All people with experience with mirage tmnt comics!

So im bying volume 1 and 2 next week(only volume 1 costs near 200$ ouch!) Is there anything else worth buying like tales of tmnt or turtle soup or something like that?

$200? Well, if you're getting the whole volume, which is over sixty comics. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not, I don't pay much attention to the price or value of comics aside from "Can I afford it?"

I've never read Tales of TMNT or Turtle Soup but I hear they've got great stories, some which are part of the continuum. Plus the Turtles' individual mini-series'.

I've read the comics and that sounds like a fairly decent deal. In my opinion Tales of the TMNT is worth the purchase as well. As are the one shot issues for all four Turtles (Raphael #1 + Leonardo #1 especially).

Unfortunately many of the issues in Volume 1 are written by guest writers which have no bearing on the storylines but some are very enjoyable on their own right (check out Michael Zulli's 3 parter).

I only own two or three Vol. 1 Mirage comics, but I do have several of the collected books. I know that first print, NM are rather expensive, especially the first ten comic books. However, the much later comics aren't as expensive even if they're in NM condition. I guess it all depends on what condition you're willing to collect comics in. Overall, I'd say it sounds like a decent price.

Btw, I agree with RK. The Raph one shot was totally killer. ;) I'm planning on getting the other ones eventually...

And yes, this is a very weird place. I knew that ever since I first set foot in here. :anime:

I liked the raph one a lot...but that's probably because raph and casey are two of my favorite characters :goofygri: but it was awesome!

hrmm *does math* Hrm... $3.50 times 60 equals... $210. Yeah... you could say getting the whole set for $200 could be worth it, esp since I've seen many of the early TMNT issues go for $5 or $10 dollars. (O course, I haggled with the dealer to bring down the price since I was getting a few)

But hey, if you got $200 lying around, go for it! I have all but a few comics shy of having the complete Mirage Vol 1 set, and the toher specials that came out during that time. Mmm.. Turtle Soup is veeewy yummay!

oh.. just so yah know... Turtle Soup has one special run that came out one year, then a four set series was done a year or so later. So, in theory, there are two #1 Turtle Soup issues available.

get the City at War series! i've almost got the complete 13-issue series myself, but someone else snatched up the ones i havn't gotten yet. :evil: oh, speaking of tmnt comics, i finally got my hands on some old archie comics. they're pretty good. less intense, but certainly entertaining.

well, not only kali, the thing is that we don't see many comics in here, i can only read them thanx to the internet, if when kid i could have had comics, i would have rad them all the time :) i only had one, it was am archie, and i didn't even get it in my city i got in a trip :cry:

I will admit, I never read the Bodycount series. I do hav all of Vol 2 though.
Jim Lawson inked and wrote the story for that.. so the plot is kinda, strange to say the least. But I Liked it okay. It'a all in color too.

Volume 2 is pretty cool it gets a little far fetched at times but it does include a lot of cool returning characters.

As for Bodycount, it can best be described as a gorefest. There's not much to it except page after page of people being stabbed, shot, and blown apart. It's certainly different but not spectacular.

Also check out issue #28 of Volume 1. Jim Lawson did the art in that one. It's certainly one of the most touching issues I've read.

I only saw covers and some pages...atleast what i've seen, the art was great imo, and the gore too :evilgrin:

I dont think i will buy body count... If it just killing without a plot i wanna wachit done by Wesley Snipes in Blade and Blade 2...

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...raph and casey are some of my favorite characters, and i like the art, so i would buy it, but since body count won't appear here in argentina, i wont be able to do so anyways :x

Mirage. Back in issue 5, I think, when they were stranded in space with Fugitoid. Raph stole a gun and fired at the Triceratons who were kidnapping Fugitoid. At one point Leo also takes a blaster, saying "If Raph can use one of these, so can I." Or something to that effect.

*ysk* Shooting people with guns is too easy though. Nothing beats a good ol fanshioned decapitation n severed limbs, ya know. :P

O course, I don't count the gun usage in the early Mirage towards anything. They were in outer space, and so blasters are a little more practical. Or like in City at War, some of the had machine guns on hand too. Don like went into post traumic depression after blowing away a Foot that broke his leg and nealry killed Karai. *shrug*

But Body Count... shudder... too much trigger happiness for my taste there. *blink* hey, waita minute.. Raph's got three fingers there!

Okay, yeah. I just don't like it when people say that only weaklings and cowards use guns. I like guns. They're like any other weapon, you should be trained and need to respect guns. Melee weapons do give a better show, though, and I prefer them over gunfights.

Hrmmm... maybe they gave Raph three fingers on purpose there. Cuase if you think about it... if he had the usual two thick fingers, would they even be able to fit into the "ring" of where the gun's trigger is?

*thinks* No, I suppose not. Unless the gun has an open trigger (not safe *shakes her finger*) then the guys' fingers probably would not fit. Unless it was a custom made gun, and I don't think any of the guys would do that.

Well turtles and guns... Just dosent match. I have nothing against guns in fiction in general, I love Movies like The Matrix or The killer...
Still, I think That Turtles should just stick with their Melee weapons...

True, but most ninja do study firearms and explosives, even if they don't regularly use them.

But I agree, guns just don't go along with their nature. Besides, ammo gets expensive.

We have, most people think they pick up whatever people drop on the ground and into the sewers or take stuff off the punks they stop. And from April and Casey every now and than, maybe being paid for odd jobs.
