i think u have a point with all the technnology we have now, they could have made a very realistic cgi tmnts, but they went with what we have now, and if the movie is relased with that look it won't be as successful as they think :|

wow this is the closest thing I've seen to an angry topic since I got here :dead: I think the CGI turtles actually look really good except for thier eyes which could use some work of course it is only a pilot and none of the models are near compete and all the rendering is basic.
CG offers a huge number of advantages especially when it comes to fight scenes(you try fighting in a 50 pound turtle suit :lol: ), I'll admit John Woo isn't a great director but with Peter Laird I think we'll see some great old school turtle action!!!!!!!! :D

I agree to that. Hey, if they can get fight scenes and graphics sorta like they do in some of the video games these days (Dead or Alive 3 for example), I'd be quite happy. :nod: I really do hope this movie will be more comic book oriented than the previous ones.

i support anything tmnt 110% good or not good. there is a good point in CGI. they can actually kill the foot soldiers instead of just bonking them on the head (and the foot soldiers could be robots :wink: ). i think the CGI would look awesome and it would enable, enhance and expand the usual capabilities the ninja turtles would have if it was real with puppets.

I think CGI could be a neat route to take. Its not common and definetly gives an effect of its own, crossing a line of animation and real life that is hard to walk on. Animation is cool cause you can do almost anything you can imagine on it where RL you can only do what can be built and constructed.

I'm for trying it once, isnt gonna hurt me. :3

Yes, the pilot was a test, like a rough draft. It was rough and quickly done as an example they could show networks to try and sell the idea for a CGI series. It eventually became the pilot for the movie. It is in no way a finished version.

I liked the NM costumes a lot better than the costumes in the third movie. They looked like frogs in TMNT III, but they're very scaly in NM. Since the fourth TMNT movie is now being rumored to be live action, I hope they go back to Jim Henson's creature shop for the costumes.

Yeah, strip TNM costumes down to Mirage basics and it would look much cooler. Still the quality of the costumes was very good for the budget. But I still prefer the first movie costumes, those were the best.

I guess i have always been a fan of the tmnt, but i could do nothing about it, since they were no more on tv, people did not talked about it, and i could not get stuff of them anywhere...so i always had to wait for something to happen...not that i had a choice =/
Then i got internet!That's were i started rediscovering the tmnt...i got eps, movies, comics, games, lots and lots of information, and met a lot of people i could talk about tmnt and other stuff...the rest is filstory =P
The moments i'll always remember will prolly be the first time i saw the episodes sypnoses at the official tmnt site, and the first time i ever got a divx ep, which happend to be a tmnt one at bqsplace...too bad i missed the next mutation, im not sure why i didnt wanted to watch it, but it was a mistake...i got the pr & tmnt crossover but that's not enough...perhaps sometime they will put it on fox kids again, i don't know...

Yeah, it was the online TMNT community of fans that keep my interest strong during that 'dry spell' between 1998 and 2001. It was so much fun reading everyone's fanfics, and seeing their websites and fan art, then chatting away with them during the wee hours of the night. I couldn't abandon TMNT then! :thyper:

I heard a while back that there was gonna be a new comic, then at the beginning of 2002, I stayed a few days at my friend's house. He had some old TMNT cartoons and was complaining that someone taped over em, and that he still watched him, so we popped it in and watched some, then we watched all three movies. I found out about the new comic, and since I had internet, I got all the info I needed, plus I ordered the comics. I know I can get him getting the comics again, it's just a matter of timing. When the new toys come out, I guarentee hhe'll get em all, and watch the cartoon. Too bad three weeks after that fatefulk day I moved. Oh well. Back on topic about the failed movie, Im glad. I want a live action movie, not cgi. :cry:

Well... I used to have scans of the new TMNT 2 comic... but somehow, someway, Peter Laird immediately found out about it and personally emailed me (HIMSELF!) that I better take the unauthorized scans down.

Don't worry if you don't want to put them on a site then i could just get them and send em to other people in irc but that's it, so that you won't go to jail or roboeastman/cyberlaird-209 will get you :)
