...you'd think there would have been a TMNT monopoly. Is anyone else shocked to realize this? We should develop one...

Haha, that would be awesome!
"Hey, you landed on my Technodrome! That'll be 100 bucks!"

Yeah, they make Monopoly for practically everything else. Why not the Turtles?
What would they use for the different spaces? Besides the sewers and the Technodrome, there aren't that many Turtle landmarks. And if you went to jail, couldn't you just use your ninja skills to escape?

Problem is, that Hasbro owns Monopoly. But it could happen, since they did make a Simpsons Monopoly. And Playmates does the Simpsons figures. :)

There's also a star wars monopoly from what I've seen...hmmm...
Well if we sort of combined TMNT themes a bit... there'd be sewer rooms, the technodrome, the second time around, Shredder's HQ, the channel 6 building, TCRI, that Purple dragons hq. April's/Casey's family's farm...there are probably other places too, but can't think of any more at the moment. *grabs a Donny or Mikey piece and gets ready to play*

Sheesh, after seeing some of the ideas (or lack thereof) in this thread, I apalled that you people consider yourselfs TMNT fans
Here how it should go, starting from GO and going clockwise:
The Mediterranean and Baltic Avenue group would be the Sewers: Med. = the Rat King's Domain and Baltic = the Turtles' lair
The Oriental, Vermont, and Connecticut Avenue group would be the Everglades: Oritental = Quicksand Pits, Vermont = River, and Connecticut = Fountain of Youth
The St. Charles Place, States, and Virgina Avenue group would be Combat Land: St. Charles Place = Shogun Zone, States = Medieval Zone, and Virginia = Future Zone
The St. James Place, Tennesee, and New York Avenue group would be New York City: St. James Place = Central Park Zoo, Tennesee = Channel 6, and New York = Octopus Inc.
The Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois Avenue group would be Atlantis: Kentucky = Docking Port, Indiana = City Square/Main Plaza, and Illlinois = Throne Room
The Atlantic, Ventnor Avenue and Marvin Gardens group would be Shell-Ri-La (the Planet of the Turtleoids, for the clueless): Atlantic = Herman The Horrible's Cave, Ventnor = Prison, and Marvin Gardens = High Council Chambers
The Pacific, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania Avenue group would be Dimension X: Pacific = Asteroid, Nortch Carolina = Penitentary, and Pennsylvania = Neutrino Capital
Park Place and Boardwalk would be the Technodrome: Park Place = Engine Room and Boardwalk = Portal Room
Reading RR would be the Turtle Blimp.
Pennsylvania RR would be the Starcruiser.
B&O RR would be the Footski.
Short Line RR would be the Transport Module.
The Electric Company would be the Niagra Falls Power Station.
The Water Works would be the 9th Street Reservoir.
Income Tax would instead be labeled as "Ransom Fee".
Luxury Tax would instead be labeled as "Pizza Delivery".
Free Parking would picture the Turtle Van.
Go To Jail would instead read "Captured by villains!" and would picture Shreder.
In Jail would instead read "Held Captive" and would picture a scene from "Dirk Savage, Mutant Hunter!" where Mike and Leo are behind bars.
The only things I can't think of chaning right now are Chance, Community Chest, and the houses/hotels.

Dude... Great ideas for locations, Rez! I'd love to see TMNT monopoly. There's already a Yahtzee game, but it's the Jr. version.
Hmm... What if you let community chest or chance become Splinter's Dojo? Or Splinter's Lesson might work... *shrug*

Yeah, those are pretty good designations for the monopoly lots. Chance/Community chance could be done too, but there's way too many of them.

That would be shellin Reznorite. Has anyone bought the new board game? I was wondering if it's a decent game or not. My little brother bought the new Turtle Jr. Yahtzee and it's actually a pretty fun family game.

Hey Rez, you outta give your ideas to Hasbro, I bet they'd go for it! Sounds like a plan Stan, I hope they do make a TMNT Monpoly and just like how you said it.

I would were it not for a few things:
- Like I said, I'm stuck as to what the houses and hotels would be
- I wasn't totally serious about this idea in the first place, but if it'll make me some money, why not?
- We do have to look at this realistically; what will people think when they see a brand new TMNT item based on the original toon 7-8 years after it went off the air? Most people are looking for the NEW TMNT stuff now, and also imagine the confusion it would cause in the 5-10 year old range...

They could use manhole covers for houses, and mutagen canasters for hotells, or April/Casey's farm house for houses, and Aprils antique store for hotells.

Hmm... that would be really cool if they made that. That's a really good idea. :)

A turtles monopoly game would be good to replace my last monopoly game, someone has been writing over the top of the print,
YOU'VE WON SECOND PRISE IN A BEAUTY CONTEST, SMASH JARRAH OVER THE HEAD WITH THE BANK
or
GET OUT OF JAIL FREE, YOU MAY KEEP THIS CARD, SELL IT, OR STICK IT UP JARRAH'S BOTTOM.

Back to the topic at had, yeah a turtles monopoly game would be cool, the tokens could be TMNT characters, and the proporties could be the turtles lair, the Foot HQ, April's shop, the TCRI building, if they can make Star Wars monopoly, why not Turtles monopoly?

They could use manhole covers for houses, and mutagen canasters for hotells, or April/Casey's farm house for houses, and Aprils antique store for hotells. The former would be OK, just not perfect, but the latter I'd have to say NO since we're sticking to the original toon universe here.
EDIT: Hey! I just got an idea for the houses: PIZZA PARLORS!
Heh, this discussion kinda makes me wanna reinstall Monopoly on our computer. It had a feature in which you could rename the properties to make a custom board.
Also, anybody else seen Make-You-Own-Opoly? Blank names and cards, you fill in yourself.

Maybe the Foot HQ could be the motels...

Nah...that'd be deviating from sticking to the original cartoon universe, but not at all a bad idea for a game based on the new series.
Anyway, it just hit me and it's probably not too fitting, but maybe "Kerma ships" would be good for hotels. Hey, they had similar looking pieces for the hotels in the Star Wars Episode 1 version of Monopoly ;)

if they make a monopoly out of one of the two cartoon series, original and new, the original needs to be slightly different from the new series monopoly.
