There is an Ultimate Collection Volume 7?
Will be released Fall 2018 as far as I know.
The Mirage Fugitoid one-shot was also collected in the Utrom Empire trade IDW put out.
Thanks CyberCubed! I think this post is near the top enough that anyone looking for the one-shot will see the information.

... check if I have everything correct...
A minor error:
Classics Book 6 collects issues 42-44, not 41-43 as was originally solicited.
Here's a quick and dirty spreadsheet that I made up a couple years ago to help keep track of all this: Google Docs (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xx3sqmEzc_hJeHUGvstE8SvHoAuu5W4HFC1mB944o0o/edit?usp=sharing)
If it helps, great, if not, it was free. :D

I only have the first four Classics so far. I’ll fix that error and take a look at the spreadsheet. Thanks for pointing that out. :tsmile:

So just to confirm this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-Classics/dp/1684051606/ref=sr_1_27?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1521750624&sr=1-27&keywords=teenage+mutant+ninja+turtles is better than The Works and the normal Classics volumes as it collects both together and in order?
I just compared 49th Street Stompers in the Classics Vol 1 to the 25th Anniversary book and the coloring in the former is so much better. It has colour to it but still looks gritty. Not sure why IDW went the route they did but the colouring looks kind of flat.

It's my understanding this this is just a paperback version of The Works Volume 1. There's no indication that they'll integrate any of the TMNT Classics TPB volumes into this line, but I'll guess we'll find out when they solicit volume three. That's when the material would start to fold in.

Your link to the upcoming TMNT Color Classics, Vol. 1 seems to me to be the paperback version of The Works Vol 1. Ultimate Collection is also getting paperback release.
Only this new description says the book includes the Mikey one-shot. I think both The Works and Ultimate Collection have the Mikey one-shot in its Vol 2. The Classics do not have the Mikey issue at all.
So the new paperback edition has a slight difference in what’s being included. If the description is correct.
I’m not sure if we can say this new version collects everything previously released. Or is “better.” We don’t know that the new color paperback will eventually collect issues #22-#47. Unless I missed something.

Dr. Solar, thank you for that Google Doc! It’s exactly the format I needed to see. I guess it’s impossible to just buy one book and get everything. I understand, but it makes it very confusing.
Any plans to break down the other series?

There's no indication that they'll integrate any of the TMNT Classics TPB volumes into this line, but I'll guess we'll find out when they solicit volume three. That's when the material would start to fold in.If they're doing reprints of regular Volume 1 and an omnibus reprints of Tales of TMNT I'd be surprised if the 'Classics' weren't included in some form unless there's an omnibus coming up for those as well?

http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=58596Yeah thanks for the help guys. It does indeed on the surface look like The Works all over again in paperback form. For Volume 1 of The Works Amazon says it contains 308 pages while the upcoming paperback says 344. Doesn't look good if I want the guest star stories integrated into the regular stories.

Yeah, IDW as as well as the Image and Archie ones.

Yeah, IDW as as well as the Image and Archie ones.
Archie is already on the spreadsheet, in columns I-J. Easily overlooked if you didn't know that it was there.
Once IDW starts collecting Image, I'll add it to the list.
As for all the IDW series themselves... that gives me a headache. I've just been buying The Complete IDW series of hardcovers and hoping for the best. :P (I know that a couple of out of continuity issues have been dropped, but my OCD will let me live with that!)
But honestly, while the current comics are good, I've been a TMNT fan since 1987, and of the original comic since 1989, and Eastman and Laird Mirage is my one true TMNT comic. The others are good and I'll pick them up, but I'm really just here for the Mirage reprints.

I wish IDW would just group together the main comic stories and the guest star ones. Would make collecting them less confusing. :ohwell:

It's not that hard, Mirage just has Ultimate Collections, the Classic collections, and then the Tales collections. If you're specifically looking for Mirage, it's only 3 different series. And the Ultimate Collections are done.

It is kind of confusing still, though I have a better handle on it.
It's basically impossible to buy everything in publishing order from TMNT #1 on. I'm a stickler and I just want everything published in one nice, neat hardcover or trade. I understand the rights issues, but why include things published in between in later volumes. It messes with my brain.
IDW is even doing it. Their collections rearrange thing to their preferred "reading order" which I can appreciate, but it's not really my style. It's made me halt buying anything and just focus on other properties right now. Godzilla was really confusing, but at least what's been released isn't AS confusing.

They included the guest ones to give you more bang for your buck. They were also getting license stuff straight for a while. I don’t get why people are so confused.

Because stuff isn't released simply in publishing order.
CyberCubed
04-08-2018, 10:49 AM
It doesn't really need to be. Mirage wasn't a comic series where every issue had to be read in order like modern comics. Most of the guest issues are "fillers" that can be read at almost any point of the story.
Mr. Orange
04-08-2018, 10:53 AM
I understand that completely, but it's my preference that stuff be released in that format. They of course can choose to release it how they want, but it's up to me whether I decide to buy it or not.

And the Ultimate Collections are done.See that is confusing especially as some of those are being reprinted again with different page counts from the original reprint counts.
They included the guest ones to give you more bang for your buck. They were also getting license stuff straight for a while. I don’t get why people are so confused. They included the guest ones separately and are reprinting them again to add further confusion.
This may help then. That just tells me the order to read them in. That means having to go back and forth between paperbacks looking for a particular story. It should be all in one place in order of publication.

I get that a lot of comics and graphic novels are collected in this way in order to present in one solid form. But that’s not what I’m looking for, I’m just looking for every published issue collected in release order. They release so many different versions as it is, one option should be just straight up release order.
I realize I’m only complaining at this point, but it’s slightly annoying to me. It really doesn’t have to be this confusing.
