Good thing that this place got fixed in time for next new episode.

The Fast and the Furriest
Donnie's newly built Turtle Tank goes missing;

Here's a clip

Also if anyone hasn't seen Origami Tsunami, which is scheduled to air tomorrow, feel free to discuss the episode here.

Wow... what a family. Officially blaming every crappy thing about these Turtles on bad parenting.

Really thought that Splinter might prove to be at least a tiny bit better than he initially appeared to be, and instead he just got incredibly worse.

I don't get it, is this supposed to be relatable to people with bad parents? And why does it need to be... The TMNT were always (minus the fact that Splinter technically raised kids to carry out his revenge) an example of a good family unit. A model that kids (and adults) who come from a crappier background could look up to.

This Splinter could clearly not care less about them and that is very sad.

And automatically blaming their best friend. Who attacks them. Nice. Score one more point for crappy friendship examples.

On the plus side... uh, fish peddles, I guess? Random and not sure why a thing but kind of interesting? Poor fish though.

Probably least favorite ep thus far.

Okay, so 1. Rise April is an adult? Huh. I minda got tye impression she was a teen. And they've known her for years. I'd like to hear about this.
2. Yeah, Splinter was totally a crappy father here, but honestly? I kinda don't mind. I could see this being interesting down the line. Like, the turtles are mean spirited because of him, and one day they realize that he's wrong. Maybe he'll one day be the bad guy, if he wasn't already. Yeah, still a departure from the norm, but as long as it potentially go somewhere neat, I approve. For now.
3. Continuity bothers me here. References to Origami Tsunami, which sure, most of us have seen it, but that's not to say every kid watching has. Wonder why Origami Tsunami couldn't have aired last week, maybe in place of Down with Sickness or Shell in a Cell?

Concerning 2, this could be the first version since mirage to go that angle of Splinter being an awful influence on the Turtles. Perhaps his call for them to assassinate one man will be his Moral Event Horizon?

Yeah, I've been wondering. At most have been considering that she might be an older teen? Post-high school. (Therefor older than 2012's April despite the people behind this show acting as if this is the first time she's younger and "closer" to their age.)

The only thing we know about her life outside of the Turtles seems to be a quest to find and keep a job. Nothing about school. And, although it was just a ruse by the Turtles to try to catch a "paper thief," she thought she was going to attend a job interview at midnight... Had it been legit (and a night shift position?), clearly that would not a suitable job for a school aged teen who just couldn't do it. (Let alone be allowed to.)

Good thing to know this show has continuity.

I haven't seen Origami Tsunami, so I don't understand which scene references that episode.

What sort of powers do you think Meat Sweats would've gained if he eats Splinter?

I actually laughed at this episode with the interaction between Splinter and Meatsweats.
So far with this series it's been pretty poorly written in my opinion but I'm certainly a fan of a designs and art style.

The episode was alright.

I guess due to the episodes airing out of order but I like to know how Raph learned that power to enter that mutant club or how they knew about the club.

Got a small backstory with April and the Turtles, that they've known each other for years. Hopefully there be more info soon.

I will have to watch these episodes in order when all of them have aired.

Prior to this episode, the only one we haven't seen yet is 5a Mascot Melee. This episode is actually episode 5b, the OP is wrong. So hopefully the origin to that mutant pub is shown there, because that was very random.

Oh boy, like the first episode, there's a lot to say:

Splinter and the turtles have have an... Interesting father/son dynamic here. Seems to be a rather strange balance in authority.
And of top of that... He really thinks they're named Blue, Purple, Orange and Red? I thought that was just a gag. If that's the case, who named them in this version? Are they going with the lab animals origin?
I think the tank might be worst toy vehicle offender yet.
There's a lot of mutants here, like way too many. and they have a bar? They really think the mosquito escape was enough set up?
And they also mention that they've known April for years? Still waiting for a flashback here.
More importantly, is April a teenager or just a very youthful looking adult? She seems to be living alone.

Splinter is freakin' hilarious. Meat Sweats is def my favorite villain right now. Can't wait to see more of that mutant underworld. I loved this episode, I'd probably put it in my top 3 of what's been released so far.

Yeah, I was still wondering about that last night, that maybe there is a parent around there some place, but caught the repeat last night on another channel and noted that her apartment looks very much like that typical of a young adult newly on her own without much to her name.

If she's a teen, she's seriously got to be 18 or 19...

Likewise agree on the mutant bar/pizza place, or whatever that was. Confused about the whole glowy hand thing and how 'we' even know of this place. Needs some explaining, buuuut won't be surprised if there never is one.

Can't wait to see more of that mutant underworld.
At the rate it's going right now, hmm... maybe next Spring.

@ IndigoErth,This is a genuine question, I don’t really remember everyone’s thoughts when everything was finally revealed, but are you against this show?

If you don’t like it that’s fine. Not gonna trying to change your mind but the criticism you gave this episode is pretty exaggerated.

I’m sure you do not really think Splinter is meant to be a bad parent or the April scene is serious. It’s obvious the kind of gags they were going for.

So what you see is not what's actually happening? If he's meant to be a good parent then they're doing a pretty bad job of writing him. Surely they're writing him this way on purpose, for whatever reason, and if viewers, esp kids, can't see it for what it is that is concerning, and if how he was in this ep was a "gag"... then I have to wonder what has become of society to think so.

So actually, yeah, at this point in time I do in fact believe he's meant to be a bad parent. Good parents don't act like that. If that is their intention, so be it, but it doesn't make it not surprising and disappointing of his character.

I do appear to have misplaced my rose colored glasses. They do tend to make other's critiques of it look exaggerated. But honestly, I'd rather view it for what seems to actually be happening, bad or not...and, though maybe foolish, still hang on to some hope that it will improve later.

Origami Tsunami is still decent and shows there's some promise, it's just unfortunate that these "two weeks" of episodes aren't a more equal mix of eps like that one and this other stuff.

While they've set up who he is and what he can do, Meat Sweat's potential so far is kind of being wasted as just being a "problem" that shows up amid both episodes that aren't really about him. Origami Tsunami differs because the Foot were the actual subject.

Maybe Meat Sweats will always only be a stumbling block for them to avoid while doing something else, I dunno, but an actual plot for him would be nice.

I’d imagine that yes these early Mutant enemies will mostly be stumbling blocks in the end compared to Draxum, but Meat Sweats will get it worst due to being the first. I expect Big Mama to be the first competent enemy since the Foot Mystics.

When did Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche's voices get deeper? I didn't recognize their voices as Foot Brute and Foot Lieutenant respectively.

The same could taken as literal in almost every cartoon. It happens a lot.

I really don’t see Rise Splinter as a “bad guy”. I feel the gag was having the adult/mentor do something “bad” and just didn’t want the turtles to scold him for acting immature. The tank really belongs to all of them so this version of Splinter sneaking out for a joy ride fits right in with the tone of this show.

I guess Meat Sweats will be one of the main recurring villains of the series. This ep was fun but Splinter's authority seems a bit odd, unless this is all a gag.

This was a really fun episode. This version of Splinter is hilarious and got a lot of great lines, seeing the things he used to be able to drive the tank made me laugh loud.

"It's a lie. I taught him that one."
