I get the feeling she'll probably start to resemble Campbell's fan-comic take:

What is the release date for the issue since we are already getting a preview?
I understand the slow burn. I suppose its because the length of the last arc and the big ramifications we need a breather arc. I just don't care for bonding at a mutant pig concert.
We know that Mondo and Mutagen Man left, but Sally looks to have a big character moment coming.
Also, I am curious to look in on Kitsune's thoughts after everything. Rat King suggest more to come though, will he be the lone big bad of the family now?

Didn't know who that was until just now. I just read issue #103 and I loved it! TMNT is the highlight of my pull list for the first time in a long while.
Making the book more character-driven is a very welcome change of pace and I really like that the book is taking its time introducing us to the new status quo. Honestly, the book could just be about Mutant Town for a couple years and I wouldn't breathe a word of complaint. It's such a neat setting and there's a million things you could do with it.
Ever since Nick bought the franchise, every verision of TMNT has felt like a different spin on stories we've all seen before. For the first time in a decade, it feels like TMNT is doing something completely new. I have no idea where this is going and that's really exciting to me.
(Also Sophie's art is wonderful. This is the best the main series has looked in a long time.)

Raph's bitchiness has been turned up to 11 this issue. Still wonder how all the turtles' issues are going to be resolved in the next two issues, if they're all really meant to be together for the concert like the cover of #105 shows.
Maybe Klunk is actually a magic cat and he'll appear before each turtle like a ghost of christmas past. Maybe it's Kitsune in disguise leading them all back into the city. Maybe Donnie and April just happen upon the action since they're apparently right there in the background. Maybe Alopex needs to give Raph a stern talking to / backhand to keep her ho in line. Guess I'll have to wait to find out.

As usual, the only negative thing I have to say about each issue is that they seem to end so damn soon. This one even more so.
Saw it coming a mile away that the weasels were kids, I think I even mentioned it in the thread for #102.
I hope Klunk isn't gone for good... (Bonus points: I hope Saki is the one to find and return him to Mikey!)
More than Hob, I bet all the Campbell naysayers felt that punch too. Congrats for the great work, Sophie! This comic just keeps getting better and better.

This sums up my thoughts pretty well, honestly. The story is a lot more engaging than it's been in a while, largely due to how well it's paced. But yeah, unfortunately, I can't really get over the dialogue. Luckily, all the other good stuff makes it a lot more bearable.

Nice to see Sally with a mane. Makes her look more like a lioness and less like Lady Hob.
I dig Raph's outburst. He's speaking for some of the readers, no doubt, and it will be good to see Jennika be accepted into the clan. Address those reader concerns! Bring in Jennika! Resolve the clan division!
I really don't like seeing Hob sell off mutants into slavery. That seems out of character. When have we ever seen Hob willing to screw over any mutants in the name of other mutants? (Other than Splinter and the Turtles, who of course he has a tremendous amount of beef with.)
I don't buy it, sorry.

Old Hob has always been selfish, he basically does things for himself even if he’s saying he does it for mutants everywhere. His character has kinda gone into a rut to be honest because there’s no where his character can go after the mutant bomb. I thought he would eventually warm up to humans but it feels far too late now for that to happen.
Kinda a breather issue until the last scene with Sally/Hob. I also must say Koya (and bludgeon) should have left the Foot altogether or been killed off in issue 100.

I don't think Hob sees it that way. Let's be honest, he has always used other mutants as his foot soldiers. He probably figures those three might as well be literal Foot soldiers in exchange for supplies for Mutant Town, 'cause if he kept them, he would use them in the exact same way but it would mean three more mouths to feed with little to no food on hand. Gotta say I kinda see his point.

Old Hob HAS always been selfish. And he does things his way.
But he didn't let Seymour sacrifice himself, remember? And he keeps Pete around, useless birdbrain that he is.
He's selfish and narrow-minded and angry, but I don't buy that he'd sell mutants to the Foot.
Gonna need more explanation or context to convince me in the issues to come, because right now, it just seems like taking Hob to full "evil" instead of the antihero he has been.
Even though he did set off a mutagen nuke. :tlol:

Exactly. He sold them, in exchange for much-needed supplies. It's the middle of Winter and there are at least dozens, if not hundreds or even thousands, of people in there that need food and other goods. Should he stick to his guns just to keep three more mutants on board, and slowly watch while they all starve and freeze to death including those three? Or take a more pragmatic approach and exchange three "assets" for the prolonged survival of his people? It's not like Hob sold them off to a much different lifestyle than he would provide them anyway. If anything, they'd be better cared for by the Foot than at a ghetto for mutants. They'll still be child soldiers wherever they live, but at least they'll live. It's not nice, it's not pleasant, but it is what it is.

Interesting issue to follow up with a preview advertising the Mutanimals miniseries, considering.
So the weasels were indeed kids. They being tiny was a source of speculation the whole time.
Aside from the whole aspect of Hob selling kids, I do wonder what Jennika thinks of the Foot taking on kids. That is, as someone who was homeless and found a home and identity with the Foot.

You don't really expect Bishop to be gone for good when he was looking into cloning tech, do you? None of those really count when the comic is still ongoing and even a minor character like Victor came back, after a fashion.
Only after this comic is over - which, hopefully, won't happen for many years - will the dead really count as dead.

Exactly my point: "for now" is pretty fluid. A couple of years back, Shredder and Krang were also dead "for now". While the comic is ongoing, all bets are off. And let's be honest, if IDW does decide to bring Bishop back at some point, his is definitely the clearest and most set up means to return of all big bads prior to his death: he was experimenting with cloning tech. Whereas we had no idea Kitsune planned to resurrect Saki or that Krang was parasitic when they died.

Um, I think all of us knew Saki would be coming back. Not for a long time, but we already knew he was Kitsune's Dragon Warrior. That was introduced in the Secret History of the Foot Clan. And given how unimpressed Kitsune was by Saki undertaking the Gauntlet, it was a given she wasn't going to be put off or defeated by his (temporary) death.
I'm generally not very fond of characters coming back to life as it tends to make their deaths feel cheap and takes away any impact they might've had on the readers. However, Bishop's death was already as cheap and boring as it gets so I wouldn't mind.
For me, I had a hard time accepting the little Mini-Me as Bishop once we saw what he was in #88. As soon as that happened, I lost a lot of interest in the character. Yes, it was a new take on Bishop. Yes, it was interesting.
But I hate it. Hoping (and feeling pretty confident) he'll eventually be resurrected, in a cloned grown-ass-man body.

True, but that doesn't negate what I'm saying. Saki has a history of resurrection in other iterations of the franchise. Suppose Splinter does come back as a Tang Shen-like figure and Bishop does return in a cloned body. Are any of those that surprising either? It's sort of (partially) what they're known for. No big surprise if it happens. Back before The Dark Knight Rises, I accidentally mentioned in conversation with a friend who is comic-illiterate that Bane would break or at least seriously injure Batman's back, and he was moderately upset about the spoiler but it's not really a spoiler, is it?

If he does, I assume it will have an effect on his extremist worldview. That, and whatever threat Null is cooking up that I also expect will force him to team up with the Turtles to combat. Mind you, this is all speculation.

The problem is how could Bishop's mind be transfered if he was still there right as the Slash clone killed him? He also looked confused and disoriented before he got stomped, I don't think there's any realistic way he could have transfered his mind...his whole robot body was destroyed too so there's nothing to transfer it on. And if they just do a clone it wouldn't be the same bishop anyway

Just from your summation of the circumstances alone, a professional comic writer could work out at least a couple of scenarios for his survival, mind transfer or otherwise. For instance: you mention he looked confused and disoriented before he got stomped; who's to say he didn't perform the transfer moments before to someone else's body (Dr. Shevlin's?) and that was the other person's consciousness who died instead of his? Just throwing a comic book-y idea out there. There are ways it could work.
Regarding the same Bishop thing, the Slash clones probably weren't even ready when he died and they still retained at least one of his memories. Who's to say Bishop 2.0 doesn't lean more towards the anti-hero side of things but keeps getting flashbacks to his former life as an extremist that leave the Turtles on edge because they'll never know how he will act? Could make for an interesting dynamic.

I confess, I’ve never been the huge Bishop fan, in any version, as others. He’s a suit, he represents “The Man,” he serves a good purpose for conflict and did go a ways to answering the question of what the heck the government had been doing all this time in the IDW verse, but I’ve never considered him as interesting as Shredder, Krang, Stockman, etc. Now that Stockman is the Mayor, and Null is hanging around, we already have plenty authority figure antagonists in suits hanging around.

I, on the other hand, love the 03 version of Bishop. He's always been a formidable threat, physically and otherwise. He showed himself to be a fighter of the highest level the moment he was introduced, but that was really just a small part of it. He always felt like he was a step ahead, like he held his cards close to his chest and, even when he was pushed to the corner, he still gave the impression that he's planned for this. He was mysterious, but not enough so that it got frustrating. Unfortunately, I don't feel like IDW Bishop ever really captured that magic.
Absolutely agree.

had another thought. if the mutants are granted citizenship down the road then sally and at least one of the turtles are going to have to do something most people hate/dispize doing. going to the dmv.

I'm really enjoying where the story has gone and the art is great. This feels like new territory for the series, yet it also fits the foreshadowed future full of mutants we've gotten glimpses of earlier in the run.
That said, the dialogue is really bugging the English nerd in me. Commas are constantly being used in place of periods and it drives me up the ****ing wall. It takes me out of the story on every page. I'm not trying to be mean here, but seeing constant run-on sentences in a professionally published comic that heretofore had such tight dialogue just boggles my mind. Most the actual dialogue wouldn't be a problem if those commas would just go away. (Well, and the use of "crap" where "damn" would flow better in a couple spots this issue stood out too.)
I'm assuming Klunk is gonna come back and that'll help break Mikey out of his funk, show him that not everyone and everything disappears forever. In fact, I'm gonna predict that when Mikey and Leo go back to the house Klunk will already be curled up inside sleeping. Otherwise, damn would it be dark if his kitty froze to death on top of everything else. Kid needs a win. An ending where Klunk at least hasn't disappeared would fit this arc's theme of "bad things happened but we're finding our feet again, and everything isn't going to suck forever."

This, very much this. I also keep wanting to see the girl that used to have Hob as a pet see him and he find out that she did not want to lose him. How would that effect Hob?

He was owned by a boy, named Billy, I believe.
You heartless cad. How could you forget the only person who ever loved Hob?

For me, I had a hard time accepting the little Mini-Me as Bishop once we saw what he was in #88. As soon as that happened, I lost a lot of interest in the character. Yes, it was a new take on Bishop. Yes, it was interesting.
But I hate it. Hoping (and feeling pretty confident) he'll eventually be resurrected, in a cloned grown-ass-man body.
I have no idea what the story would gain from making Bishop an ass-man, but I guess if he specifically likes big ones, we'll have a version of him who cannot lie.

Poor Billy had his dreams and his childhood stolen, and yet he's one of the lucky ones. (Could've been unknowingly mutated by Hob years down the line...)

Sounds like quite the twist. I'd love to see that possibility explored on top of the two meeting again.

If Hob is to ever have any redemption it is the perfect way for it to happen organically. Learning that he was not actually abandoned could turn him into an interesting direction. So Ms. Campbell you are lurking and the gears are turning about how to make this cannon right?:D

What if instead of poor Billy, the one who threw Hob to the street got mutated during the mutagen bomb and lived in the mutant?

Your right. Let's just save it for the fanfiction, which we know will happen. maybe not today but somewhere in the future.

had a thought on what I think sallys speech to hob is going to be.
"you remember when you rescued me and ray? we were being traded to the foot by null. now your just like she is."

Speaking for myself, a good dose of near-fanfiction levels of speculation is the only way to endure the long wait between issues.

A) It's not normally two weeks, though. Sometimes it's even more than four.
B) It is? Nice! 8) They can't get here fast enough.

I'm really sorry if this was elaborated on in issues 101-103 but could someone answer me: does Mutant Town have wi-fi? Is the community's internet also walled off from the outside world? Or electricity or phone service in general? Is Stockman's office communicating with anyone on the inside of the wall? We saw police, EPF soldiers, and people who were involved in Stockman's campaign mutated after all. Are mutant citizens posting stuff to Facebook about the conditions?
