Now, don't get me wrong... it had a lot of cool ideas floating around and a lot of potential could have been tapped into to make it really interesting. But it was all executed so poorly (first off, it should have been animated) that it just turned the whole thing into a large pile of fecal matter.

Yeah, I voted TNM. Not saying it was a good incarnation, but I still recognized the potential in it. I know several things were just wrong about it, but I'd trade my last roll of TP for the complete series any day.

This is my own personal opinion. If anyone has a problem with it, well, tough. Nothing you or any of the mods can do can change it. Also notice that I never attacked anyone directly in any of my posts. Saying what I did in my last response wasn't a cold-blooded bashing; my 9th grade English teacher said something along those lines (she said "nose", however), but it wasn't to insult us, it was to inform us. I've been told that line more than once on here, so I think it's only fair that I "return the favor", but not in malice.

I picked TNM because, to be quite honest, it's what brought me back into loving the TMNT...permanently. There was a time in my life when I put the Turtles briefly aside and delved into the world of musical theater. I still collected the Archie comics religiously, but as far as anything else, their world was far from mine. Then, in early 1997 when Venus (Karen T.) told me in a snail mail letter (before I had the Internet) that the TMNT were making a comeback to television, I agreed with what she said. She wasn't sure whether to cheer or gag because we had already passed our TMNT stage and were into other things. But, my tune changed when the show aired. I watched and taped it every single Friday. It's one of my lesser favorites of the universes, but as far as I was concerned, it was TMNT and they were BACK! So, see, I never lost interest in them, but I guess I needed something to realize how much I love them!

And you know something else? We don't even buy that brand of toilet paper! So, there! :evilgrin:

I know you will all hate me but I loved Next Mutation sure it wasnt as good not even close to the muppets of jim hensons creature shop but to me as a tmnt collector and as a huge fan of everything tmnt this was a ray of sunshine in a dark world of nothingness....it's not very nice to bash those of us that liked the show...I was still a teen I think when the show cam out going to art school sure the show was corny shure the costumes were terrable(had to say it again) but it really did have its own little goofball charm that now after seeing this post and digging out my tapes and watching every episode I taped I've really realy liked this show allot more for some odd reason perhaps because I really wanted season 2 to come out where 1 of the main people dies casey jones and april were to come into the show raph was suposed to go onto his own adventures(which could have led into some bad ass adult tv raph show) the feds were also suposed to start hunting down the tmnt in the second season if only the show lasted longer I honestly believe it could have gotten so much better.....and I worked at toys r us when the toys came out and kids loved them they flew off the shelves as I was putting them out....it's a shame wick, Vami's lil vamp brats, Dragonlord 2, Dr. Quease(sp), and the many other planned toys for this line never came out....
being 23 now and watching this show again I really have to say I really love Dr. Quease and how donatello was so infatuated with him even though he was evil....simon bonesteal is a close secound for me and vami comes in third wick is my 4 fave but I dislike silver very much never really liked gangsters very much they called him an ape but I think in one episode he said he was a yeti or something *shruggs*....
but over all sure venus is dumb the tmnt looked bad (I don't see why so many of you liked the full masks in the comics and on the new toon and not on here but ok whatever sinks your boat)....but there were great things like I said once again and I'd love Dr. quease to be in the new show or perhaps as doc feral from the rpg books who i think he is based on......

Wellll even though TMNTNM was embaressing and sometimes compleatly irritable...it was still TMNT. I was even willing to give VENUS a chance. I even watched more than one episode, to give it a chance, before I finally said "this blows" stopped watching all together.

Besides, Charmin TP is just plain better.

Seriously though, the new toon represents the Turtles as they should have been all along. Don't get me wrong... I love the old toon. It was my childhood, and it's good for laughs. (not at it, more like for the humor. And the fact that it screams '80s :D) But I also love this one for its darker tone and awesome animation. Plus the fight choreography and the storyboarding... yeh. But it has in no wise failed. It would have "failed" if it had been cancelled by now. But 4 seasons and probably at least two more? That's "success." It may get as many seasons as the OT if we're lucky.

Yeah, the video games aren't all that... but I find them a fun diversion. A little optimism never hurt anyone. ;)
