the original was best. actually, the original like six. the rest were pure poopy. I guess they were ok, but next mutation sucked, and 2003 is ok, but they are too blocky.

From that list? The 80s show and the 03 show. They are both incredibly different, and I love them both so much. I don't think I could ever oick which one is "better", to me they are both tbest for different things.

The 80s show was my first look at the TMNTs. It's *very* nostalgic for me, so I like it a lot for that alone...I love the hunor (even when it got stupid in the later seasons), things like the Technodrome, Dimenion X, Channel 6 News...

With the 03 series I look on it as the *true* definition of the turtles...I don't read the comics (too hard to find in my area) so for me watching the show is a bit like watching a live action comic. I love the darkness, the unique personality that each character has, the totally evil Shredder, the stories, the fighting, the anitamtion...everything about it is so perfect to me.

So I'm going to have to cheat and vote twice, becase there's no way I can pick between the two 'toons.

This poll is unfair; instead it should've asked what we HATED the most, and that easily would've been TNM for me, hence I don't regard it as TMNT ;)

True, but that has little to with "wich version is best".

Of the four given, the new show is the best. It has a universal appeal that the old show didn't have.

original show, the plot lines for the individual eps were more interesting and they didn't need a multi ep arc to tell a good story. That and it felt like more work went in to the old eps to make them feel diffrent from each other, as it stands most of the news eps start feeling a bit repedative

I've got ot say 2k3, because the old show despite a lot of great episodes, had more really bad ones...

um, whats teenage mutant ninja turtles anime?

In 1996, Laird and Eastman licenced the Japanese to make a Japanese version of the old show. I haven't seen it myself but it but it probably has the same animation you'll see in shows like Pokemon or Digimon or other anime toons.

They are all so close. Except the Anime because I've never seen it. I fell in love with the old one (what made me start liking the Turtles) loved the Next Mutation (with a very few dislikes) and love the new show.

The anime is pretty goofy, mostly fighting with giant robots. I own a bootleg DVD with 2 episodes.

While on the subject of the anime version, it's worth noting that the Japanese alphabet doesn't include the letter "L". Any word with an L in is replaced with the letter "R" So that means...

Leonardo is Reonardo
Donatello is Donatero
Raphael is Raphaer
Michelangelo is Micherangero
and Splinter is Sprinter.

Leo656
11-10-2003, 02:41 AM
And here I thought they just talked like that.

Nothing's funnier than seeing a drunk Japanese businessman trying to sing Madonna's "Lucky Star" at a karaoke bar.

Well I guess not everyone can read/speak Japanese.

The Japansese alphabet consists of letters which represent syllables not individual sounds. So you were a little off there. For the record they would be "spelled" in Romaji something like:
Rionarudo
Rafaiero
Mikeranjero
Su'purinta

Bowser_Koopa
11-10-2003, 08:25 AM
is not that there is no L, is just the same as R, and i think is Rafaieru, they replace the individual sounds with U, like S=SU, i.e.:smash-sumashu, and when its ch like punch, panchi, don't know why but they always pronounce U as A, and TH as Z

example: smash brothers - smashu burzasu derackusu

Okay, I've just seen an TMNT amine clip on www.ninjaturtles.com, it featured Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, April, Splinter and the turtles, but they all spoke in Japanese, the only thing I could make out was "Turtle Power" . I was hoping for a clip where the people don't talk so funny.

The anime version is pretty damn funny, but sadly, there is no English dub version in existence. Thanks to a post alert from Leah~Nardo, I was able to purchase a DVD copy of it from eBay and you can have English subtitles. I laughed quite hard at it in a few scenes. The Japanese are so weird but in a good way.

So it's in a different language thank you speak, so that makes it funny?

It was a line from the lego film You Only Lego Twice, didn't mean to be offensive.

Next time try a smiley, quote marks, and maybe a "whoever recognizes that quote gets a cookie", and people will probably be able to figure it out easier.

I said it was funny because of the show, not because of the language. I'm already familiar with how the Japanese sound, just wish I could speak it myself.

*looks at Jarrah's joined date* You've been here since November 6 and have more posts than me?!? Dood, that's only 6 days ago! I've been here over a month and...3 days! I just hit 100 now, making me a Senior Member. Not going off-topic, I just now realized that...dyam! :o

So, anyway, the anime is very funny and anyone should try and nab a copy if they can. I only watched it once, but that was when my DVD player worked. I'll probably watch it again when my computer's in ship shape order.

So you pretty much expected people on here to have seen that, and thus know what you're talking about?

For ****s sake, think a little!

Not wanting to start a fight here but I just have to say  to that.Karpo, this is the last time I'm going to tell you to stop bashing the old cartoon. Next time, I'm giving you a warning and taking away your moderator position permanently. And heretic888, watch what you say also, since you're very close to getting your warning back.

Now as you can see, threads like this are pointless since they only lead to arguments and spam. Thread locked.
