I'm new. I hope no one minds if I post a thread.
Anyway, I'm a 22 year old student and I had to work at my part time job tonight. While there the mall had a trick or treat thing for the kiddies and I kept track of how many new little turtles came to the store. There were only three... two Leos and a Mikey. Just wondering if there were any older fans out there who kept track of how many little turtles came trick or treating this year?
Or, for the younger fans, how many of you went out as your favorite turtle this year? :)

My nephew went as Donnie. Those costumes are pretty nice, with the padded shell. I wouldn't let him take a bo though...he likes to hit people  .
I didn't see anyone else dressed as a turtle though, but I was at a friends house in an apratment complex so that could explain it.

My little brother went as Leo. He had two friends dress up ninja turtles too. A Don and Mike. I tried talking any of them into my favorite turtle, Raph, but their favorites held strong. Didn't see any others out there but very few people came to my house. For the past 12 years there have allways been tons of kids, but this year it really died. :goofygri:

I go to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Every year we have a big Halloween bash on Franklin Street (the main drag here). The police close off the entire street for three or four blocks, and everyone goes there in there costumes to walk around and have good time. It's a pretty big thing here, seeing as how 69,000 people attended last year even though this is a small town. I saw many TMNT costumes Friday night on Halloween. A lot of them were college guys that bought the new costumes in the stores and squeezed into them as best they could. I did see quite a few homemade costumes that I thought were pretty good. All in all, I bet I saw five or six complete groups of people dressed as the Turtles. I wasn't one of them because I went as Cobra Commander from GI Joe. I didn't do TMNT for three reasons: 1) I couldn't find three other people interested in doing it with me and 2) I try to do something original that no one else would do and 3) the police confiscate things such as swords and bos and anything else that could be considered a weapon. The past three years that I've been, there have been a bunch of people as Ninja Turtles, so I'd say TMNT are alive and well in Chapel Hill, NC as far as Halloween costumes go

cool relay.....I am on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus and I did not see one TMNT costume. You are very lucky to see college guys in TMNT costumes.

i saw one kid dressed as Donatello at our city's local Halloween in the Park, has apart of my college group Phi Theta Kappa i was assigned face painting duty that night. let me tell you this much, i met some really cute kids and had fun, and there was any quite a few kids dressed as some cute little critters! one little girl was even dressed as Wednesday Addams^-^
anyway, while i face painted (by the way, all the kids wanted me to paint their faces cause i was cool and knew more stuff than the others dingies) i got the chance to paint one kid's face to mach his already batman beyond costume. I loved that and to top off the evening, the kid wearing the Donatello costume wanted the his face painted and i asked him if he wished for a Donatello on his hand and i tell you what the kid's eyes lite up like fire. He knew i knew what he wanted and on his hand went a TMNT thanks in part to me!!!
yea, TMNT was alive n well my halloween eve!!!

Awwww.. that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. You made that kid very happy obviously.
Sorry I'm late, I'm kind of new to the forums and catching up on late topics. But as far as my Halloween went, NO and I mean NO trick or treaters came by my apartment. And the kids that live near me, they all go to different neighborhoods to Trick or Treat, and I didn't see no TMNT costumes. But, from other perspectives, Turtles are very much alive.
I'm a Senior in high school, and I know for a fact, that there are plenty of people that go to my school that either 1)remember the Turtles from childhood or 2)Have gotten back into liking them again.
Also, for our Homecoming week, we had like dress up days and all, and we didn't have anyone dress up as Turtles. So a girlfriend and I, for the pep rally day, had Turtles bandanas on our heads. (She had Orange for Mikey, and I had Purple for Donny). And then on "Blast from the Past" day, I went as the late 80s, early 90s, and I wore a Turtles' shirt, and even got good comments from teachers and administrators.
But my cutest tale would have to be like 2 weeks ago, when I went to Wal-Mart and got my Donatello action figure (which by the way, if anyone else has him at the moment, is it just my figure or doesn't he not like to stand up on his own. My Mikey figure stands up on its own, but not Don). Anyways, I was standing there, reading the back of the figure, when a little boy came by, who looked to be but only 5. And it was so cute, he was like "Lady miss, can you pwease get that Turtles car from the top sheleve?" I had to laugh so I helped him get it, and then here was the cutest comment, after he grabbed the toy from me, his mom walked up and started walking away with her, and I heard him say "Mommy, that lady was cool, cuz she liked Turtles like me" I just thought it was the cutest thing in the world. So there is my little story.
(which by the way, if anyone else has him at the moment, is it just my figure or doesn't he not like to stand up on his own. My Mikey figure stands up on its own, but not Don).
Psst, use his extra bo to help him balance. Put it in his belt holder and make him a tripod.

isn't it just the cutest thing? I swear, my kids will be into TMNT more than I will ever be. I guarantee it! Oh, and thanks for the tip Kali, I'll try and "tripod" Don tonight, that way, he stops falling off my entertainment center!
