I've read about these on the internet, three live-action Ninja Turtles movies. They're being realised on DVD the same time as the new show. Never saw these films, are they any good?

You mean the old movies from the 90's? Or are their new ones I don't know about? Anyhow, the old movies have already been out on DVD for over a year I think...

Anyhow, the first TMNT from 1990 rocks if you love the Turtles...I highly recommend it. Good action, humor and story. I've watched it so many times. (3 out of 5 stars)

The second movie "Secret Of The Ooze" from 1991 is good, but somewhat more cheesy IMO. The action is more slapstick and not as believable, but the humor is great! An okay story too. A turtle fan will most definitely like it. (2 out of 5 stars)

The third and last movie, III from 1992 is all right but kinda dumb at the same time. I've watched it the least, in fact I never saw it until a few years ago. Kind of a neat concept of traveling back in time but the Turtles look kinda fake IMO. Oh well, again a must see for a Turtle fan (2 out of 5 stars)

I'm gonna get poached for such lame reviews...but oh well.

I love the TMNT movies. My favorite is The Secret Of The Ooze.

there was a new tmnt movie coming out, but the proyect has been stopped, not cancelled, we just don't know if it going to happen or not, depends on the popularity of the new series

the old movies were good, except for the third one, is not as bad as for not watching, is just not the best tmnt movie IMO, the first one is the coolest they base in the comics more than in the cartoons, its very good watch it! :)

I think I am the only one that /really/ likes the third movie @.@ still like the first better, but I really like the third as well. It's the second movie that doesn't impress me as much.

If you have to see any of them make sure its the first, it has best action/humor/plot out of the three.

Your not the only one who likes the third movie. I like it also, the first one will always be my number 1 favorite movie, and the second movie I also liked. But I thought they could have done better

The 1st movie rocks, it couldn't have been done better. I've lost count of the times I've watched it, its just awesome. Writing, acting, fight scenes, Shredder, photography...just mind blowing.
I adore it, know the script by heart. :)

The second and third movie I cant' watch anymore, I gave them away to a younger cousin very recently and like to pretend they don't exist now. It's weird because with the 2nd movie there were some parts I used to enjoy, even the nightclub scene, but since the new toon came out I dunno, I just can't watch either movie sequel without feeling kind of disgusted. With the second one the hunour seemed far too forced and un-natural for my liking. The only time I like/accept overly goofy turtles is the 80s show now.

Yeah....maybe its because I remember Secret Of The Ooze from my childhood...I still like to watch the movie mainly because its just the Turtles. Yeah, maybe the humor is a little corny, but I love it!
That opening scene in the shopping mall! LOL. I love how just as Keno is about to be overtaken by those thugs, we see the Turtles coming in from behind him....love that. Action-wise, like I said, yeah that was bad. Totally unbelievable IMO. Funny thing is if I'd watched these movies in my teens I would have hated how April is a different actor on II, but for some reason it doesn't bother me, probably because of my childhood fondness of it.
I still think the first April (Judith Hoag) was the best...

I feel the same way as Ninja girl, I can't relly watch the sequels anymore. Of course, same goes with most of the episode of old cartoon.

They do the same thing in the Bond series, in every movie the cast someone else to play Blofeld or Felix Leiter.

Thats one of the reasons I dislike it so much.

Splinter

I like all of them, but the first is by far the superior film. The second one isn't that bad, and would have been great if not for the 'Super Shredder'. As for the third one, it's actually very Mirage-ish, other then the bad Turtle masks and crappy Splinter. Because it's similar to one of the Mirage Issues, with Mikey writing a story about himself being lost in Feudal Japan and looking for his brothers. Which again, they turned Mikey into Raph for the movie. :P :D

There are many things I like about the third film, It's far less chhesy than the ooze, and the action seems more serious. But due to bad costumes and some other stupid things it isn't really a better movie overall.

What can I say? I have very high standards.

I liked the 2nd one well enough when I was younger, but I just find it too childish to really enjoy it now.

I'll admit there are a few moments I like...Splinter and the "10 flips" thing and the whole "a little TOO Raph" scene spring to mind...and April pretending Mikey's chuncks were hers...

Well, I'll admit that the transformation into super shredder wasn't very realistic, but that's not the point. He looked really cool - he was like Shredder but just better, with more spikes and such. Things like that can't really be debated, since it's just subjective personal preference for a certain visual aspect of the movie.

I will say that the SuperShredder figure was the only Shredder figure that I liked from the old toy line. Maybe cuz it could actually stand up and didn't look like a crippled leukemia patient.

The third movie would have to be my favorite. Just by a little. I love the concept of the ninjas going to their past. And that they were Kapas or legends. All the Japanese stuff is cool as well, especially the castle. If they had some ninjitsu thrown in there, that could have made it better. And maybe cut the English. Ok, now I'm being to critical.

3's concept was ok, I also like the 16th century Japan stuff too. For it was too cartoony for me, there were quite a few cute scenes at least, like Mikey sees "clint eastwood" , Raph being nice to little Yoshi(which is obviously Hamato Yoshi's predecessor), Leo being a great horseman...actually I could see Raph being similar to Toshiro Mifune in the Mushashi series, trying to beat the horse and hassling him running him up and down .......
I still watch the movie sometimes, but it's just not the same. MY biggest peeve was why the hell did they redesign the guys, it's obviously NOT the Henson gang's doing. The anamatronics weren't as smooth and accurate as the 1 & 2 designs.
oh well.......

I hope when they get 4 back on track they're normal.

I've read about these on the internet, three live-action Ninja Turtles movies. They're being realised on DVD the same time as the new show. Never saw these films, are they any good?

The first movie rocks, out of the three it's the closest they got to the comics. Plus Raph is cute in it. <g>

The seconds is ok, they were forced to tone it down because of )@(#*% weenie parents whined how "violent" the first one was, yeah right. It was SOOOOOO bloody. (jeez im a mom nowadays and I didn't think it was bad...'course I'm a fan too...parents never took the time -still dont- to see what their kids are watching)
So 2 was a little more silly but still entertaining. They redid Don's design and unfortunantly the voice talent for the first movie was in drug rehab so they had a new voice for him also. Mikey was as cute as always in it. 'Combat Coldcuts!' And Raph, still cute and always getting his butt in trouble-unfortunantly the original actor for him split too. :-(

I rambled about threee in my previous post.....

Watch all 3 and form your own opinions.....

If they do make a fourth movie I hope the costumes will be updated with all the recent tech now days. Something like Spiderman and Hulk? I think the new movie could make it more realistic, and have better fighting.
