Ever have a thought, idea, or "headcanon" around TMNT that isn't worth starting up a new thread or necroposting, or just don't have anywhere else to put it?
Well, here's the place for you!
And as for a thought that's been buzzing around in my head...
I don't think the Utroms developed space travel and technology on their own.
Because of course that's the kind of topic that would come first in this thread.
As smart as they are, I think they would probably have been too busy just trying to stay alive to try doing anything even remotely related to creating advanced technology. Even the 'mining for ore' parts of it. Leatherhead has proven their size is a pretty enormous disadvantage when it comes to the predator game, so at least in early stages.
Instead, they focused on building a civilization around their own prey's migration patterns, basically just eating anything that comes out of the water, and paying close attention to the things that did. Sure, they could master fire and rudimentary tools, but they probably weren't at a point where they could go much further until a species with hands came to them. One that has already mastered space travel came to their planet in a Star Trek-ish space exploration mission. Neutrinos or D'Hoonibs depending on which version you want to work with.
When they realize that the Utroms could by taught particle physics and quantum, they did.
And did they ever learn.
They end up looking like they caused this situation.
T__UsjPFp4I
I'm not entirely sure of how the timeline of this would work, but it would probably be over several generations for sure. (If we still want to call bull on Utroms living for thousands and thousands of years - which I do.)

One thing that has always bothered me about tmnt in general is how Shredder and the Foot Clan still used traditional Ninja weapons in a city where the Police Officers and such have guns.
For the turtles I can understand since they were raised in a sewer, where Splinter didn't have access to the latest technology, but Shredder clearly has power within the city and control over gangs and such, so I expected him to be more than in a state where the cops could bust him in a moment's notice if they ever suspected something about that big building in New York City.
Not something that I had a problem with in the Original Cartoon, since laser guns were the norm and Bebop/Rocksteady were well armed enough to easily outmatch the police while the technodrome could destroy the entire U.S army by itself.

Someone understands me... :D All those little random things that don't get mentioned because it's just gonna get ignored anyhow. (Where is much of the playfulness in this fandom...)
Such as, as I wondered a while ago, if the TMNT could each have a regular real world vehicle, what makes/models would appeal/suit each of them? (PD movies type cars excluded.)
Raph's easy with the motorcycle, but besides that?
I could see Leo as a Jeep Wrangler kind of guy... tough and dependable, understated but awesome, and that it can be topless could be an asset for a guy with large weapons in a hurry who doesn't need to be slowed down by getting them and himself into the car.
Donnie I can't even begin to guess... but I'm sure he's added his own modifications.
For Mikey, maybe something with a similar vibe to the Wrangler; or also a Wrangler, but a bit more tricked out, "bikini" style top on nice days, and in a flashier color.

Mikey would totally be into sports cars
Until the day the comes when he crashes Splinter's personal favourite Porsche (don't ask me how he got it or drives it) and has to confess like a college student to his father.

Do you mean alcoholic drinks?
I never saw the turtles as drinking alcohol (forgive me Mirage fans :P) but I always assumed that they would down a fair amount of soda with their pizza.

I mean, if there was/were a drink that represented Michelangelo (for example), what drink would that be?
Would it be a root-beer float, a peach tea, or something else entirely?
IndigoErth

I assume by "at their best" this should not be about alcohol.
Leo, tea definitely. Maybe not an interesting answer since it's kind of a given, but he could certainly have a wide variety that he enjoys, both caffeinated and de-. (I'm sure the choice would vary depending on what he's up to. Bed time or before/after a workout in the dojo would surely be different choices.)
Donnie, maybe plain old water a lot of the time as he probably knows water is to the body as oil is to his machines. Except when it's coffee when pulling late nighter, or in the morning after said night. :P
Mikey... the soda and energy drink kid. Maybe BooKoo energy drink if you want a name brand.
Raph... it might vary by situation? Water when working out, a shot of 5-Hour Energy pre-battle?

Does Shredder have a conscience? In the 2003 series, Karai characterizes Saki in a fatherly light when she talks about how he took her under his wing. However, from what I recall, it becomes more apparent that he was mostly using her in order to carry out his plans.

There's a one-shot called something like You Had To Be There where we see Mike just...plastered, and wandering home from god knows where. He accidentally falls into a rift in time/space, and ends up nearly sacrificed to some random god by a woman in a chain mail bikini.
And then no one believes him.
So from that alone I'd imagine Mike wouldn't drink.
Raph's a beer guy. And not good beer. The glorified water kind that Casey drinks because it's cheap. Maybe some Jack Daniels.
I'd imagine Don's drink of choice has more caffeine than any beverage ought to.
If Leo drinks, he drinks the good stuff.

I had another idea that ties into something I've said before. I jokingly said that, like her Mirage counterpart, Fred Wolf April was a magic drawing (along with Channel 6 itself).
Now, you know how how the plot usually tied into whatever the hell Channel 6 reported on? Now, if April and Channel 6 are creations of Kirby's magic crystal, why not their news stories? Imagine if, after their creation, the crystal ended up in some science fiction author's typewriter. As they are created from the same source, one is drawn to the other, which is why Channel 6 was always there. Sure would explain why there's monsters and doomsday devices everywhere. It would also explain why everything is so repetative and cliché, as the writer has very little imagination and only writes for a paycheck.

One could argue that "Hun on the Run" kind of does show his feelings about Karai and how important she was to him. But, I think that if his love for her was a couple notches higher, he would have saved Karai himself.
It's not so much of Shredder having a conscience, especially in that version, but just not having a fully understood backstory and a "middle school-aged edge lord making their first OC"'s idea of psychopathy.

I think I've said this before and call me crazy but... I've always felt TMNT and Sailor Moon shared a few core similarities. Of course there's lots of differences between both, but I see some similarities:
- The main characters start off as teenagers. The girls in Sailor Moon are about 14-15 when the whole thing begins;
- Both properties start off as comic books, but they only become mainstream when their first animation series' come out;
- The first animated series of both properties still remain their most popular incarnations/peak of the properties popularity;
- The main characters differ a bit in personality in the first animated series compared to their source material. In the case of TMNT, Raphael is radically different in the FW series from Mirage Raph. In the case of Sailor Moon, Rei Hino/Sailor Mars is also pretty different in the 90s anime series from her manga version. In the manga she is serious, calm and collected and doesn't let any man get close to her, really. In the anime she is more hyper, temperamental and boy crazy. And also bickers with Usagi/Sailor Moon while in the manga they're fine with each other and Rei bickers with Minako/Venus instead... reminds me of Raph and Mike somewhat.
- Comparison between characters:
Donatello - Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury - Both are tech savy and nerds
Michelangelo - Minako Aino/Sailor Venus - Both are good fighters but also immature and love video games and are kinda airheaded/scatterbrained
Raphael - First anime version of Sailor Mars/Rei Hino - Both are kinda temperamental and. Rei is also a bit antisocial and distant in the manga just like Raph is in many versions.
Leonardo - Eh... tough one here. The leader of the group is Usagi/Moon and she certainly isn't similar to Leonardo. Minako/Venus technically qualifies as a leader as well and she's quite different from him as well. I guess Rei/Mars would be close considering she's the most stereotypically Japanese of the girls.
Ofc both properties are quite different overall and there's no such thing as perfect comparisons. I'm not saying they're carbon copies of each other by any means, but there's some similarities, imo.

I've had some thinking that Ch'rell's release from stasis has another possibility of disaster.
If he adores Krang as much as Ma'riell says he does, then he probably has a "sibling version" of that devotion toward her. So, there's quite the situation in how he'd deal with her deliberately keeping him in stasis, even if it's to prevent him from being charged with war crimes. And probably just not wanting to deal with the fallout of telling him the "bad news."

Yeah, I've wondered that for myself. Especially in the case that early on, he wouldn't have had access to any kind of cooking devices. Or anything to make their weapons.
In a sewer.
Where flames probably aren't the best thing to have around.
(I for one like to think that he had to steal a lot of things and rummage through garbage. But since a lot of these stories revolve around American "Ninja Honor", that probably wasn't the case"

Isn't it ironic that TMNT III, Michael Dooney's Mirage #46-47 Masks, and the Season 7 ep "Legend of Koji" all came out at roughly the same time?
Did everyone get the same idea to have the Turtles travel back in time to ancient Japan at the same time or something, or was this planned across 3 universes as a marketing type thing?

Are we even sure that "Masks" COULD have influenced TMNT 3? It came out less than a year before TMNT 3 came out... surely it would have already been filming about the time the second issue of it dropped, or already written for sure.

Here's all I could find via Google of Laird's notes on planning process for the 3rd live-action movie:
"How's this for an opening (or closing) scene for the second TMNT movie (maybe run under the credits): A garbage truck rumbles past the camera, heading for the landfill. It stops at the edge of a hill of refuse. The two sanitation engineers get out of the truck, and go around back to make sure the truck makes its dump properly. As the trash spills out, one of the guys sees something metallic glinting in the mess, and pulls it out. He holds it up, and in a medium closeup we see that it's the Shredder's helmet, crushed and twisted.
We [Kevin Eastman and I] both feel that the Shredder should not appear in the second TNT movie, but this might be a subtle enough way to refer to his ambiguous fate and set the scene for his appearance in a third TMNT movie (if that happens). . . .
(Note that this sets up a scenario in which the "Return to New York" story [as told by us in issues 19, 20 and 21 of TMNT] could be the basis of a third movie, involving the return and ultimate fate of the Shredder, and the mutated Triceraton's team-up with the Turtles to invade the Shredder's domain."
(from a May 1990 document)
http://peterlairdstmntblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/blast-from-past-483-thoughts-on-second.html
"I may have notes somewhere about this, but at this point I don't remember a lot. However, I seem to recall that the time-traveling to feudal Japan thing came up early in discussions, and was something we were all intrigued by."

[In regards to whether the plot of the movie was repurposed from some other genre]
"As far as I know, it was not. My understanding was that the script for that movie was created from the ground up, not from pre-existing material. However, there may be things I am not aware of regarding that."

I’ve seen people in Gargoyles fanfiction compair the Gargs to the Turtles. This normally happens in self insert fics where the author of the piece inserts themselves as characters in their own fic and encounter the Manhattan Clan. When that happens it one of two things occur.
The first is the Self insert character knowing the Gargoyles Clan on sight and saying “Oh yeah there is actually a cartoon about you guys” or they are compaired to the Ninja Turtles or both.
Both groups consist of all Males, there is a wise master type and four younger ones. A female friend who fights along side them and is at times used to bait them out. Another male friend who also becomes part of the group. And like later versions of the Turtles there is a female member of the team added, and evil clones of the main characters. Both groups have had people whose lives have been greatly and unfortunately altered either directly or indirectly because of the main characters so they blame everything that happened to them on group inquestion. Both groups have encountered villains that want to hurt them or the world around them because it gives them a sense of retribution. While in reality they are only authoring their own misery. Friends who become enemies and vice verse. Other villains who seek to use them for their own ends. And villains who seek to kill them just because they exist. Also both groups live in New York. And in the case of Bronx, Cagney, and Klunk/Ice Cream Kitty, Spike, and Chompy both groups have pets of some sort.
I believe Greg Weisman also was aware of the comparison between the Gargoyles and TMNT so he said something about the Gargs liking any sort of food except Pizza.
Personality wise I guess you can say Splinter and Hudson could relate since they are the old masters. They occasionally come on battles but most of the time sit in their respective lairs and watch TV or bits of wisdom.
Leonardo can be comparible to Goliath. As they both are leaders of their respective groups and do have a high value in honor towards ones family and the world around them. But I feel Goliath may find that Leo still does have a lot to learn about being a leader in some cases. Mainly because Leo is still young and at times pushes his beliefs on his brothers which causes them to not take his leadership seriously. Where as Goliath is older (He’s roughly in his 30/40’s in human years and was in his late teens to twenties when he was first appointed as leader.) and from another time.
Brooklyn I guess he could be comparible to Raph as they are both are wise cracking hot heads of their respective groups. And they have a think for motor I’d say that Brooklyn is closer to Leonardo in that he is placed in a position that he feels honored to be in. But he doubts how effective he actually is as a leader when he is actually in a leadership role after Goliath, Bronx, and Elisa disappear. Much like how Leo does occasionally doubt himself as a leader.
Broadway is close to Mikey in that they are the Chefs of their families. Broadway isn’t obsessed with food to the same extent Mikey is with Pizza. But both do have a well meaning hearts and are less narrow minded then their companions about some things.
Lexington would is kinda like Donatello in that they are both the tech wizards of the group. And the others do depend on them both to bypass security or come up with solutions to problems with electronics. Though Lexington isn’t really a genius in the same way that Donnie is. Lex is also the youngest member of the Gargoyles and as such has his moments where he isn’t taken seriously by his rookery brothers. So that could be something he can sympathize with Mikey.
But his youth does make him rather nieve (After all New Friend Old Enemy was almost a beat for beat copy of Thrill of the Hunt) though unlike Mikey he does let his grudges against people get to him.

I still want Stockman and Xanatos to briefly team up, only to back stab each other. Because that's how they roll.
Also Demona and Krang or Ch'rell depending on the version, but that would probably go even uglier.
Leatherhead really, really depends on the version, but I guess the closest parallel might be Macbeth. And THAT would be quite a ride.

Maybe Sevarius and Stockman joining forces. Demona may join forces with the Shredder, but only so she can get her hands on utrom/Kraang tech. And Shredder may use her for her gifts in magic. But both intend to kill one another once they no longer serve a purpose.
Xanatos I see working more with Bishop, but it depends more on what point in the story. After all Xanatos only brought the Gargoyles back to see if the spell worked and then he wanted them as his personal army. When they rebelled he built the steal clan to replace them. Then after the gargoyles left the castle for the clock tower, Xanatos didn’t really want to destroy the gargoyles. Yes, he would try to kill them because they got in his way of his desires for immortatlity. But more often then not he used them for his own purposes.
Bishop was the same way in that he was willing to sacrifice the Turtles in his desires to protect the earth from alien threats. But he is more open to using them for his purposes then openly destroying them. And then later in the future he sort of feels he owes the Turtles as an apology for all he has done to them.
Leatherhead is hard to say. I mean yeah I can see Macbeth in that Macbeth is only enemies with the Gargoyles since he is after Demona because he can’t die unless the two of them die at each others hands. But later realizes the Gargoyle’s aren’t his foes and that he is better off helping them. I’d say Leatherhead is more like the mutates.
Leatherhead in the FW version isn’t really a bad guy, but he isn’t good either. The only side he’s really on is his own side.
the 4Kids version is an intellectual like Donnie, but he was raised by the Utroms. When the Utroms left he felt abandoned by his family. Then when he met the Turtles he felt he had people he could trust and see as a family again, unfortunately he had already met Stockman who tells him that the Turtles are the people who made the Utroms go away. This causes him to feel betrayed and he attacks the Turtles until Stockman mistakenly admits he is associated with the Shredder. Then at some point Leatherhead is found by Bishop and tortured simply because he is a mutant and because of this he goes into fugue states where he blindly attacks anyone around him.
Nick Leatherhead was mutated and tortured by the Kraang, as such he goes into Fugue states that make him too dangerous to have in the lair. But later learns to control his anger as he gains companionship with the other Mutanimals.
Talon was originally Elisa Maza’s younger brother Derek . At first he is aware of the Gargoyles thanks to Xanatos. He’s not their friend yet, but he still doesn’t take Elisa’s warnings that Xanatos is evil incarnate seriously. He is then given a syrum that will make him into a mutant panther/bat thing. The gargoyles attack to rescue one of the mutates Maggy Reed, later named Maggy the Cat because Brooklyn got a crush on her. During the rescue Goliath allegidly kills Savarius on accident. Derek blames the gargoyles for his mutation because Savarius was the only person who could cure it. Because of his mutation he takes on the sobriquet of Talon. Later he learns Savarius’s death was faked and that the Gargoyles weren’t his enemy. Because of this he gathers his fellow mutates and create their own clan down in an abandoned subway.
Fang is similar to Slash in that he uses his new mutant form to bully and show dominance towards the people in the labyrinth. He is defeated and imprisioned. He later teams up with Damona and Thalog but is defeated again though he does appear again in a SLG Comic called Bad Guys-redemption. In this comic he is part of a group of former villains called the Redemption Squad.
Much like Slash used his new mutant form to attack and attempt to kill Raph’s brothers so Raph wouldn’t be hindered by them anymore. Raph at first likes the idea of Slash as a mutate, but when he realizes that his former pet intends to harm his brothers Raph turns against him. Later Slash joins forces with the Nutralizer against the Kraang but then realizes that he didn’t intend to destroy just the Kraang. Later he joins forces with the Mutanimals as a redemption squad of his own.
Much like the Gargoyles and Labyrinth Clan (the Mutates and the clones of the Manhattan clan) The Turtles and Mutanimals are aware and tollerent of each other. But don’t really go out of their way to associate with one another.

Way back when the first Nick animated series was announced, 2011 or 2012, I remember reading something (that I think was a news source, as opposed to a blog) that said Donatello would have a pet Mouser named Mickey. I was really excited by the idea of it, that Donnie re-programmed one of Baxter's havoc-wreaking robots into a little buddy. I imagined him assisting Donnie in the lab, & behaving puppy-like around the lair. It never came to be & I always wondered why it was scrapped.
I can find no proof that this concept ever existed outside of my own brain, which leads me to wonder if I didn't just dream it up or something. If so, I totally need to make a fan-comic out of it, 'cause I still love the idea. :tlol:

How old do the Fred Wolf fans have to get before nobody cares about that show anymore? Most of them are pushing 40 now. It's weird that an arguable majority of the TMNT fanbase still cling to an old toy commercial. I don't think there's any Justice League fans still proclaiming their love of Superfriends above all other versions.

I guess because the FW series was massive in its height of popularity and wasn't just another popular cartoon series among many others, meaning it was a huge part of many people's childhoods. But yeah, it's a bit odd how so many who cling to it haven't actually seen the show in ages and remember it so badly. It's like many remember it as being an action packed show-
Older DBZ fans also still rave about DBZ, for example.

Superfriends wasn't marketed that much. It debuted in 1973, and between 1946-1973 the rules for advertising toys to children with animated TV series were strict even in the USA (but not as strict as in Sweden).

I've seen fans of the show of all ages. From kids who were introduced to tmnt by the Nick series and saw the 80s show online to 40+ year old adults who only have vague yet fond memories of it.
I don't think its fans will die out anytime soon due to the aftermath of turtlemania still being felt today and the easy ways to access the show online (not anymore on Youtube, but at one point, I remember certain season 3 episodes having millions of views). I'm pretty sure that Superfriends also has a sizable number of fans today.

The thing is the original cartoon cemented itself in pop culture like everything elses "first" iteration that overshadows everything else:
Pokemon: The original 151 pokemon or Kanto...despite there now being 7 generations of the games and anime
Batman: The 1960's Batman Adam West show and then Batman:TAS, despite both being old as hell now they overshadow everything else.
Power Rangers: The first series in the U.S.
Dragonball: Dragonball and DBZ...Super or future series will never make the same impact as Toriyama's run to the end of the manga
Star Wars: The orginal Star Wars trilogy. Look at the hate the prequels or new movies get.
Star Trek: The original series with Kirk/Spock/MCcoy and to a lesser extent The Next generation overshadow everything else
I mean this is just how it is. Any popular long lasting franchise that goes on for generations, whatever the first or biggest iteration was will overshadow everything else. I don't like it either but that's just how it is. For TMNT, the original cartoon just has more public eye than the Mirage comics and then the next 3 cartoons.

Yeah but nobody's really calling the JLA "Super Friends" anymore, you know?
I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll find some guy who thinks "Fred and Barney meet the Thing" to be the greatest Marvel cartoon of all time, it's just not typical. It's really just a question of time and momentary popularity.
As far as I can tell, most fans of the Fred Wolf cartoon are still the 33-40 year olds who grew up with it. Anyone else seem to be a minority consisting of their kids and people randomly deciding to watch it. That's not really the weird part, it's that new fans brought in by other stuff don't seem as vocal.
Either the TMNT fanbase mostly consists quiet people who aren't active on forums, or it really is mostly of middle aged men talking about how awesome their childhood fad was. It's really odd that most haven't moved on to Mirage or IDW, like how kids start by watching Spider-Man cartoons but move onto Spider-Man comics if they're still fans when they're older.

Except that's not really true either. Adam West Batman is largely regarded as a joke, Batman TAS can't really be seen as the "first" in any capicity and Dragon Ball Super just ended this year.
And if being "the first" grants something some magic pop culture status, how come it's not true for the Batman film serials? Or the original Wizard of Oz movie? Or the Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man movie? There's probably a lot of other examples out there.

How can any of the Turtles espessally Mikey eat as much pizza as they do without getting type 2 diabeaties. I mean we occasionally see them eat other things, but most of the time it’s pizza or pizza equivalents.
If the Turtles had any foods that they enjoy eating that isn’t pizza what would it be?
For me this is what think
Leonardo
Breakfast: Oatmeal-Simple to make and can last several days
Lunch: Largest meal of the day for him so maybe Eggs in a Basket (Toast with a fried egg cooked in the center) A side of bacon or sausage and fruit.
Dinner: Salad with light dressing,
Donnie: Not someone you want in the kitchen. Not because he can’t follow a recipe properly. More because he can get distracted by whatever he is working on and by the time he remembers what is on the stove or in the oven it’s already a charred mess or has nearly set the lair on fire.
Breakfast: Toast-quick and simple
Lunch: Sandwich-something that is east to fix and he can take it to the lab with him.
Dinner: Cockpot meal- Something that Donnie could put together in the morning and just leave alone. Then by the time he’s ready for dinner its ready to serve up.
Raph: Again likely not someone you want in the kitchen. Patience isn’t his strong suit so he would more likely over cook something or not cook it enough when he wants something to eat
Breakfast: Cereal, slightly runny scrambled eggs, toast, juice.
Lunch: burger, frings
Dinner: leftovers
Mikey:
Breakfast: Sugary cereal, pancakes or waffles, toast, breakfast pastries, Orange juice, Fried eggs
Lunch: Ramen
Dinner: Ramen

That's not really the weird part, it's that new fans brought in by other stuff don't seem as vocal.
Could partly be a factor that it just didn't have any competition at all back then (with Mirage being for a more mature audience and unknown to most kids) compared to having other newer TMNT options today AND a much larger cartoon market in general with far more channels, on demand, and online/streaming options, that newer fans have to choose from. Made today it might not be anything to rave about, but it was novel back then and beloved in its time and remains so because of it.
It's really odd that most haven't moved on to Mirage or IDW
May partly just be that not everyone is the comic type.
I fully intend on doing Mirage at some point (already have a collected volume 1 I haven't yet dug into), but comics as a concept have never really been my thing. I've enjoyed some of what I've come across online now and then, but I admit that if it goes off for too long on non-Turtle characters it starts to lose me.

If lunch is Leo's biggest meal like mine and given the kind of stuff he might be into, I suggest for him one of my quick easy ones:
Bag of mixed veggies, the kind steamable in-bag in microwave for abt 6 min, plus these or similar noodles by them (or similar substitute) heated for 1.5 min in microwave...

I agree on Don being more of a sandwich person. Unless he pops some bread in a toaster for heat and crunch, he might just be happy with cold cuts, cheese, and whatever veggies he can cut up and add.
Mike strikes me as the "master of the kitchen" - the kind that would chase his brothers away from the stove if they tried to snitch bacon off the drying plate before the meal was done - so he'd make more than enough stuff for everyone to have through the day.

Well, he IS canonically the one who cooks most of their meals. Even mentions it in the TMNT rpg book.
(Which I now proudly own and plan to run a game out of at some point.)
As for the fans debate, What Cubed said is largely true. It WAS the biggest, most well-known, and "earliest" version for a VERY long time, and yes, that makes a huge difference. It was also the ONLY one outside the comics (movie trilogy aside) for many years, too. So naturally it fills a larger role in the fandom. Not only that, but it was what STARTED the Turtlemania craze to begin with. It is what people remember, so that is why so many are so vocal in their fondness of it.
For the record, the original Wizard of Oz movie DID have much the same role/impact, both for its time and even now, as a "family classic". And yes, Batman TAS was the "first" in the sense that it came right on the heels of the Burton film, so it was riding the popularity of it, since it had much the same tone and look but in animated form. It had a huge audience and was considered a game-changer for animation at the time.

Really? Nobody I know even knows/remembers the original Wizard of Oz. Or the first remake. Or the second. It's all about the '39 version.
Unless there is an earlier version I'm unaware of, the 39 film IS the "original". The other Oz films were all sequels or prequels. "Ozma of Oz", "Return to Oz", and "Oz the Great and Powerful" to name the main ones, all of which were loosely connected to it in some way, either as "direct sequels", implied sequels or prequels, or a combination. "Wicked" is a remake/prequel as well. But the Judy Garland movie IS the definitive one, given that it was a ground- breaker for its time (first movie to use both black and white/Technicolor) and was basically the first movie adaptation of the book(s). There are various animated, full musical(most of which are based on the 39 one to some degree), and/or stage adaptations, (The Wiz comes to mind), but they all came much later.

Maybe Splinter can fill in for Auntie Em. She doesn't have much involvement (but often neither does he), but she's presumably Dorthy's guardian and her the link to home, turning up in the crystal ball as Splinter has in visions.
Or Bishop as the Wizard? He's pretty damn unpredictable and manipulative in most cases and hard to know what side he's on, if he's being friend or foe.

I think Professor Honeycutt would be the ideal option. Not necessarily in the "charlatan" aspect, but in his struggle to dodge around severe problems and not address them until it's almost too late.
They share a particular spectrum of cowardice - that being hiding from persons who look toward him for knowledge and going into hiding to avoid particular enemies. But still owning up to that what he did was a terrible mistake, and is capable of imparting wisdom to those he thinks deserves it.
I think his speech patterns are more suited to a "Wizard" as well.
There's also the shared "professor" title from the 1939 movie - relating to Professor Marvel, who Dorothy met when she was running away from home.

It was great and I am not gonna lie that I absolutely love fast food, but I would never buy it nowdays solely due to the price. If memory serves, its actually more like a handheld piston/jackjammer type of thing. You pull a trigger and it "hammers" into the head with a rod. Not exactly a pleasant thought, but humane enough, as far as it goes. Usually instant death, though I've heard stories where the animal moves suddenly and it misses the killspot.

It wasn't a gun, but a large tranquilizier which was meant to shoot them in the head and render them unconscious after which they would be slaughtered.
I didn't really feel bad, having been become desensitized to it (since I had seen alot of slaughters even as a kid), but it definetly isn't somehing I'd recommend to the faint of heart.

Depends on the livestock and how "big" we want it. Steers for the butcher often go between 1 1/2 to 2 yrs, while milk cows don't get eaten until too old to produce- somewhere between 12-15 yrs. Some are used strictly for breeding, and not sold for food until they can no longer breed, again between 12-15. Pigs can be 4-5 before eaten, sheep about a year or so, unless raised mainly fo wool, then not until old. It's useful to have parents raising cattle. Learn a lot about the industry....

Since that tends to be the way it's depicted, at least the Turtles were probably too young to remember years later. Feel bad for the version of Yoshi that turns into Splinter though... he'd certainly recall it, and then deal with four unusual babies on top of dealing with his own experience. That's one tough guy.

Yeah, would make more sense for it to require more than that.
UNLESS it's very easily absorbed by the skin and ends up right into the bloodstream; toxic/potent enough that only a small amount is all it takes. (There are certainly real world substances that are a skin absorption risk.)
Although a varying amount having a different degree of influence in some regard would be interesting. Mutating some beings more extremely than others. And how it might play out slightly differently from one individual to the next in general. Possibly also in terms of mental state - *cough* Raph.
Utrommaniac
05-04-2018, 02:00 AM
Oh, yeah! And that would probably make his relationship with the turtles all the more intimate, since they've shared the same kind of suffering.
One thing I have realized in the "Splinter was Yoshi's pet" idea is:
What if all of the weapons they had on hand were Yoshi's? There's the problem of having to sharpen and maintain the weapons, but at least they wouldn't have to make them from scratch.
That would probably even give them more incentive to be more selective with them, given that they'd be considered family heirlooms. Maybe not to the point of TMNT 3 silliness. There's no replacing those particular weapons, so extreme care would be a necessity. So...that would probably mean more knocking out lights, shimmying up a wall...and knocking out a different set of lights :P .
I mostly think of this in my concept where Yoshi was able to actually teach Splinter, due to his participation in TCRI experimentation in mutation. And following his death, Splinter was able to recover a good number of the weapons before going into hiding.
MsMarvelDuckie
05-04-2018, 09:25 AM
I've considered the possibility regarding the weapons myself on occasion, as that seems to make the most sense. In most cases where Splinter was a pet, it would seem he mutated soon enough after Yoshi's death that his master might not have veen missed tyet, so he could probably go back and get anything he might want or need, including the weapons. If he was Yoshi turned to Splinter, he would have had easy access for as long as he needed.

I think that was implied in Secret History of the Foot Clan. When they assumed Shredder was 'the Dragon Lord' (which now we know isn't the case...for now at least).
And as I descend into how the Utrom military even functions in IDW, I realized...shouldn't Montuoro, as a Commander, be Lieutenant Kleve's superior officer rather than the other way around?
I would guess now that they don't have a "Brigadier" rank, skipping four or five ranks from Colonel straight to General. Which doesn't seem efficient. There are plenty of ranks that could have been used if Ch'rell were to be working as close to Krang as possible (as a Lieutenant General or Brigadier). My guess is that "colonel" sounded cooler.

Batman 66 wasn't regarded as a joke until the dark grim'n gritty revival of Batman, before that Adam West's potrayal defined what Batman was.Correct, although that seems lost today on some people.
How old do the Fred Wolf fans have to get before nobody cares about that show anymore? Most of them are pushing 40 now. It's weird that an arguable majority of the TMNT fanbase still cling to an old toy commercial. I don't think there's any Justice League fans still proclaiming their love of Superfriends above all other versions.Well it's a big cartoon series from the 80s and 90s so why wouldn't people remember it? Plus it transcends generations. Why do kids today love watching Scooby-Doo cartoons from the 70s? Who do kids today love watching animated movies like Beauty and the Beast or The Jungle Book? Just middle aged people right? I'm sorry dude but I always find that view of your offensive and ignorant. Man I can't believe TMNT is 34 years old now. And to think TMNT is one of the most "recent" popular comic book franchises. Especially when you realize most popular DC characters are from the 1930's-1940's, and most of the popular Marvel superheroes were all created in the 1960's.
TMNT didn't come till the mid 80's, decades after all the big DC/Marvel superheroes were around. It feels like TMNT was always the underdog because it was owned by Mirage and thus rather obscure compared to everything DC and Marvel has.
Our precious little TMNT franchise has grown up. The "diamond in the ruff." The outlier. They might as well change the name to, "Middle age mutant ninja turtles" now.
Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Well for an underdog they certainly have staying power. They'll easily make it to 50, no doubt even 60. They're timeless enough it wouldn't surprise me at all if they make it to 100, but most of us won't get to see that.
This is the reason ghosts need to be a thing, so I can stick around to see it! :tlol:
Also, love the art Kevin posted. :D

We all know Mike likes comics. But I personally think that he's much more expansive than issue-to-issue things. He'd want to get his hands on the classics and could write paragraphs upon paragraphs on Bruce Wayne's psychology compared to Tony Stark's. He will read the things that his brothers read, but usually in comic form. He strikes me as being a visual learner, and thus takes in stories better in comic form. And if something's missing from a particular adaptation, he'll either find it in another or one of his brothers will fill him in.
Leo would be more of a 'classical literature' from across multiple regions. And I'm talking REALLY classical. Homeric poems, Beowulf, Journey to the West, Gilgamesh. Those kinds of things.
Don might like classic sci-fi, especially classics like the John Carter books and others from that period of writing. And War of the Worlds. Of course, he might never look at his Utrom compatriots the same way again (maybe even tease them by suggesting they make a Tripod walker for a costume, then regret it when Glurin actually does it.).
Raphael will insist he doesn't like books while frantically hiding his Charles Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe, and Jane Eyre under the floor boards.

I don't know why, but I've always run with the idea that Raph isn't so much a reader, because he's kind of slow at it. Maybe possibly a touch of dyslexia.
That said...I could see Raph really getting into audiobooks.
Something to listen to while he's doing something else.
Where as I can see Leo using literature like Tyrion on Game of Thrones.
"A mind needs a book like a sword needs a whetstone."
I think Mike prefers fiction to non-fiction, though I can see him really loving a good biography. Mostly because in my mind he's just so fascinated and in love with people in general.
Don likes hard sci-fi, but I have a feeling his library looks a bit like mine.
ie: mostly looking like a collection of other people's dissertations.

Canon favourite books from the old ninjaturtles.com
Leo: On the Art of War - Sun Tzu (孫子兵法/The Art of War)
Don: A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking
Raph: Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton
Mike: In the Night Kitchen - Maurice Sendak, Tuesday - David Wiesner, The Polar Express - Chris Van Allsburg
Venus: Winnie the Pooh - A. A. Milne
BONUS
Splinter: The Chrysanthemum and the Sword - Ruth Benedict
April: (favourite author, not specific book) - Robert Fulghum
Casey: Mike Hammer series
Shredder: Thinks books are mindless drivel
Krang: Seven Ways to Prepare Quarg Rat Pie and Other Mouthwatering Recipes - Zoover Hunklethrop
Rocksteady: War and Peace (uses it as a doorstop)
Bebop: Books give him a headache
Dragon Lord had yet to write his favourite book
Mondo: J. R. R. Tolkien (another fave author and not a specific book)
Leatherhead: Yertle the Turtle - Dr. Seuss
Wingnut & Screwloose: Dracula - Bram Stoker
Wyrm: Worm and Pieces (sounds like a War and Peace parody)
Ray Fillet: Moby Dick - Herman Melville
Rat King: Food of the Gods - H.G. Wells
Slash doesn't know what books are
Tattoo: The Chihuahua - E. Ruth Terry
Merdude: The Odyssey - Homer
Dreadmon: A Rasta's Pilgrimage - Neville Garrick
Jagwar: Chamalu: The Shamanic Way of the Heart - Luis Espinoza
Now obviously these are based on the weird Next Mutation/Adventures fusion versions of the characters that the site ran profiles on, and other incarnations would probably be into different stuff, but I feel like these should be a good idea of what those characters like.

It's pretty funny how both Shredders are just so melodramatic and having no chill. Maybe because they're hungry?
I'd think Ch'rell would be pretty scholarly (maybe also favoring Sun Tsu), but the fact that there are no nicknames is probably the funniest thing about his profile. Bruh, you have like, five additional names in addition to your given one.
FW Shredder would be the biggest bookworm of all the Shredders. Especially considering that his first choice of career was to be a writer. He'd totally have an armchair next to a fireplace and ramble about classical literature motifs ala Masterpiece Theater. Mostly to annoy Krang, but also to stretch his mind on the dream he left.

Considering how long he was around in Japan, he (and probably the other Utroms) would definitely have seen a great deal of change in the world of literature. Especially while Japan was trading exclusively with the Dutch, which would have brought in European writings.
And given the time period in which haikus were first becoming a big deal...he probably would have read a lot of that as well.
All of his tastes in literature would probably explain his style of monologuing.

Not something that I had a problem with in the Original Cartoon, since laser guns were the norm and Bebop/Rocksteady were well armed enough to easily outmatch the police while the technodrome could destroy the entire U.S army by itself.
I have an in-universe theory here.
Rayguns don't exist on Earth when the original series begins, except inside the Technodrome. But following the fights between the turtles and Shredder's and Krang's forces during seasons 1 and 2, several rayguns are broken and left on the streets of New York City.
Gangsters later gets access to them (with or without Shredder's assistance) and finally even the local police begins to use them.

Winnie the Poo for Venus? Huh. Random... Not to knock Winnie the Poo, but they could have tried a little harder on choosing something for her that seemed more her. Maybe she was a slightly dopey character, but she still seems the sort that would be interested in stories with a bit of girl power.
For Leo, I wish they'd have included a novel as well, but some great suggestions have already been made here. :) Side note, I do own a copy of his fave... admittedly because of him. Isn't it funny how each TMNT era is set in the real world time period it took place in? So it's like each TMNT series is a period piece.
Like the original cartoon was set in the late 80's and early 90's, so the Turtles went to video rental stores with VHS tapes, they watched shows on an old beat up 80's TV, the only technology was futuristic sci-fi stuff that didn't exist in the real world at the time. You see payphones on the streets. Then in the last seasons April discovers "the internet" in 1995/1996 because it was a new thing that never existed prior.
The 2k3 series started in well....2003....and it's also a nice time piece of the early/mid 2000's. The Turtles have cell phones, technology is around 2003-2008 era tech, the Turtles watch DVDs and Mikey listens to music CD's, etc. They called their communicators "Shell Cells" because early cell phones existed back then. It's nostalgic looking back now.
Then Nick's show began in 2012, so their Turtle com's were T-phones, April had a laptop, they looked at blogs and internet posts online, Hamato Yoshi and Saki's backstory seemed to be moved up to the late 90's in order to fit with the 15 years later to 2012, etc.
Man it's just so great. Each TMNT cartoon feels like a time history piece of the real world at the time. It'll be the same for Rise in 2018.

I guess the turtles will watch mostly streaming services like Netflix in "Rise of the TMNT", not traditional TV.
How will Rise feel all that different from 2012 when it comes to "era", things haven't changed all that much since 2012.
The OT did represent two different eras in only one show.
What I like about the different eras is since the turtles are so sci-fi heavy and "under the radar" that they fit right in with modern eras that other heroes like Marvel/DC dont.

Well yeah I think that's part of why I never "got" podcasts. They're talk radio, which I never was fond of to begin with, but on super niche subjects. And they're usually sooo long about noootthiiing. The hosts always run out of topics early on and keep on for a while (sometimes upwards of 2 hours) and still have a series? HOWWWWW

As for podcast, the ones I enjoy the most are in field with a nearly unlimited amount of subject matter.

All things considered in the "Mask Debate", has anyone considered that it might make sense if they just had multiple masks for varied situations?
Maybe white masks for daytime blending, dark blue/black for night blending, red for "can't hide in the situation we're anyway, so might as well just look identical", and individual for peaceful meetups with comrades. With Raphael keeping the red mask because he likes it.
Then when they're at home, they just don't wear the masks at all because they can tell each other apart just fine. Maybe they'll wear them to help frequent visitors to clue into their individual features while starting with a "guide", until they're able to tell them apart without masks. Basically, they'd just be for the sake of new friends, and only temporarily. Unless they're something like Mirage/2003 Utroms who absolutely have to be good at telling things apart by minuscule details because they're virtually identical.

It's not really something I thought of. Probably something that they could translate from martial arts really easily. Which probably means one of them is secretly into ballet.
I was just thinking about all the trends of April not being entirely human. Specifically being half-alien. I figured that if I had the option, I'd make her half Neutrino. First it would give a lot more room to be more creative with her hair. Second because it would probably be a lot easier to get around than being half Kraang/Utrom. If it has to be a missing parent, I'll just...make it the dad this time. But not, he'd probably just have some masking technology to cover up his ears. His genetic information probably won't be looked at closely enough for anyone to realize he's an alien. Thus he doesn't participate in 23&me type programs or talk about his family much.

If you're involved in life and death situations like they often are, for sake of your own survival it would be imperative that you keep your vision unobscured if getting sweat in your eyes might sting. Makes perfect sense to me.

Ooh, I really like that idea about April's parents! Neutrino mom (or dad) would actually make sense if we want to go with the "April has psychic powers" route. I mean, in the OT, Neutrino babies had incredibly strong psychic abilities that faded over time, but what if one were crossed with a human- maybe the child would keep them? For that matter, it could end up like the Starchild, and grow stronger. But it makes for some awesome story potential.

Well, we've already seen them dance in multiple incarnations, and they all invariably seem to gravitate to breakdance or hip-hop styles. Street dancing, for sure, though I can see Leo also doing some ballroom or tai-chi (which resembles a dance in many ways) and Mikey might enjoy Latin style (tango, flamenco, cha-cha) or other ethnic styles like traditional Celtic or Jewish dances. Raph probably won't outside of hip-hop or break, but Donnie might try a little of everything, maybe interpretive as a creative outlet.

I'm kind of surprised that 2k12!April (and, to a somewhat greater extent, Irma) never even got dress coded.
Usually, schools are pretty strict when it comes to clothing, and certain individuals are usually (and heavily) reprimanded for even the slightest infraction. Young women would always get unfairly berated for donning so called "inappropriate clothing". For April and Irma to wear micro shorts and mini skirts respectively, while they walk around school, AND avoid getting scrutinized in any way ... just wow. Dunno where you're from to have experienced dress-code issues, but to my understanding, most schools really aren't that high-strung about attire. You hear all these stories in the media about girls getting crap over certain kinds of tops or whatever, but I get the impression that's just conservative areas being sensationalized. I dunno. I was a part of the public school system in New York (where the cartoon obviously took place) & I saw girls wearing much more revealing attire than those two characters (& guys wearing tees with controversial imagery/phrases on them, too). April had leggings on anyway, it's not like she was putting on a skin show.

Hmm... just trolling, just know-it-all-ing, or just creeping around high schools and checking out what the girls wear these days.......? Yes, I would think someone with more recent experience of High School would know what it was like in her school/school district/town.
Yeah... I don't live in a conservative area, but there was still always a dress code. Which doesn't appear to have changed much, esp as many of the schools around here have in fact moved to school uniforms.
Granted I'm "old," but back then Irma probably wouldn't have gotten away with her skirt being that short, and I doubt she would now. April is questionable... some of my teachers, esp the younger ones, might have looked past it since she's wearing leggings, though others may have still objected to the fact that they're short-shorts. Which were not allowed, probably still aren't, and the leggings may have been seen as just a way of trying to get away with them against the rules.
Hell, even I got some teacher once trying to make some point about the length and decided to point out the shorts I was wearing (thanks, pick the shy, quiet girl!) because they weren't close enough to the knee. I was not one to try to dress revealing and they were not short-shorts, but having long legs I was kind of a disadvantage compared to shorter people.
But I did the best I could do with what was in the stores back then. I mean, you just try finding girl's Juniors dept shorts that come down far enough. Was always tough back then and I'm sure it probably still is. They carry what's trendy that the girl will like, but not necessarily what's right for school. And what teen wants to shop in the other women's departments if the stuff feels too old...

Is this being serious? I live in New York and girls wore short shorts, skirts (as long as they weren't too short), and tank tops all the time.
I mean I find this bizarre, people think Nick April's outfit was innappropiate? You do realize the Nick execs had to approve that design before Ciro put it into the show and they saw nothing wrong with it, right? Even if April wasn't wearing those leggings and just had the shorts, it likely would have been fine.
Goodness, characters in other children's TV shows wear much less than that. Hell, even the Pokemon anime has all its girls wearing less or more revealing clothing.

Also bizarre that you think that your city, or at least your part of your city, is an example of the rest of the entire country.
Suggestion... see if the school districts in question have their dress code listed online and see what they actually say.
And yes, everyone knows that cartoon characters often tend to provide an unrealistic example.

Yup... Has not changed much. And now I remember that the length rule was the fingertips and still is.
And going by this, April would get reprimanded as the info after it suggested. Seeing as how "garments worn over stretch pants" must STILL reach the fingertips. Unlike her little shorts.

The whole point is many High school girls worldwide dress like that unless they're school uniforms or mandated outfits. This is the first time I'm hearing people say Nick April's outfit is not appropriate since 2012 when her design was revealed.
She's wearing normal shorts, and then has leggings or pants or whatever those are under them. Even if she weren't wearing those the shorts are fine. And Irma (ignoring the fact that it was a robot)'s skirt is short? What the hell? Even Velma from Scooby Doo wears a shorter skirt.

Um, no, she's really not. Those are clearly what some would call "Daisy Dukes" after the short shorts worn by that character in Dukes of Hazzard. Which are NOT permitted in MOST school dress codes I've ever heard of. Believe it or not, a strict dress code is the norm in most of the country, for reasons of health and distraction. Our own dress code- halfway across the country from Indigo, I might add- was much tbe same. And still is. Schools do not care if it is "trendy" or what students like, they are concerned with whether or not it would distract other students or present a health concern. And yes, even schools with no uniform still have dress codes that are usually enforced. I've seen students sent home for wearing exactly the type of shorts April does in the cartoon. With OR without leggings.

:tlol: I must say that aside from commentary on the masks, they also captured Leo and Raph quite nicely... That's dumb, but we're competitive, so count me in.
I went to High School while living in the bible belt, everyone was christian and super conservative. We had a a page and a half worth of clothing rules, in jr. high we went over it on the first day of school for a whole period
Irma and April wouldn't have had any problem whatsoever, Irma's skirt is not short at all and April was more than fine because of the leggings, but plenty of girls wore daisy dukes without leggings. You technically couldn't show any skin under your shirt but as long as your belly button was barely visible it didn't matter. You'd see thong strings sticking out constantly, every once in a while girls who didn't wear bras, tube tops etc. Every once a blue moon they would crack down on spaghetti straps but if the girls had their backpacks on it didn't matter.
Baggy pants and "offensive" band shirts which is pretty vague was also banned and yet I wore plenty of embarrassingly baggy pants many times and very offensive band shirts all the time without a problem. The only thing my school would crack down on was "unnatural hair color" but even then some girls could get away with a pinkish/reddish tone.
Papenbrook is just trolling as usual.

Really, even belly shirts? I remember when I was in High school plenty of girls wore half shirts that exposed their belly. I was in High School in the early 2000's, I don't think much has changed.
Man I don't know what kind of 1950's America you guys came from, but back in my day, girls would wear shorts, skirts, tank tops, belly shirts, etc. all the time and be allowed in school just fine. This is the early 2000's, that was the norm.
Hell the bigger complaints would be those big tall black guys who wore baggy pants with their boxers sticking out...those guys were always reprimanded by the principal or teachers or whatever.
Well you're from New York, Missouri is a lot more conservative.
Belly shirts were definitely a no-no, so 2k3 April would've been made to wear a jacket over it. But as long as the navel was covered it didn't seem to matter. Most girls wore outfits similar to Barbara Gordon from The Batman
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/animatedmusclewomen/images/b/be/Barbara_Gordon_2004_flexing_bicep_-The_Batman_s3e6.png
belly shirts were not really that "in" in the mid 00's, that was more of a 90s and recent thing again in my experience. In the mid/late 00's it seemed to be "tacky" at least for a while, now it's pretty common again. But maybe that's only in my area.
2012 April/Irma, totally fine, except maybe Irma's hair but a lot of time has passed, maybe "unnatural" hair color is allowed now. Extremely few blacks in my High School and they didn't wear anything baggy, so that was never an issue  A lot of white trash who wore baggy clothes but most of those dropped out by sophomore year.

sdp, what was even on that page and a half that took a whole class period if all that stuff was fine? :-? Or was it just what the district wanted but the school itself was super lax on it?
The only thing I really think is kind of dumb is schools being against "unnatural hair colors." I don't really remember mine ever being against that, but I'm not sure crazy colors were that big of a thing at the time anyhow.
Only thing that's noticeably changed for mine is the ban on chains and pointed objects. In my day the boys were fine having the chains on their wallets, which I presume is what they mean.
And no, Cubed, it wasn't (and isn't) any "1950's America" kind of school. It's just not quite the typical public high school and has always held itself to a particular standard. It's not a babysitter... It's a highly rated Vo-Tech within a small, separate school district (high schools only - 3 when I was there, now 4) existing within the territories of the other main default school districts, includes numerous career areas (of which students choose a "major," so to speak, before entering 10th grade), requires applications to get in, if you're lucky to get accepted, and they will kick your ass out if need be and send you back to your default district...
Years ago some held some kind of stigma, thinking that because it's a vo-tech then it's for kids that won't go to college, but the larger majority of their students in fact do...and they go in with a head start. But for those that don't, then they also at least have something better to try to start with.
This place doesn't have a stick up its butt, but given its curriculum (and safety reasons in certain career area classes) it at least expects a particular level of professionalism from both students and staff if they truly want to be there. (Booty shorts in nursing, dental, Chem Lab, etc? I don't think so.)
It's the only school I'd actually ever missed. Grateful that it wasn't the hell hole that the average high school experience may be... or at least I've gotten the impression of.

For April and Irma to wear micro shorts and mini skirts respectively, while they walk around school, AND avoid getting scrutinized in any way ... just wow. I guess their area had a lax code of conduct.
I wish my schools were like that. I know their school isn't real, but still ...
Well, wasn't April's school run by the Kraang? Seems like the whole thing was a sham designed to keep close tabs on April's whereabouts.

The animators seemed to think there was nothing wrong with April's clothing:

Even if she didn't have leggings on underneath they look like regular shorts to me.

When my college roommate and I watched "The Unconvincing Turtle Titan" episode back in the day, we were never sure what to make of the artistic decision to render April's... uh.... "lower back."

I can't believe anyone would think that the outfits in the 2k12 show would offend anyone. This is kind of an absurd tangent.

It wasn't High School, it was during Jr. High and it was only one period of 7 were we went through the students handbook including the dress code and went over all the rules. The rules were still there in HS but seldom enforced.

It's not there only, it's in the entire series, I only think it's meant to be her lower back since it's a kids show because if not it's clearly plumbers crack. I mentioned it once here many years ago and everyone ignored my comment so I thought i was the only one who thought that

Also all female characters are also sexualized in every cartoon that ever existed, by the writers or animators themselves. This is nothing new, you can find it in any show.

Why not? There were dozens of April ass shots in the camera, or when Don/Casey were crushing over April there was suggestive camera pan shots of her body. Then all the Karai/Shinigami stuff.
I mean the writers/animators are humans too. They purposely put stuff like this in every cartoon. Think of any other cartoon you ever watched. You think the 30-40+ year old adults working on them don't enjoy this stuff?
