I bet it in an hour...or less. I read people saying they fought shredder and Hun, but I never did. Are there really only 16 levels......4 for each turtle?? I did it on easy, then tried medium but it was the same levels. Am I missing something, what do i do??

you get to fight shredder and hun when you play the game on normal or hard. after you beat it with all turtles again, it unlocks the shredder level. Also, in normal and hard, you can collect all the crystals and unlock casey jones mode in the gamecube version. plus, the vehicle levels for each turtles are longer and more difficult.

ok....I played on easy and beat the 4 levels for each turtle and it told me to try normal or hard. So I did and picked to start with donnie and it was the same levels as before. I dtill dont understand
yes each of the levels are the same but they are harder then once you beat them all u unlock a shredder level where you can play as any turtle

I find all the damn talking on the GBA version to much and annoying...
you spend more time reading and going through text then you actually do playing the game itself.

There's something called the "start" button. It makes all that annoying talking go away.
I love the GBA game. Likely more than the GCN game. It's just so fun and is great for a quick fix. I imagine I'll be busting it out for many a road trip and plane ride to come.
The levels are similar but I assure you. They become much more difficult, and I'm having a heck of a time tracking down all those dang crystals.

I dtill dont understandUhhh, the first 16 levels are the same regardless of difficulty level, aside from the number of enemies, how hard they attack, and how frequent some of the "traps" are. The only difference between easy and the normal/hard difficulties is that there are 4 "Shredder" levels that can't be accessed until the first 16 are complete. What were you expecting?
I'm...really appalled that you actually thought the levels would change according to difficulty level. Mods, please don't edit what I'm about to say this is honestly how I felt: you have no idea how hard it was for me to figure out how to say, "Boy, you really ARE a dumba**!" when reading your posts...
Karpo: Heh, you're a hell of a lot farther along than I am; I can't even get past the first act for each turtle on hard...

why did u even bother playing it in easy?, konami games never have anything when u finish it in easy
Still haven't beaten Shredder's level on hard...Me neither. I got all the way to shredder but he's freakin hard. I played him like 5 times and only got him to turn into the 4 mini shredder creatures two out of the five times. The best i every did was get him to about a 2/3rds of his health.

No, I didnt think they would change difficulty.....I wanted to know why they would have 16 levels that you have to beat 3 times to play the shredder level. Thats stupid, it gets boring playing them 3 times. I was expectiing a game to play on 3 difficulties that was long, instead of playing a few levels over and over. God Rez.....youre a jackass. I was asking a question because I didnt understand why the game would be like this.

maybe I dont play as many games as you but Im not a video game noob. Ive never played a game like the TMNT GBA game...where you beat levels on different difficulties to reach the final levels. And how does that not make me a turtle fan? That make no ****ing sense. just because a tmnt game was a little confusing....so Im not a fan? Theres never been a TMNT game like this one before.

Theres never been a TMNT game like this one before. you think replaying a couple dozen levels is boring? man... try mario world and getting all the dragon coins, THEN getting all peach coins, and THEN getting all of the exit gates. Or, even better, try getting all 150 pokemon in red/blue. i had to have went through the elite 4 about 70 times before i was done.
and an example for the diffrent dificulties... KI gold on the N64 had that, in order to get Master dificulty, you had to be the game on very hard, and each time it gave you a better ending.
and, as has been said, this is a GBA game... that would have added another few months in the development and programming cycles for Konami's GBA team on a game that could have flopped.

I'm currently on the Shredder level at normal difficulty. Haven't beaten it once yet and I've been playing my old TMNT games alot as well. I just can't seem to get past the two foot elite in the elavator... On top of that I only managed to collect one of the 20 crystals...guh...but at least I know where one of Raph's that I didn't remember to grab are hidden. ^.^ I dunno why but I've /never/ been good at beat-um-ups. Can't even beat the first part of Radical Rescue (which I really kinda liked because it seemed pretty inovative in comparison to all the other old games.). It surprises me that I've beaten Hyperstone Hiest, and nearly beaten Turtles in Time...and I'm even more surprised I beat Splatterhouse 2 and 3. @.@

well, a little update. . . i am in the shredder level on normal (yes i kicked those monsters' butt, er, mikey did  ). i got to shredder with leo and raph, but little did i know that once you decide not to play with a certain turtle anymore and then switch, you can't go back to shredder instantly with the turtle that got there :( oh well.
and about the crystals, do they do anything or are they just there to collect? i know the combos have improved for each turtle, and am wondering if it is because of the crystals, or maybe points, or maybe i'm stupid and the combos didn't change at all :goofygri: (although i'm certain they did  )

I thought I heard that they unlock something for GameCube Version when linked together. And I don't know about the combo's. Someone else will help you.

When fighting one elite, special attack him just as he comes out on the left side (hold and release attack button). Then run back and forth (>,> and <,<) hitting him with the running attack as he teleports from side to side. If you're fast, he'll never get a shot off.
The same strategy basically works with the two elites, but you may do some jumping as well as they will have time to attack you.

Anyone notice that Shredders BG music is a remix of the old Shredder theme from the arcade game? I've also heard that his beam attack makes the sound of Super Shredder on TMNT III but I couldn't tell. Ah nostalgia...
I beat all the turtles levels on normal, and Shredder with Leonardo. I'm stuck on getting the crystals. I have 16 of them I believe but I can't find the rest. I noticed Mike had crystals on his vehicle level, does anyone else have it on theres? I didn't find any with Leo, Raph, or Don. Am I just not looking hard enough?
Also, are all of Raph's found on his first level? There doesn't seem to be a logical or even illogical place for there to be any on his other 3 levels.

yeah that's pretty much how i beat them. the weird thing was that i didn't have to sit there and think about this plan. when i saw the first one i just instinctively did this. i beat him quite easily and was kinda disapointed. when there's two you can do the same thing. just hit one of them until they disappear, then they will be on the same side always and you can treat them as one.
well, i beat shredder in normal with leo. i still have to find the crystals though. the good thing is i know where a couple of them are, but couldn't get them when i found them.
has anybody beaten the game completely yet?

I've got all of Mike and Raph's crystals but I have no clue where the rest of Leo and Don's are (I'm missing two for each of them).
Now after many tries I beat Shredder with Michaelangelo (he's actually pretty good against him once you get a rhythem down), but apparently it doesn't matter who you fight him with. You get the same code no matter what. I really was hoping for infinite Shurikan for Mikey (ah pooh gas!). Oh well, I've still got those last four crystals to track down.

If by completely you mean on the hard mode, then no. I have beat the normal setting with all the crystals. Playing the hard mode now, about 1/2 way thru. but it's less of a priority now that I've beat the game.
Ninja Tiptup:
All of the "vehicle" levels have crystals in them. Just keep destroying stuff.
Most of leo's crystals are in the first level in the sewer paths, try them all. (Even then one is super hard to find. Hint: before leaving any screen to advance to the next, wait a couple secs to see if more enemies appear...)

If you didn't notice before, Konami took a lot of "license" with the Notes from the Underground levels on both the GBA and console versions. Both have a bunch of added monsters which weren't ever said to be humans at some point. So no that is not Quarry you fight and the brown one isn't Stone Biter. They are just generic, but have similar looks. I believe all three (at least I know Razorfist is) are in the console game, but don't have the same origin (I think) and I don't believe that one guy who "helped" them is in the console game because he's not the boss of NftU. Can anyone who has finished that arc on the game clear this up please?

aren't those monsters the ones that the good monsters were scared of. you know, the mindless mutants that just attacked them so they needed that crystal force field to protect themselves.

Well if the scientist is controlling the creatures then they may not be the ones from the show.
Here's my question... Now that I've seen that they are loosely using the arc in the console question and they even use the footage (a bit chopped up) that shows the mutants breaking out. So why isn't that one guy in the abandoned city and why did they make a new animated sequence to explain why the turtles are in the underground?

SHREDDER FELT COLD STEEL!!!! :D
well i finally beat the game in hard. all i have to do now is get all the crystals and then i'll be officially done. i was up pretty late yesterday determined to destroy him with leo. i tried about 20 - 30 times but finally beat him. a few times i died when he had a millimeter of health left, but oh well. i hated those little shredders, but i found a sure fire way to beat them. all you have to do is run back and forth doing that attack. they will jump from the opposite side, but they will never hit you if you do it fast enough.
did anybody else kill shredder in hard . . . i'm wondering if i'm the first
