, but I can't stand the current CGI shows they have on.

A new movie!!! Yes! Heck, I hardly care if it's not like the others (though I would rather it was...) At least they're making a new one!!! And it really is too bad the new cartoon got canned. It was never even given a chance! *sigh* I just don't want to what 2-3 years for it...

Kali
04-24-2002, 01:24 PM
The cartoon's not canned yet! It was planned for this fall, but it's not in the line up. Some people are talking about it coming in mid season. The CGI show got canned, so they decided to make to in regular cel animation.

Mike
04-24-2002, 03:24 PM
maybe theyll can the cgi movie...il tell you what im looking forward to...the hallmark tmnt movie! that will rock, its like a three part movie series, and itll be live action. now THATS how tmnt movies should be!

Kali
04-24-2002, 03:30 PM
Word is that the CGI film will depend on the success of the cartoon. I'm looking forward to the Hallmark movie too, although it won't be live action, I don't think. They've been talking about live actors, but the turtles (and I guess Splinter) will be computer animated.

azure turtle
04-24-2002, 06:00 PM
That's kinda weird...the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie was like that, and it didn't do very well. I think Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit were the last few movies that did well by combining human actors with characters who...well, aren't so human :goofygri: I wish that Hallmark series would be actual live action...

Machias Banshee
04-24-2002, 07:58 PM
Well, as long as they make the characters look as realistic as possible, i think it could work.

That's my hopes for the movie, as well as the Dinotopia thing that's coming up in a few weeks...

azure turtle
04-24-2002, 08:53 PM
I hope it'll all work out in the end....
