Since Krang didn't give me any chance to defend my self, Im doing it here. Krang. How was I bashing the old cartoon in the wich is better thread again? I found one comment very funny, and thats all. It was funny, because if not for yor rule, I could have told why I found it so funny. For respect of that rule, I have done my best to not talk about the Neagtive things of the old show. And yet here we go again.

You are biassed towards the old cartoon, I get that, but you also seem to have a big problem if someone likes the new cartoon better, and say what they don't like about the old cartoon. But that didn't happen in that thread. There was no spam or any arguments going on, and no Old cartoon bashing from mine, or any ohers part[atleast the last time I read it].

yeah from what ive read thats all true. give threads a abit of flexibility and life. it would be pretty boring if everyone agreed.

I have to back up Karpo. I think you are taking your old series fandom way too serious, Krang. Karpo did an sarcastic remark on Shellfox' comment, that's all (and saying the new series is repetitive in comparison to the new one is funny indeed imo). There was no bashing, not near. It really seems like you get pissed off whenever someone has to say anything slightly negative about the old show like it was a holy cow or something.
Sorry but even thinking about taking Karpo's mod position away because of baby crap like that is pathetic.

To be fair to Krang, this site IS about the old 'toon and not the new one.
Now we've gone from "Toon bashing" almost to Krang bashing. lovely.

Yes, I will take my bashing and leave. I made a thread in General discussion.

I get that but this time Karpo's comment wasn't really bad enough to consider it "bashing". Krang is exaggerating!
And Karpo, I don't think it's necessary to leave, not because of that.

just to note as well. so what if there is an argument. why can't people disagree? seriously...

If someone said something like "the new cartoon is way more popular than the old one" or something like that, I doubt there would be anyone laughing at them, just most likely a polite correction. I think fans of the old cartoon get unfair treatment by the other members here, so I'm trying to even things out.You are biassed towards the old cartoon, I get that, but you also seem to have a big problem if someone likes the new cartoon better, and say what they don't like about the old cartoon. But I'm not going to let people get ridiculed for having an opinion that isn't "popular." Besides, your comment wasn't what caused me to lock the thread, it was because I knew that people on the board couldn't handle a thread like that based on past experience.Sorry but even thinking about taking Karpo's mod position away because of baby crap like that is pathetic. It's not "baby crap," it's a nagging problem. And it's not just Karpo that is causing it.I dont see why it is fair for people to bash the new show and the next mutation hell
even the last 3 season of the old show get bashed but thats ok...How would you like it if you made a message board about the new show, and it was taken over by fans of the old one who began bashing the new cartoon and ridiculing its fans? Now do you see how I feel?just to note as well. so what if there is an argument. why can't people disagree? seriously...Disagree, yes. Flame wars, no. I already have to deal with enough problems here, I don't want to have to try to control a flame war.

Wow, it's amazing to see how quickly people turn on me after I provide a free message board for them without asking anything in return other than to follow some simple rules...

People can disagree but soon it escalates to personal attacks which I think Krang wants to avoid, he had some point in saying threads like that are a bit pointless because they start arguments (but I don't think that was the creator's intentions).

I can see where Krang is coming from, this the only message board I've seen that isn't full of arguing and fighting, it's always so friendly and I'm thankful for that. But I believe Krang is wrong for singling out 1 person or taking remarks to heart. The consequences he pointed out seem harsh and everyone knows they have a right to an opinion; you can make people say things (or not in this case) under rules, but you can't make people believe it (1984 reference I think, go smartass me :P )

I for one have happy memories of the old show as a kid and it showed me the whole world of TMNT. I wouldn't really watch the old show now but I don't hate it

see. this is what I was afraid of...
Ever since something over at paradigm city happened, I was afraid that Krang would feel un-appreciated after all he's done for the TMNT Fan community.

Something that needs to be remembered is Krang is a person outside of the forums, just like the rest of us. Certain posts can hurt his feelings, or make him feel like his work is for nothing.

I'm not so sure they really are Turning on you Krang, I think it was just a big misunderstanding.

Call me an ass kisser if you want, but that's just how I feel. I just feel bad for the big guy. He puts up with a lot of our crap, and asks for nothing in return. 's all Im trying to say.

"How would you like it if you made a message board about the new show, and it was taken over by fans of the old one who began bashing the new cartoon and ridiculing its fans? Now do you see how I feel?"

Okay I can appreciate you've given us the message board, thanks alot.

But this thread just is just saying that back there in that thread, there was no bashing of the old cartoon, and as Karpo was being sarcastic with his humor, not ridiculing.

Krang, I have a lot respect for you for keeping this place up, and as far as I know paying for it. And that is why I consider leaving. In other message boards I have seen very brutal comments about the old show, and now understand perfectly why you don't want same thing happening here. But like I said in the other thread, I have tried my best not to bash the old show. I didn't meant to ridicule Shellfox, but that was the only way I could respond without going into details, and I wanted to avoid that because it's usually considered bashing.

I'm suprised how many people actually want me to stay... I guess I will try harder once again. And now to update the Farewell thread.

Yes, I'm definitely in agreement with Krang on this one.

We have so many different personalities here at the forums that disagreements and arguments will inevitably occur. However, the problem I see (from my point of view) is that people take things wwwaaaaaayyy too seriously.

It seems to me that the Land of the Free has become the Land of the Easily Offended. Not a single person can share their honest opinion around here without a hoard of other people wanting to crucify him for it. And that doesn't just apply here at the Technodrome; this could easily encompass all of America. As soon as somebody says something we don't like, they're burned in effigy.

I like disagreements every now and then. It keeps things fresh around here. But, good Lord, some people around here need to take a chill pill. Is something somebody posted really going to matter a year from now? How about a month? A week, maybe?

Nothing that anyone says on here is worth getting all uptight about; the exception to this would be when people start taking personal jabs at others. And that's something we don't need around here.

There is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. You can dislike the old cartoon or love it. You can hate the comic book or cherish it. But please, people, all this verbal thrasing over petty issues is wearing thin.

All I can say is I agree with krang.

I'm not sucking up, and I don't care that this basicly started cause Karpo didn't like what I said= his opinion, his right

The simple truth is Karpo is respected here, and very very vocal as to his opionins, and those opinions at times go aginst the very fondation of this board. And since many people seem to follow Karpos lead striking him down might make the others think twice about crossing the boss and following the basic rules of the site.

Diffrent people have diffrent definitions of Bashing, and over the last few weeks it seems a lot has been bashed for the sack of bashing

I'm just saying allot of people here are bashers and it's not cool...
frankly I loved the episodes with lord dregg and mung and when they went to find shredder and krang and lord dregg had krang as part of him ....
it's a shame no one else cares for these episodes that could be compaired to 2003's new sow in my opinion

Just thought I'd add my thoughts.

I too agree that the first season and the red sky seasons (particularly the first one) were among the old cartoon's best work.

I also did not perceive any "bashing" taking place in the thread beforehand that was closed to Krang. But, hey, that's just me.

I still don't quite agree.. As I said before, I've got nothing against Krang, he's a great administrator, but that doesn't mean he can't make mistakes. I haven't seen anyone bash the old cartoon in a long time, and I didn't see anyone bashing it in that last thread. No one is "turning on Krang," they just don't agree with him on this particular case.

Yea, the old show was pure quality. Of course the constant whining of April really degraded the show from an older person's standpoint, as well as that stupid "5th turtle"...but everything else worked.

I will say thought that I have to agree with Jeff... aside from this forum, I have never met anyone who liked the new TMNT over the old. Most people only know of the old 'toon TMNT, and that to them is the "real" version, and they accept nothing else. Some people actually refuse to acknowlege Mirage because the darker tone "ruins their image of the characters" that they've had since childhood.

Kinda sad in a way. Me, I accept all versions of TMNT as valid, I just have my preferences is all, and I prefer the new show over the old.

I'd never even read the comic until this year when someone got me one of the comics put into book form...yeah, it is very different to someone who'd watched the cartoon and movies all his life. It was very interesting to see the Turtles in their early incarnations (same color masks, more violence, language, etc.). The darker tone and violence doesn't really bother me I guess but perhaps I am stuck in a time warp and can't see the Turtles this way...although I understand this was their beginning. I can't say I'm a big fan of the comic but it was interesting for a Turtle fan like me anyway. I guess I'll always be partial to the old toon but I'm sure I'll like the new toon when I get around to seeing it.

The fact why most people here prefer the New cartoon and most people you know don't, is due the fact that all people here are TMNT fans. Most people ourtside fandom don't even know who Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are. I know people like those too. All they know is the old cartoon, a show they loved as a kid, and when they see more mature Mirage comics or New cartoon, like you said, they won't accept it. The people I know don't do anything TMNT related on their spare time, so they aren't TMNT fans. Just people who used to love a cartoon show. But there are people in the fandom too who prefer the original Show, and and still acknowlege Mirage.

*nods* Yes, and I especially like the Red Sky seasons. Especially the first one; that was genius (as far as cartoons go). I mean, Shredder blowing up Channel 6 was just like, "whoa".
